I wanna be mortgage free!

I take it the angry builder isn't the same builder you had round?
I definitely think its worth contacting the council about the house extension, while you probably will get decent students living there there's always those who create havoc. It maybe worth mentioning the agreesive builder too.
Here's hoping you're still in bed and recoveringCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Just woke up and still exhausted! Its daft now. Calling the docs at 1.30pm to try and get a sick note for next week....don't know if I'll get one though I've never asked before and don't really know what to do.
Aye, I'll look into the council thing...and no fortunately it's not our builder!
OH is now looking at coming back from Wales every weekend because he really wants the dog! Give me strength. I honestly don't think I can cope. Then moving at Easter to accom that does take pets so that we can take the dog down there more. We did the maths and we can afford it. Hope you managed to get another week off - even if you don't need the whole week, its better not to go back until you think you are ready. Loads of teachers have had time of with swine flu its not just your classes, so don't worry about them and think of you!
Anyway, sound like you have found a puppy to occupy your mind!
I really want a cat, but we haven't got one (money and flexibility of being able to go away when we want) but drove past a little sign saying free kittens the other day and was sooooo tempted!!!
Sure you'll make the right choice!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Thanks earthgirl. I have to call back on Monday but have been told I'll get a sick note anyway.
As for the dog, we probably wouldn't take it down to Wales regularly until it was older anyway...by which time he could have moved. Hmmmm.... We shall see. I'm going to talk it over with the lady as well - see what her thoughts on the matter are. If she's not happy it's a no go anyhoo - decision made.
My folks live round the corner and NEVER go away so said they'd be happy to come and puppy sit/walk during the week. And if they can't do it then we have 3 other fall back options (all family who live less than a 15 minute walk away). To be honest once it's old enough to go on walks it would be getting walked with mum and her dog anyway on the park by our house. We use dog walking as an excuse to catch up...
I'm still thinking it over and trying to go with head rather than heart. I know we can afford it though, so it's more the would it be suitable for a puppy, type scenario.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Right, I'm getting there. Still sleeping silly amounts but don't feel as ill as I did...just wiped out now. I'm hoping I get another week off work and then I hope I'll be back ready for action!
I've also managed to secure myself a MS for the 19th (a food job) to cheer me up and make me feel useful again - it's round the corner from my house! :j
Right, todays plan is to:- [STRIKE]clean kitchen with OH (so I can have a sit down if I need too), [/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]batch cook a casserole,[/STRIKE] lasagne and sheps pie (again with oh - allowing me to rest).
- Supervise OH cleaning out the guinea pigs (we are pig sitting for my friends) [STRIKE]and then put a wash on.[/STRIKE]
Thats more than enough activity for me for one day I think.
Tomorrows jobs:- [STRIKE]Call doctors for sick note.
- Email school to let them know when I plan on returning[/STRIKE]
- File some invoices
- Tidy piles of stuff on my desk
- Do clothes wash
- Hang out clothes wash.
Think thats enough - nothing too taxing and things that I can leave mid job.
I want to try and do a little more each day. If I can't manage it, I'll admit defeat and adjust my plans. I'm beyond fed up with being ill though! Grr.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Ok, so I didn't quite get through everything... Courgette I think you might be right. I think I bite off more than I can chew. So I've given up now. On the plus side the casserole used some Newcastle Brown Ale....soooo I'm having my first taste of alcohol in nearly 2 weeks! A little bit from the bottle...OH is finishing everything else.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Was trying to plan my christmas based pressies for OH. It's his birthday, our 2nd wedding anniversary and christmas all in the space of 3 weeks.
I have bought him a cotton dressing gown for the anniversary, a weekend away for his birthday in the lakes AND am debating what to get him for christmas.
Was torn between an ipod touch and a coffee machine. His ipod has broken...and he loves music. He loves coffee and his coffee machine broke. He's moving down to Wales and so I'm trying to decide which he'd appreciate more....I'm leaning towards the coffee machine. Any suggestions?Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Well I can't stand coffee but I know he loves the stuff. Especially on a cold morning - and I'm thinking it could be MSing long term because it might stop him going to Starbucks all the time. :rotfl:Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
