I am in love with my Panasonic breadmaker

Cut the bread with good sharp serrated bread knife, do not press down hard on the bread that's why it squashes, start with a gentle sawing action without pressing and do this all the way down. I do have a nice sharp bread knife, it was from woolies a couple of years ago, think it might be one of these JML things, two in a pack. It is brilliant though and it was not expensive.
It was advertised as being able to cut a coke can in half and still be sharp enough for other things.
I do have a more expensive one from Fenwicks which I only use for bread, but the cheaper one cuts bread AND joints of meat.0 -
One other thing, how long does it take for the beep to add the raison/fruit from starting the baking process.
Thanks.
I have tried timing this, but it does seem to vary so can't give an answer
I think the variation is due to ambient temperature, the Panny senses warmth hence the wait at start of cycle, and guees same with beepEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I have a Panasonic SD253 and when I saw the SD254 on offer at Amazon I convinced my sister to get one. She asked me if I could get the flour etc when I was at the supermarket so I bought her all the ingredients needed included powdered milk. Next time I saw her she asked what the powdered milk was for, I said it was in all the recipes in my SD253 instruction manual but strangely none of the recipes in the official instruction manual for the SD254 say powdered milk
Any ideas why this might be?0 -

I have the SD253 as well, but I've never added milk powder or vitamin C either.
My loaves have always turned out fine!0 -
I only used the powdered milk once in my Panny, it doesnt really make the bread any better so is an unecessary expense0

I only ever use powdered milk too, the SD254 has no milk in the recipes, powdered or otherwise
My bread tastes lovely with the powdered milk, just can't understand why they have such different recipes.0 -

I have the SD254 and don't use powdered milk in it. I have made a milk loaf thats in the recip book though and that was lovely, the recipe said to use ordinary milk for that, so I did and bread was lovely:cool:Trying to be frugal and sensible with my pennies.0
