The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread!

Hiya jo and co,

I hope you're all having a lovely, relaxing Friday night.

I have been very ill today, having succumbed to the sauce yesterday.

..was in the pub at 11.55am, drinking my first pint of Guinness :-/

This became a few, which in turn became several, which then went on to become a fully - fledged bender to behold..

I stupidly ended up getting a train to a city about 45 minutes away, just so I could get out of it, without risking bumping into anyone I knew. I've done this before, and it's become a very bad habit over the years.

Still can't believe just how I managed to blow £60 in one day.. :-/

A complete waste.

Embarrassingly, I had to run to the loo in the pub, to be sick. Sorry, too much information!

The booze has an almightly hold over me, but I am now determined to clamber back onto the wagon, take stock, and take back control over my Life.

I met a lovely Lady last December, and I don't want to lose her!

She's coming over tomorrow evening, and we're planning a romantic evening in, with chicken and pasta, a film and my limit will be half a bottle of vino.

The clock seems to be working for me Ok. It says Day 1 to cutting down/stopping. I am giving it a proper go tomorrow Leigh. Why not come with me ??????. If not that is not a problem and I wish you all the best. I do want to lose what I have and I need to change

Eh?!

No, re the clock, I meant the time next to our posts - well it's not the right time, as it says for example you posted just now at 6.09pm, when in fact it was 8.09pm!

Nothing major..I need to get out more :rotfl:

Not quite. Aiming to cut down. I drink up to 12 cans a night when I am not working. That has got to go and a more enjoyable, not controlled, way of life beckons.
I am neglecting those nearest to me for the sake of a beer can.

I may in the future look forward to half a lager on a summer evening instead of 10 pints and think I have had a good time . Pity I am the only one who thinks that.:o

Go into your User CP, then Options, then make sure you're in the right time-zone.

I've just discovered that MSE is showing up in the wrong timezone!

How on earth do I change it? Can't find it in User Cp

Evening everyone.

I think this is the hardest night of the week.Chilling after a hard week.
God.I could kill for a glass of wine tonight so just had a bath and put PJs on so I wont be tempted to walk up shop.
