I wanna be mortgage free!

Right nothing much interesting has happened. Had to withdraw £1000 from my ISA to pay for the shower etc. The annoying thing is that my OH has been really slack with all his work and is now rushing it a bit. But it doesn't look like hes going to get time to sort out the shower before we go on holiday now. And he has no more time to take off when we get back.
Anyway, we are going on another Orca survey on the route we have set up between Heysham and the Isle of Man. Soo fingers crossed we see something. Thats on Thursday and then on Friday we are going away on holiday! Yey!!
Thats very exciting. We kinda have no money to take with us, but nevermind!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

HI, I love the Isle of Man we'll have to go again one day - have friends there.
Hope you have a lovely holiday.0 -
Cheers evab.
The Isle of Man thing got scrapped already due to the ferry company putting the prices up too much. So thats not happening now. But I still go on holiday on Friday no matter what! Yey.
I can't wait. It's been a hell of a year what with people dying, being diagnosed as terminal, a friend being murdered and getting caught up in that, doing my PGCE and having my baby Rat put down. So I'm ready for a rest.
Incidently, good look with the birth Evab, I'm guessing you will probably of had the baby either before I go or by the time I get back at least. Hope it's all over quickly and you get your beautiful boy all ready for some cuddles.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Thanks downs, glad I can keep someone amused!
I think I've got that Monday feeling today. Just can't seem to get going. Tried doing some more medium term planning for school but my heart just isn't in it. So I think I'm going to make some resources instead. Or at least thats the way it's looking at the minute. I've stuff to cut up and laminate anyway, which strikes me as constructive.
After all it is all very time consuming, so if I get it out of the way now rather than going to watch TV I figure I'm being a good girl really. :j
I'm currently bidding on a little greenhouse on ebay which I'm winning. Think there is still over 24 hours to go on it yet though. I really want one, cos come Feb next year, I'm gonna grow my own veg and take it v seriously. I figure I will have had an opportunity to buy the things I need by then and have done the research for it.
Finally starting to get the OH on board with it all! :j I knew he'd come round eventually.
In other slightly more intimate matters (sorry and look away now if your easily upset). I tried a Mooncup this time when on my period, rather than tampons. I'm a total convert. It's reusable so no landfill additions like with tampons. And it actually helped reduce the length of my period (at least thats what I'm attributing it to) and I had no cramps like I usually do.
It was a little difficult to remove the first couple of times but now I'm like an old pro. :rotfl: I know many of you will be repulsed by it and think I'm a loon, but if you interested in the idea of it, then I'll be happy to answer your questions if I can.
Anyway, I suppose I should go about being constructive. YAWN!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I'm looking into starting some exercise classes. But the thing is. Which ones? I know I defo want to do yoga (used to do it every week), but then I'm a bit stumped.
I'm also thinking of doing a beginners course on the climbing wall at the leisure centre (however, my school will have one of those so I might be able to do that there). I just feel the need to keep fit. Any suggestions based on what you guys like doing?Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Ok I think I've figured out what I'm going to do on the fitness front - this is after I get back from my holiday obviously!
Yoga on a Thursday, Swimming one day of the weekend, do the climbing course and also use the steam room at the leisure centre. Ignoring the climbing course (which would be £50 2hrs per week for 5 weeks), I get any exercise class, gym, swim, steam room etc all for £25 per month at my local council run leisure centre. I also get the choice of 2 leisure centres.
So I'll start yoga when I get back from holiday, then add the swimming and steam room on. Then it will be the climbing course when the next session starts providing I have a 5 week block when I can fit it in around school. Phew.
We shall see if that all actually happens though, but thats the plan up to now anyway. lolReduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

From one loon to another - Yay for the Mooncup!I converted almost a year ago, and feel much better for it (physically, environmentally and financially!) :j I only wish I'd discovered it years ago!

Thanks momminyak, glad it's not just me then!!
OOOh just found out cos I'm a teacher technically employed by the council, I get a pretty heavy discount if I join the council gym (as mentioned in a previous post). How good!
So when I get back from my holiday I think thats something that will be getting sorted!! If I pay it up front rather than in installments it will cost £360 for both me and OH to join! Woop woop. Otherwise it's £35 per month which is £420.
Hmmm...I knew I was teaching for a reason....now I know what that reason is! Cheap gym membership....ha ha ha.
Speaking of which, I better crack on and plan those last 2 year 8 modules I wanted to get done before I go on my hols.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Ok so the holiday was lovely, but not nearly long enough. We got back pretty late on Saturday, Sunday was spent doing some washing and sorting (although we don't have a tumble dryer so can only do 2 lots at anyone time).
Monday we got a bit carried away, and bought climbing shoes for us both and chalk balls and bags. I also bought some new clothes for school and underwear since I was developing 4 boobs in all my bras. Ha ha.
Anyhoo, then on Tuesday we FINALLY went on our ORCA survey to the Isle of Man. The captain and crew of the ferry were fantastic and I couldn't say enough nice things about them. The unfortunate thing is that we didn't see any wildlife, which was a bit of a disappointment.
Today I spent the day at home, and have been doing bits and pieces but just don't feel like I've actually done anything. Maybe I should do a list. I can't really be bothered though.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
