Decided to fill the gap in the menu with spag bol from the freezer.
I made D & DD's marvellous hummus with roasted red pepper for lunch. MMMMM. Also foraged in the fridge and found the last of the stewed apple with sultanas in, so had that with a dollop of hm yoghurt.
I really ought to get my rear into gear and sort things out. Need to get ironing done and clearing up, as client is here for a manicure again tomorrow."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

afternoon everyone
Happy birthday Crazychic - I hope that you have a lovely day.
thanks for all your kind comments about the photos yesterday. I keep having a peek at them!!!
Had a busy morning at work then some shopping. Needed a new outfit for a corporate do tomorrow evening and went to Hobbs as had vouchers for there. The dress I liked was still quite expensive and the lovely shop assistant told me to go buy this issue of grazia as it had a 20% voucher in it! Such a sweet thing for her to do and ended up meaning I got a fab new dress for hardly anything!
I also ahd to nip to laura ashley for a fabric sample and took advantage of their 20% off promotion - I am making cushions for our bedroom. I also wanted some wallpaper that matches our blinds to use in picture frames to tie the room together (a tip I saw on tv) and was about to buy a roll (and wonder what I was going to do the with the rest) when I thought I would chance my arm and ask for a sample piece. the girl was lovely and gave me three huge samples of that a several other bits - I think I have had a very lucky day!
Off this afternoon to do the weekely shop. Was meant to meal plan last night but didn't get round to it. I'm thinking:
chicken and veggie cous cous
sausages with pea and creme fraich mash
fish with puy lentils and veggies
lamb shanks for sunday roast (in the freezer)
thai chicken curry (in freezer)
and the usual bits and pieces. Must not go over budget and don't need dinner tonight as all ready in fridge
Have a great day everyone xxxr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Crazychic-Happy Birthday!
Hi Guys!
Hope everyone is well. I feel a little more "with it" today but just feel so tired. A friend popped over for a coffee last night and I ended up blubbing:o ...I never really cry, so I think she was abit shocked.
2 washloads done today, DW has been on and emptied and chicken and veg prepped for dinner. Was supposed to be going to friends for dinner, but we have changed to Saturday instead.
OH has done some gardening and we had coffee out there this morning which was lovely. I did a bit of weeding in the pots whilst sitting and really found it theraputive (sp)...we got some winter grasses and they have done well-like looking out the window to see some colour out there this time of year.
The shopping from Ocado came yesterday. They phoned to say that delivery would be about an hour late and refunded £10 off:j :j :j :j and have given me a code for the next shop:beer: ....thanks very much:D
Its my folks 35th in March and dont have a clue what to do...I have had a lovely plaque done for them. I cant find a "coral" anniversary card anywhere? Any ideas??
Anyway, Id better go as I have a hair dye on as it hasnt been done for 5 months and its mahogony...which probably means blood red:eek:     ...wish me luck!!
Seeya
Hugs to all.

Well, I've had an easy day so far, my head is still banging though and my right eye hurts too!!! I went for a lay down earlier, I lay on my right side and my left hand went numb and got pins and needles twice (and it was only resting on my leg, not like I'd been laying on it or anything, so I can't understand that at all!!! Just gonna make another cuppa and have some more painkillers-kids should be home soon!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Good Afternoon All
Thanks again for the birthday wishes, its much appreciated.
DD wrapped up a 2007 secret lockable diary in notebook paper for me this morning. I thought that was the best present ever! Her little imagination is beyond me! She even said sorry its not much! She's only 8.
Ive had a good day, despite recent things happening! Came home from the school run this morning to find OH sitting in the garden waiting with my card! We quickly spoke. Not sure wether its perm split, or just needing the break. TBH Ive been too busy to dwell on matters. Who knows what will happen!
Went to the crem after work, met mum there. Put some nice flowers down for grandad, so now I can get on with the rest of the day! Might treat the kids & me to a KFC for dinner!
Ive been hearing some right stories at work about people's earth quake experience. 1 friend thought they was being haunted and the ghost was moving their bed, another, said she thought she was being burgled again, and her OH was armed with a baseball bat in his boxers, they even called the police. Another said he had too many vodka's the night before, that he thought the drink was playing with his mind & shook his bed! And me...... I never heard a thing!
My dad not long popped in with my card, nice to see him, but he didnt stay long enough for a proper chat! Shame! Its hard trying to build our relationship up again!
Right best be off.
Take care
