  • Blimey - disappear for a day or two and get completely left behind.

Haven't had a chance to read all the posts yet. Have noticed that some people fancied a new start ;) - so good luck and try your best. Thats all anyone can ask.

Have now replaced one addiction with two - custard doughnuts and fizzy water. :D So now I will put on some weight, I guess. At 9 stone something its not a bad thing and have put on about 4lb since giving up the dreadful stuff.

Now on day 19. The missus bought some alcohol free cider yesterday, I tried a sip and decided my fizzy water tasted better! So had another doughnut as well . :rotfl::rotfl:

Have a great day everyone and hope peoples luck improves.
Thanks again everyone for your support, as I don't think I would be on day 19 without you all.

    Best Wishes
    Andy

    hi all

Well, lots of soul searching this weekend - got mindlessly drunk on Saturday night. Don't remember most of it. Bad. Bruises indicate not good also. :( Trying to deal with quite a bit of self hatred and disgust. Don't want to feel like this anymore.

So I'm on day 3 now of not drinking and also day 3 of realising I don't want to lose what I've got - and if I keep drinking like that I will do from actions that I may do iyswim.

Can't say for sure I'll never drink again, but I've identified a good few people who I won't drink with as we just gode each other on.

Feeling really quite bad today - sore throat. So hope everyone else is feeling better and good luck to those starting over today.

Spent ages writing this earlier & lost it grrrrr. Good morning all.
Take back all I said re no hangovers, I cleared the decks last night for a new start (ie drank the house dry) & this morning I felt truly hideous; had a bad wobble while out with dog 1st thing. Feel a bit better now but it was v scary how I felt earlier - most unusual but maybe good timing having just found this thread - will NOT be drinking today. Ironically it was my usual "ration" & for once did not fall asleep in front if TV, even had 2 mugs of tea & toast before bed & thought I was captain sensible. The real test will be tomorrow when I feel better, I just know I'll want to do it all again. Bloody £10 for last night (nothing on offer!) to feel like this. If I stayed sober I'd have plenty to do counting my money!! Good luck ym (any holes in one?) & Jo.

Leigh - hate to be the one to say it but I don't think you have any comeback. In the 1st 12 months of employment employers are not required to follow any disciplinary procedures of warnings etc they can just get rid without even giving a reason. Hope you find something better.

I get a very bad back when boozing too much- is that my liver shouting at me ?? I always used to put it down to the gym.... yeah right !

Meant to say in my last post, just now, presume that ache down my right hand side is what remains of my liver.

Sea- me too - I always used to have unidentified bruises and cuts after constantly falling over when drunk. That was when I went out though- not so much drinking at home.

Being ashamed is a horrible feeling, one I think we've probably all felt after too much. I wish I could drink normally like others but I never seem to be able to stop after 1 or 2. I have done truly bad things whilst drunk- some I would never ever tell on here !!

Still, moving on- we are all here to improve ourselves !! Look forward not back.

Sea- wow 8 pounds ! that's fantastic. And I know what you mean about non bloodshot eyes ! Used to cost me a fortune in eye drops !!

Well no holes in one But forgot to mention my motto in my first post

    No beer ,No fear.

Just watched a bit of TV whilst having lunch and it is amazing how many drinks people have on the comedy shows. Perhaps it is foremost on my mind at the moment because I would not normally notice :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
