Right, I'm thinking today I'll get the parcels posted and OH will apply for his new job - although closing date is tomorrow so he better hope he can do it online or it's too late! He does my head in. Should be called last minute man! In fact we just had a little argument because of me trying to get him out of bed!!!
I also want to try and do more resources for SOW and sort my yr 9 lessons out for first 2 weeks. I think that's doable! If I get cracking soon.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Bit of a busy day tomorrow. Got to drop the car off at the garage for 8.30am, then rush back home to let the builder in at 9am. Then it's on with school work while the builder does his thing!
I'm hoping he won't stay too long though because I want to work in the office. Have to stay downstairs though because the back door will be open so he can use our electricity to work the cement mixer. Still, if it's raining he won't come at all...could be a bonus!
OH went into town today and bought us some BIG pans for batch cooking and we've come up with a list so that we can buy all the ingredients and batch cook on Saturday. He is surprisingly excited by the idea...so we shall see.
Right, just need to look up two sauces and then I need to do the banking and update my spreadsheet. Phew! I'm pooped now.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Right so car is at the garage and I'm just waiting to let the builder in (when he turns up - he arranged it with OH and he didn't tell me whether he was coming for 9 or 10). He's going to lay the first course of block so OH can do the damp proofing and concrete tomorrow.
Once thats sorted I plan to work, work, work today and get as much as possible done. Do a full work day today. Boo. But this time tomorrow I'll feel pretty good about it and can just get back to the SOW! ARGH!
EDIT: Builder has been and gone so I'm free to chill out a bit now. Don't have to keep listening out and can get down to some proper work! Yawn. Might have lunch first.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Hope you get good progress before the weather closes in. Autumn has arrived here in East Anglia with a bang (literally with the thunder and lightening yesterday) and has continued with cool temperatures and now more rain.0

Sounds like your still having summer to me Stuart!! Grab your coat and come up North...you'll skip autumn and go straight to winter. Thus far rain has kept waiting till we've finished and then having his fun.
Just been stiffed by the garage. DH is NOT happy.
We bought a loyalty card from VW that gives us free MOT's and discount off any work done etc May 2008. However, our car was written off in Feb 2009 and we purchased a new one (well second hand) from VW. So we never actually used the loyalty card thus far.
The new one went in for an MOT today. The person on the phone said the loyalty card covered the cost of the MOT so there would only be the extras to pay for (the valet and brake fluid change).
This was confirmed when I left the car this morning. However, when I went to pick up the car they stated I owed £100. Apparently the card is car specific. This was not mentioned to us when we purchased it and we have no paper work stating that this is the case.
I had to pay the money as we needed the car back tonight. But we are going to go in and complain. Does anyone have any advice or tips on what we should say.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Ouch
Well firstly stay calm, polite and firm. Point to the facts and ask them to prove otherwise, have all paperwork available and if the staff member is there who confirmed also, gently note them to the Customer Service Manager.
Is there anything on VW's web site?
Have you checked for any forum posts online related to the card; others may have had the same problem?
How much was the card?
Is there another VW dealership you can call beforehand to see what they say? Remember, the money is made on the servicing, so if you can threaten to take it elsewhere to one who will honour it then that's good leverage!
HTH and good luck0 -
Right, I'm about to get down to a day of work. Got slightly side tracked by trying to organise my utilities this morning. But think I've done ok. I could get a cheaper deal but with two seperate companies. Last time we did this we had a whole host of problems and ringing up two companies was a headache. So I've opted to pay more and stay with one for the next 12 mths. Then I'll re-evaluate and possibly go to two if it's cheaper...especially if I'm settled in a new job by then!
