We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment
  • Hi all

Well have made loads of phone calls and made an energency dash to Asda for some fabs as DS wanted some. OH is till getting the runs, oh joy. Was going to phone up work and volunteer to come in later on in the week, however, I think I've got this bug because I'm so bloody knackered and run down, so will stay off until next week. There's only so much pressure and stress you can put on people and then they start getting sick.

DS is eating quite well, definitely school tomorrow. Am going to try and study today at some point, have an essay due next week.

Crazychick sorry to hear your news.
Catz what a cute puppy, I want one.

    Catch you later.

Forgot to say earlier - apparently the price of bread is going up again (due to Russia and Kazakhstan limiting exports) so, as the Dodos say in Ice Age - DOOM ON YOU all those who mock us with our bread machines!!! (and those who make their bread by hand!!);)

REDRUBY - I do hope things work out for you. Thinking of you.

CATOWEN - thanks for the tip about the bread. I'll get stocked up with flour, yeast and so on this week. I haven't bought shop bread since I got my BM last summer. My DH said the half wholemeal-half white bread I make (from a soft rolls recipe - I just bake it in two loaves on a baking sheet) is the best he's ever tasted. Praise indeed!

(((Hugs))) to everyone with illnesses, dental probs, appointments with medical persons or any other problems.

Well, I have packed my Mum's pressies up for Mother's Day and will post if all off this afternoon to make sure it gets to her for Sunday. I have also gone through the very last file in the filing cabinet that needed doing and have thrown out loads of unnecessary bits of paper. Once I've put what's left into date order, that will be the whole cabinet sorted and it's a great feeling! Well, until I start shoving things in there 'to sort out later'! I have also sorted out the newly-fixed bookcase so I feel as if I have achieved quite a lot today. I have even typed up some invoices -DH will be thrilled!

I'm going to have an early lunch and sit and do a bit of knitting until I go to the Post Office at 2pm then go and collect the grandchildren up from school.

The sun is beaming at the moment and it's not that cold, either, which makes a change.

Anyway, starving hungry so must go and eat. See you all later.

  • Hi all :hello: to Churchmouse.

Happy Birthday Crazychik, I hope that you manage to enjoy your day despite everything.

Big HUGS to Smokey, I hope the news is better soon.

Hugs to everyone else who needs them.

Well I was woken at 1215 by some twit ringing my mobile, no idea who, don't recognise the number, and had just drifted back to sleep again when the earthquake struck, I thought it was a burglar so stayed in bed! Even the cat snored her way through it though, I was prodding OH who was away with the fairies but couldn't wake him. Typical. I did peep out of the window and saw one of my neighbours (in his jimjams, very nice :) ) out in the street but otherwise noone else seemed to have even noticed.

Went down to the supermarket today, the flipping council have in their wisdom spent the last three weeks putting in traffic calming measures on the main road into town. Today there was a nasty accident on the way, poor souls. I have lived here for over 20 years and there has never been a problem along that road, but since their 'safety' measures, there have been two bad accidents and I have had three near-misses. Makes my blood boil that some officious knowall at the council has caused such chaos.

Got home and my new compost bin had been delivered, so I've got to find somewhere to put it now, the cat is a bit bewildered by the appearance of a plastic Dalek in her garden.

I've just finished scrubbing the bathroom and hoovering upstairs so am giving myself a break before lunch and then this afternoon I've decided to go and look for some fabric remnants to revamp my sofa cushions with. I've been grinding my teeth with envy at the Shabby Chic thread so decided that this was a quick and easy method to improve my very shabby and not-chic sitting room.

    Have a good day all.

Thinking of you mrs_mix. I know hospitals seem quick to send people home sometimes. He might perk up when home though.
Lovely sunny day here. Washing ready to go out now - a bit late I know. Making soup this afternoon as some of the carrots from the farmers market are looking poor;ly. It was nearly 2 weeks ago though so I'm not sure whether this is normal ie they aren't as full of preservative type fertiliser/ whatever as supermarket produce is. Another market on Sat though so will go and stock up. We get bags of mixed small apples for £1 and they are lovely - a few different types in a bag.
Ok off now with the washing.
Warm thoughts to all who need them

Sat here in dressing gown as it is the only thing that does not drag down the bandages on my arm.

Going to get dressings changed later this afternoon and DH will give me a lift.

DD is out for a walk with her friend and I will make spag bol for tea(Dh can have potatoes insead of pasta.)

Decided to just pace myself and if I feel like a rest then I am going to take one!!!

Wished DD(19) happy birthday on the phone and she sounds as if she is having a good day.

    Hester

"katy" is in for a nasty shock when she gets lodging somewhere else.

I cannot see anybody letting her eat all the food and drink all the wine and taking over the kitchen half the night - never mind taking over their computer. When she has to buy food herself she will never manage her fussy tastes on her salary.

Hugs to any one needing one and see you later.

OH back from the Doc's. she had never had anyone with an allergic reation to the meds, but has given him some different ones that he was given in 2003 (the last time he had antibiotics) He has to have 24 hours without anything to give the first lot time to work through the system.

We are both going to have a nap this afternoon....we only got 4 hours of sleep last night........

Decided not to go to Mr T's this afternoon, will go tomorrow morning.....I got Spag bol out of the freezer last night, so we will have that for supper tonight.
