My little rattie is poorly. Her eye went all white and swollen. So I took her to the vets yesterday and she has oral antibiotics to take twice a day and an antibiotic cream to be put onto her eyeball twice a day.

It does look a little less inflamed today I reckon, but I think her eye itself has had it. I'm hoping it is just an eye infection thats done it, the alternative is some sort of tumour. If it is, she'll probably end up getting put down cos theres not a lot we can do for her.

On a more positive note, little George is getting bolder. If we take the lid off her cage she comes out on to your hand. What a good little hamster. She's very interested in us all of a sudden, so I'm taking that as a positive step. Yey.

As for the OH...he's off today and is STILL in bed. Hmmmm....

Taking my rat back to the vets later. She tried scratching her poorly eye out yesterday so I'm quite concerned. She's an old lady now and I'm not sure if she's gonna pull through it. Fingers crossed.

On a lighter note, I've been good as gold today. Washed duvet and pillows just about to put the bedding in the wash too. I've also managed to plan a module for Yr 7 and yr 8. Just doing some card sort resources that I could have done with when teaching this year. So that they are all there ready and waiting come September. Yey.

Right, time to get on task with the rest of the days jobs. I still need to put cheque into my bank for the exam invigilation that I did. Hmmm....

  • Really sorry about your rat. I've had pet rats and they are such good pets. They actually like to play with humans. Sadly I can't have one now as I have dogs, and one of the dogs has an obsession with wanting to kill small cute critters!

Are you going to get another?

Not at the minute. Its too raw. I know she was only a rat, but she was my little rat. She was ace. Anyway, I'm just happy to play with OH's hamster at the moment (whom, I might add has fallen asleep in the trousers he took off before when he changed into shorts...ha ha ha).

I can't believe how upset I've been this evening though. It's mad.

Feeling less guilty today. I know I did the right thing, poor baby.

Anyway, I'm gonna pick myself up and dust myself down and carryon. I got awful news last night, one of my old work mates was on holiday in Spain with her family when her husband dropped dead. How awful is that?? He was only in his 40's.

Anyway, moving on to more light hearted matters, I got a conditional acceptance on the the Masters course, they are just waiting on my certificate to say I have QTS which I don't even have myself yet, so thats ok.

So it looks like I'm back in education....ARGH!

Anyway, I did that much housework yesterday that aside from the washing up we created last night there isn't a great deal for me to do.

I also found my first wrinkles on my forehead at the top of my nose. From frowning so much yesterday I reckon. I'm only 27, how rude.

Anyway, I've got lots of school prep to keep me occupied....so off I go.

I am so sorry about your poor rat. I had to have my lovely Syrian hamster put down in April and it broke my heart. Rodents do make excellent pets and Pug was one of my best friends, I am just lucky that he lived to a grand old age and I had him for two of those years.

I now have a white russian dwarf who is very cute but not quite so affectionate.

Hopefully August should be a good MFW month for me, I am aiming for a 500 payment and that would be great! I just need to Ebay a bit to raise some cash for wedding pressies and some holiday money. Quidco should be paying out about 52.50 so that will be a huge help!

I'm stalling on the money front until the end of September...till first pay cheque. I feel like I'm a right waster but I guess there's not a lot else I can do. Doh!

I'm just eating into all my savings at the mo. Even part of my ISA. It's quite upsetting after all the effort of saving it.

Anyway after a spot of moping around today I'm going to kick the school prep's !!! tomorrow! I am!!!!

Got the payment incentive from ETS for marking the scripts to the deadline. I was a day out but nevermind. I'll take the extra £100.

Kinda already spent most of it anyway. My bank account looks ok at the moment, however, the car insurance is just about to come out. And we spent £40 on a hamster cage yesterday. It wasn't me, it was the OH. It's all singing all dancing though and George seems to like it anyway.

I've not done too bad on ye old work front but not anywhere near as well as I should have done. So I'm off to grab a shower (I'm a bit smelly), then make a sandwich and crack on with some laminating...yawn.

I've planned another couple of lessons this morning though which I'm happy about.
