I have been over at my sister's today doing her garden - weeded front and washed the path down etc - then weeded the back and cut the grass with a rather awkward strimmer!! I cant get on with those things!

Just come back and had a shower, DH has taken the kids to nanny's and then we are off to the Waterloo Imax to see my 3D U2 concert!!!:D I've told DH to give me a prod if I start singing out of tune!!:rotfl: and hope I don't fall asleep :o :rotfl:

Spoke to mum this morning and her flight to Oz was good, she had a lovely male attendant looking after her! Her flight couldnt land for 1/2 hr due to a thunderstorm at Sydney!

Plus my legs ached from my run with DH yesterday!!:o I don't know HOW they run 26 miles in the marathon!!!

    Happy B'day Crazychick.
I got in from work to find hubby was cooking tea, spag bol & it smells yummy.
Apart from that my plans are another 2 or 3 hours of crochet then a shower & bed. I need to save my strength for the weekend as I'm out Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
    Hugs Hester

Crazychik - sorry to hear your news, hope everything turns out for the best. Hope you enjoy your birthday evening and KFC if you have it - think I will have that as my Mothers day treat.

Didnt get out for lunch after all as friend had to wait in for a plumber. Had a nice day in the end as popped into town to get an unexpected birthday pressie and a few food bits - spent quite a lot of money which didnt matter as had saved by not eating lunch out - definately noticing now how much things have gone up. Did treat myself to a takeaway sandwich and coffee from my favourite coffee shop though.

Am starving now and just about to dish up dinner.

    Have a lovely evening.

Tattycath - Try not to worry too much about the appointment (easier said than done I know) it might just be that there was a cancellation. We were told it would be a 4 month wait for dd's MRI scan but it has come through in a fortnight.

Best to get them over and done with and get our girls on the way to good health asap (((hugs)))

    Catz x

Thanks catz-I'm great at dishing out the 'don't worry' thing, it's a totally different ball game when it's my own! :o I know it makes sense, and I'll try not to worry-I'm wondering if it's worry that's caused my bad head the past couple of days...
Anyway, thanks again, I'll let you know how it goes on friday. And please keep us posted about your DD too.
    Take care

Expensive day, hope it hasn't scuppered the budget for food this month. I spent £30+ at Graves and H&B. Lots of nice things.

Nice dull evening at home. I do like peace and quiet.

    Evening all :hello:

Happy birthday Crazychik :bdaycake: Sorry to hear about the split - I hope that in the longer term it goes whichever way it's "meant" to go.

I hope nobody's got too much damage from the earthquake. I was still up and online when it happened, and I did feel it all the way down here in South London! However, dozy mare that I am, I thought it must be somebody else in my block of flats moving heavy furniture and dropping something (yeah right - at 1am!) and even though one of my friends posted on Facebook 5mins later (from York) saying he was sure there had just been an earthquake, and even though I watched the BBC breakfast news, it wasn't until I was on the bus to work this morning that I thought "oh yes, there was that weird vibration thing last night... so THAT's what it was!"

It took me ages to get home this evening - there was a road closure near my office due to a - i suspect fatal - motorbike accident :( There are two real blackspots for motorcyclists near where I work, there have been at least 2 (perhaps now 3) people killed there in the 5 years I've been on this site.

Am having a relaxing evening at home, watching Find me the Face - I love model programmes :D

Am going to make a batch of risotto later - I did a very successful recipe the other day out of the Waitrose magazine for Jan/Feb, but bought way too much parsley and need to use it up, so am going to do the recipe again.

We had a Book People sale at work yesterday and thanks to my cookbook addiction I thought I had better set a budget :o I gave myself £15 and spent £16 so not TOO bad, and got the Good Housekeeping Step By Step book, plus a soup book and a baking book.

Must be off now - things to do...

    Rzl xx

Happy Birthday to Crazychik, sorry to hear about the split :(
(((hugs))) to Smokey and anyone else who needs them

Have had a day in today, got up to date with the washing (how can a family of 3 have sooooooooo many socks?? ) and given the kitchen a really good clean inc all the cupboards and fridge - nesting starting early maybe?!

DD was crying this morning because she couldn't go to school, it was supposed to be her (late) valentines disco tonight but shes still got this bug and they wont let her in school until shes had 24hr without sickness or the runs :( i felt so bad

My dad has just got DD's cradle out of the loft so we're gonna unpack that to see what condition its in, fingers crossed its ok for jellybean! Just need a new mattress and bedding.

All this earthquake talk - i slept through it! :rotfl: I miss all the good stuff!

Hope everyone has had a good day
