OS Monday 25 Feb

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 24th February 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi

Been asleep since 9,00 last night so I think I can qualify to start the thread. Rather tired but OK having three DGSs on my own. They were really good in their own way and at their own time!!!!!!!!

Have a good day.

Morning all - haven't posted here for a while but I have been lurking! Been to bed twice and got up again - insomnia back with a vengance! Got to get up for work in less than 4 hours and still no sign of sleep.

Off to clean the kitchen - that always sends me to sleep! Be back later x x

Good morning grannybroon, penguin83 and everyone else to follow,

I hope you both manage to get back to sleep soon. I can’t sleep either, so I’ve given in and got up to make a drink….I made the packed lunches while I was at it, so hopefully that’ll be a bit of time saved in the Monday morning rush.

Today will be a busy one for me....the house is the usual tip after the weekend so that will my first job. I have to go into town to get to the building society, this afternoon I need to bake a cake then pick the boys up after school and take them shopping so that they can choose presents for dh’s birthday on Tuesday....not like me to leave these things to the last minute!;) :o

Sausages are defrosting in the kitchen so it will be sausage something or other for tea tonight.

    mumoftwins and Squiggly Diddly, welcome!
Haribo, I'm glad you survived the weekend. ;)
dory, good luck with the new job today.
smoky, hoping it’s better news when you visit your dh tomorrow.
redruby and stefejb, thinking of you both xx

    Have a good day everyone,

Morning to all you early birds and welcome to the newbies. I only had time to scan the thread over the last couple of days because I've got the de-cluttering bug; I'll try and catch up later.

(((Hugs))) to SMOKY, REDRUBY and all who need them.

I spent most of yesterday turning out the filing cabinet and other office drawers and, for the first time ever, all the paperwork is up to date and easy to find. It won't last long. I was really tired over the weekend, too. As soon as I sat down on the sofa I dozed off - I think I must make a real effort to go to bed earlier. I was hoping knitting would keep me awake but I fall asleep whie I'm doing that!

Plan today is to do the ironing I should have done yesterday, have a quick whizz round with the hoover and visit the gym then come back and re-organise all my craft stuff. It has all been shoved in a chest of drawers and it's very hard to find things so I've emptied it all on to the spare bed ready to sort out properly.

Well, I'm going to have a shower now so will call back in later.

    Morning all,

Pink Bit early in the morning to have a drink isn't it? but I suppose with your drinking problem, not really. :D
Moiliere Fingers crossed that you get it all done.
Penguin & Granny I hope you managed a few more hours kip.
    MrsMix

Well I haven't got as much done as I'd hoped. DGS & XDIL came around at 11am and they are still here. I did make a loaf of bread & a new cake which tastes lovely. It has a caramel filling in the middle. I started on my cushion cover when DGS was asleep. I'll finish it off tomorrow.

Will pop back later. Hope you all have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Good Morning :hello:

Rubbish night's sleep so I gave up and will no doubt be asleep at my desk later.

Have to go to the office every day this week which means I need to be super organised at home. After work I want to nip to a few charity shops as they seem to be getting alot of things in that I like (old medicine bottles, crochet stuff etc), go to the bank and nip into Tesco.

There's yet more ironing to be done and the bathroom needs a decent clean.
Bacon quiche, spuds and salad for tea and hopefully an early night.

Hope everything's ok Ruby and thinking of you and OH today Smoky. xxx
Good luck with the new job Dorry.

    Morning everyone

It's wet and windy here, perfect weather for hopping back into bed and not going to wo*k. Unfortunately that's but a dream, I gotta go and earn a few pennies.

I managed to get Teddy the cat cleaned up yesterday after his close encounter with a puddle of olive oil. That was fun, giving a cat a bed bath lol.

Has anybody seen Ireland's entry to the Eurovision song contest? I am mortified... a singing stuffed turkey. OMG the shame!!!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7261164.stm

Smokey and RedRuby, I am thinking of you both and hope that both your situations show some improvement over the coming days.

Rubbish night's sleep so I gave up and will no doubt be asleep at my desk later once I have emptied this current bottle of voddy.

After work I want to go to a few charity shops as they seem to be getting alot of things in that I like (old medicine bottles, crochet stuff etc), go to the bank and into Tesco, all in the nip which I find helps gets me to the front of the queues pdq.

Haribo Junkett have you no shame?!??!!!

    Have a lovely day all.

    Morning All

At work again. Feeling better as there is light at the end of the tunnel. Just the thought that I could be getting out of here has taken a huge weight off my shoulders. My mother's not happy that I want to leave here though. Tough!

Got to see the building society again today to get more cash for the flat.

Checked the £2 jar yesterday - £34:T Think I may pay it into the bank when I get £40 in there. Need to pay some pin money in too.

Hugs to all those who didn't sleep.

    Hope everyone's ok
