Wow- puts me to shame!
I got the Nokia N98 8GB when it first came out over a year ago and was put out at being a competitor to the Iphone etc etc.
I was quoted the lowest tarriif for this to be free was £40 a month. I checked all the other stores and the cheapest I could find was vodaphone for £35 a month for around 300 texts 300 calls.
I got it down to £25 a month with 3 mobile (apparently down to customer loyalty) and 1100 free minutes and texts around 500 (can't actually remember as I had the phone stolen and after replaceing it again, having it stolen again....decided to stop the mobiles and save some real money!).0 -
After reading your article I called O2 my mobile phone provider as my contract was due for renewal. I was on a £20 rolling contract for 400 mins and 500 texts I tried to call for an upgrade a few times but their deals just weren't competitive so I asked to be put through to disconnections. They said they would give me the phone I wanted (£300 worth) 600 mins 1000 texts unlimited internet access all for £25 a month! Thanks for your help Martin it does work!Target £5k in 1 year

Just rang up & got my package reduced by £19pm:D and I wasn't even really trying. that's on top of the £9.50pm I was saving after I rang them last time to complain about losing the Sky channels0

I have Virgin broadband, phone and TV (for free which I don't use). I wanted to upgrade my existing wired broadband system with a wireless system and was told I had to buy (yes!!! BUY!!!!!!) a wireless router for £40. They give these out to new customers and were not prepared to give me one for free although I've been a customer with them since 2003. A quick phone call to the 'retentions' department, a threat to cancel and move the whole lot to Sky (I also have Sky TV) and the router was despatched to me free of charge and my bill was permanently reduced from £33.50 to £26, which I considered a good result.0

What BB package are you on?0 -
Called Sky and said I wanted to cancel because Freeview was (finally) coming to our area - they initially offered a new Sky+ box @ £99 + £60 installation; I declined that, and they then offered a free refurbished box + £30 installation. Sold the old Sky box on Ebay for £15, so it was a pretty cheap upgrade!
We're on the £17.50/month package - I guess if you're on a more expensive one, you may get a better deal still...
Good luck!0 -

hhhmmm , I have been told that but it let a virus onto my machine so not so sure about the excellent bit!0 -
I phoned the AA last year telling them I could get RAC for £35, instead of the £80 the AA wanted to charge me. They offered to match the price.
When TalkTalk insisted that the problem with our internet was down to our faulty router (not theirs) And I kept on insisting it wasn't. they wanted me to pay for one, but buckled in the end and sent one for free. I was right and it wasn't the router it was a problem of theirs, but I have a shiney new router. I had to listne to their blasted theme tune for hours though.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
