Has anyone tried asda own brand dried yeast in their panny??
Mine hates it and the results are unpredictable last nights bread is a right mess.
I`ll have to get some of the yeast i was using before later today i can`t believe the results can be so different for the same loaf!!.

I was going to try Asda yeast after my Hovis ran out, perhaps I won't bother now0 -

I always used it, with acceptable results. Lately I'm using Hovis as it came free with Hovis flour on offer from MorrisonsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I love my Panny but... the last two white loaves I have made, the paddle has got stuck in the loaf! I only got in in December!0

Well the panny wont be going on tonight as DH forgot the yeast he was supposed to be picking up on the way home and everywhere is closed now apart from the 24/7 asda and it`s too far to go for just one thing.
I`ll go and get some tomorrow and let you know if the bread is back to normal or not.
Here`s hoping it`s the yeast and not my lovely panny thats at fault.
It could just be a bad batch but i prefer the other brand i was using, it just seems better and i get more bread out of it.
Seems strange as well as i`m pretty sure the pack weighed the same but the Asda was a bit cheaper, false economy there it seems.
I`ll let you know when i`ve made a loaf with the new yeast.

This just started happening with mine recently - I spray the prong thing and paddle with a little olive oil and it seems to do the trick. I have one of those pump spray thingys from Lakeland.
Twice I have tried to bake the basic loaf (white) on the rapid programme and I have to say my Panny does not seem to like doing it. It comes out much flatter than the longer programme. I use it mainly for my sons sarnies, it is all far too fattening for me, so will have to find out what he thinks of it!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
