Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't really been keeping up with the threads over the last couple of days. Lots going on at home and I'm feeling a bit drained.
I did notice that I'd missed smokybabe's birthday. Belated birthday wishes to you and it's good to hear that you have been getting lots of support.
Crazychik, Happy Birthday! I'm sorry to hear that you and OH have split up but glad that you had a good day today.
tattycath, It's a good thing that they are seeing your DD sooner rather than later...I hope it goes well on Friday.
r.mac, your wedding pics were lovely, thank you for letting us have a peek.
catznine, Penny looks adorable.
mrs_mix, I hope your dad feels better soon. Remember to look after yourself too.
Anniebooklover, I hope the BP medication starts to kick in soon.
shez, have a great time tonight.
To cheer myself up a bit I went with d stepmum to Ikea today and bagged a couple of bargains...cutlery at half price thanks to the family card, a jar for storing spaghetti, and some pretty glasses. Later we went for lunch. I really enjoyed the morning so I'm feeling a lot better.
Tea tonight was leftover lasagne for ds2 and dd as they were in a hurry out to Beavers. Ds1 has been doing a 24 hour fast for charity (he's raised over £60 :j), so Mr Pink and I are showing some solidarity and holding off until 8.45pm when his fast ends to eat with him. Baguettes filled with salad and steak in a pepper sauce was ds's choice, so that's what it'll be. I haven't eaten for 8 hours and I'm ravenous so goodness knows how he feels.
Another good thing happened today...I was speaking to Haribo on the phone this afternoon and we've decided that a break would do us good, so we're planning a girlie weekend in the spring....I can't wait! Nobody could feel down for long with her around!Edinburgh won't know what's hit it! :rotfl:

Pink You & Haribo will be able to meet up with Granny while you're in Edinburgh.
I think she doesn't live far away.
I'm sure she'll get back to you.
Tattycath <hugs> Good wishes for Friday.
Catz Your puppy is soooo cute. Nice name too.
Shez Glad your Mum had a good flight. Why can't a nice male attendant look after me.Stamps foot.
Well I wasn't going to come on this am as I"m off to meet my sister today. But I woke up and had to gargle with salt & water as my throat was hurting. Took some nurofen with brekky and if all else fails will have to use sign language. But I'm going no matter what. See ya later. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Evening all
dd11 watching torchwood so I've got the computer - yay. Trouble is I'm trapped here now as I'll have to cross the hallowed screen of Torchwoodness to get out of the living room. I'm already in trouble cos I set an alarm so she wouldn't miss it but hit snooze instead of off so it's just gone off again, therebye bringing her back down to earth - oh and I'm typing loud again.
Bad day at w*rk - some Head Honcho wanted to come in and watch a videolink court that I was in charge of but it kept going wrong and I'm a complete technophobe.
Need to orgaise my Mother's Day Extravaganza soon as the girls are hopeless - they haven't really gone beyond "let's all go to the chinese buffet - but you'll have to pay cos we're skint" - getting woollies vouchers from dd22 - i never shop there and there isn't one near so am guessing that she got some from someone and is giving them to me - hey ho
tea tonight was a chickpea fritata which sounds disgusting but was actually really nice.I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Evening everyone.
Crazychick, hope your day has been good despite the split - and hope that's not permanent.
Smoky, sorry to read last night's update, I do hope things stabilize soon, you must be so worried at present.
My day's not been too bad, but I am so, so tired. Will just spread washing around on the radiators and head for bed I think! Take care everyone!Resolution:

Hi There
Smoky - thanks for last night's update and sorry your DH still not doing good - please keep in there.
Crazychick - happy birthday. Emma just read one or two back-tracked posts. Sorry to hear things have gone pearshaped. PM me if you need support. Love and extra special hugs. I will try and catch up at work tomorrow.
This is much as I have done today. Came home from work and done more moving out from the kitchen and totally emptied cupboard under the stairs as that is where existing freezer going when kitchen done. Rechecked measurements and yes, thank goodness, freezer is going to fit. The whole house now in turmoil. Hall carpet coming up tomorrow night as I have another special uplift on Friday. Have 6 bags now of total rubbish, old bookcase plus carpet to go. Neighbour coming in tomorrow to help move heavy bookcase out to the pavement.
Bought Polyanthus and Tete a Tete daffs at B&Q today just to cheer me up. There is life after the kitchen. Also bought Cat Pepperdust to detter the latest young cat - I like cats but not when they use my garden as a litter tray!
Just seen realised an Edinburgh meet on - I am up for it as not far away. Does anyone need a bed here?
Sorry to the rest of you - I have too much going on just now to be in the loop totally. Please take care and love and hugs to you all.

Evening everyone
We were taken out for lunch today by some friends. Don't really appreciated red wine at lunch, but the food was good, and I should have known better and have ended up with a headache tonight. Managed to clear the ironing mountain, and also shortened a pair of trousers for DH to wear today.
Birthday wishes C-Chick, (((hugs)))
((HUGS))) also Smokybabe, Pen-Pin, Mrs_M, redruby and everyone else I've forgotten, but not working on all channels. Think and early night is called for.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hello everybody,
Happy birthday Crazychick:bdaycake:
One year old to-day...as an MSEer that is...sorry that I haven't kept an account of the money I've saved since, just know that there always seems to be money in bank now...unheard of for me.
Hugs to all those who are having a bad time one way or another...life's like that I have found, you are motoring along at your normal speed and then something, or several somethings, knocks you for six...and then you have to dust yourself off and start all over again...at your own pace is the only way to go.
DDIL and DGD 2 gone back to Holland, to continue their clear out for return to living in Ireland in June...actually DDIL has never lived here but is very keen, hope that everything works well for their move...it will be lovely not to have to deal with Aer Fungus when I want to see them, no matter where they settle in Ireland it won't be too far away.
Night all,

grannybroon,Nothing is set in stone yet...we haven't even decided on a date, let alone where we'll go. Edinburgh was the first thought but I was speaking to Haribo again this evening and she's now making noises about a week in South America!
meanmarie...congratulations on your first year on MSE
donny-gal, I'm so glad that donny boy is better now, it must have been a dreadful scare for you.

Evening all.
Crazychick - happy b'day, and as someone else said, hope the split goes whichever way it is supposed to.
My day off today, though I went into work for an hour at lunchtime - Learning Lunch on (free food!) about a course Park Lane College, Leeds are running. Its a free course in Nutrition and Health. I've signed up for it. Should take until May to do - distance learning. We got all the workbooks etc today, and will have a few assessor meetings through the course to check I'm happy with everything and to check my progress.
DH is having a bit of a cleaning binge. Think its because he wants to go to the allotment all day tomorrow, and knows I won't be happy with it if this place is a mess. He has to maintain here as well as going down there.
Hugs to anyone who wants or needs them,
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Pssst..... granny..... you can't really call it a meet. Pink and I met 34 years ago when she was already 10 years old.
DLB... Sorry you're having problems with your sister. Believe me I know what it's like to have a difficult sibling. :shhh:  :silenced:
