aww thanks NT thats really lovely of you to say & am so pleased that things are getting better for you! One good thing is that the less I drink the more I realise the negative impact of alch on my body & moods and generally feel alot better when I dont but like many its a hard habit to break!!
I do worry for those for whom alch rules their lives though & just hope that this can be a safe place for all to come & chat, get ideas and, yes at times some tough love....hopefully on a road to health & happiness.... hugs all. Hope people had a good sat with not too much excess?

Morning all
Where are you all
Day 7 for me today, at the end of today it'll be 1 whole week :j
Had a difficult day yesterday, went to the outlaws and obviously it had to be a glorious day didn't it. They are garden people and so the minute we walked through the door we were ushered out into the garden where everyone was sat around with ice cold beers. Normally this is fine as I drive and don't drink there anyway but I know I'll have some when I get home. But this time I was watching these people drinking and knowing that I won't be having any which made me dwell on it a bit. Although after a few hours my step-mother-in-law was quite tiddly and I noticed her eyes were blood shot, her face seemed red and puffy and she was talking nonsense so that's one bonus for not drinking! Because it was so far away we had an hours drive to get home by which time I was knackered. So I had a coffee and went to bed without even thinking about the beer :T
I hope everyone's well today?

Well done Jo. Great Job. - I used to have horrible out laws - I traded them in for some new ones :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
Still hanging on in there - though yesterday was a near miss.
Cut the grass in the sun, and then our field. Came in and could have murdered one or four. Fizzy water and ribena won though.
Just thought of something that might jolt a few people. Talking to the nurse the other day at the centre and she said do you know what a unit of alcohol is? I said something along the lines of so many mils of alcohol?
Actually NO ! One unit is the amount of alcohol that your liver can process in an hour!
So if you have a couple of bottles of 13% wine at night, it will take your liver 19 and a half hours to get rid of it out of your blood.
9 Cans off Stella? - 24 hours !
Scary Huh? Anyway - Andy's thought for the day!
Glad to hear everyone is trying hard - it really does get better - though if you can avoid mowing the lawn in the sun - best to try and do so

Yeah pretty much, but working in the garden is the best one, it's one of the only times you can actually justify cracking open a can in the middle of the day and deserve it!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Damn - that's where I was going wrong - NOT having an excuse :rotfl:

Morning all!!
BHB....... Well done on resisting the temptation, and OMG thanks for sharing the info about units and how long they take to get out of your system I must have been over the limit without realising an many occasions  Another important reason for cutting right back on the drinking.

Where the hell do you live, it's dark as anything here and I reckon it's about to pour down! Congrats on the self control last night :T
Right I'm off out to queue up for petrol before it runs out, the queue went half way down the street yesterday and it was too sunny to sit still in the car like that for an hour so think I'll do it now, otherwise I won't be able to get to work next week......hmmm......;) :whistle:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
