I've cheered up today. I think I was just tired yesterday. Going to Manchester tonight to watch Ross Noble so that will put a big smile on my face anyhoo.

Been and gone...he was excellent as per. Gotta love Ross Noble

Right, I've decided we need a new mattress because ours is hurting me. It's a cheap old one thats been battered something terrible. Sooo I've been researching what to buy but to be honest....I'm a little swamped by the madness of it all. Ah well.

    Any advice?

  • My friend has a motto of always buying the best bed and boots you can - you spend your life in one or the other!

Try loads in a shop, take your OH with you as it's important to see the effect of your joint weight, and take your time - you need to lie for a good few minutes to get a real feel for it. And think about buying new pillows at the same time - it can make all the difference!

Right, having a doing day today. Paid £200 off the credit card (gonna wait till it shows on statement before I knock it off my total though).

Going into town to get a form to claim tax back, pay in my premium bonds winnings and £100 that my folks gave me (they are paying me back) which I'll chuck at the credit card.

Going to a bed shop or two on the way home to lie on some mattresses...I've spent a fair bit of time researching them now so am pretty confident I can get a decent deal! Then B&Q to look at a new bathroom and doors and stuff for the kitchen. They have a good deal out at the moment so think it's time for a look.

We don't have to buy, but are in a position to buy if we need too. Then it's back to the laundry...I tell you, it doesn't feel like I've bought a washing machine yet! ha ha (roll on its arrival).

Right so I'm REALLY struggling with the idea of not snowboarding next year and have found myself starting to research holidays. OH and I have come up with a deal....dog or holiday. We should know by Friday what the plan of action is. I want both...ha ha.

Still struggling with the mattress choosing. There is sooooooo much choice, it's ridiculous. Looking at a La Romantica one now but nowhere near me sells them.

On a moneysaving note, I've sold my old phones for just over £35 and the gas and electricity bills are reducing nicely. Fingers crossed I can make more money appear when I had in my tax back form tomorrow.
