Oh no, hugs to you both Leigh & Basil :(

I'm not sure of the legalities (sp?) of your situation, come on guys, which board/thread can Leigh get advice? Don't let this hiccup (although a major one) spoil your cutting down/stopping efforts though. We are all here for you and trust me, things are always 100% worse when a little worse for wear, especially when you're at the end of the nights drinking and you get emotional, then even worse in the morning when you feel like s!!! and the problem is still there. What line of work do you do, is there a possibilty of getting summat else  (((hugs)))

Basil, was this a total surprise to you? What grounds have they made you redundant? What's your plans, how long you got? (((hugs))) to you too hunny xx

Lurks/YM, I think we should start a 'giving up/cutting down fruit smoothies thread' just to take the onus off us!! :rotfl:

  • Morning all, Gosh such a lot to catch up on had to rewind the posts several times. So a coffee later:rotfl:Basil Cat and Leigh try not to let your situation get you into downward spiral. I was in similar situation worked as nurse for NHS (casualty politics not far off the mark lol!), I resigned, I did take issues to unions, but ended up nearly having a breakdown. Realised hated job, having career break. Looking into counselling (appear to be good at that, well the chating bit;) ). Best advise I can give is to have a week off just chilling and have think where you both want to go now. Then be proactive plan your days and just go for it. New jobs, career change update C.V. You got to make it work for you:)
Hi, Yellow monkey you are you. Keep trying. Read this thread lots. Better than any soap. There's bound to come a time when you get fed up drinking. I sometimes used to get chest pain when I drank too much. Was enough to scarethe !!!!!! out of me. Welcome winebox keep reading thread. May have a point about being lonely. Maybe you need to find something else to do when you feel like a glass of wine. Just don't buy the wine if your that far out in the country you could just stick your head out into the garden and scream when it gets too much :rotfl:Lots of humour and sympathy here.;) . Take care all xx

Hi Jo- thanks.... No, not a total surprise- my company got taken over by a HUGE one in Feb, and since then have been expecting it. But then 2 weeks ago I was told I was safe, and now told this today. Quite glad in a way, as new company are proving themselves to be carp.
And I work in HR Recruitment so think I can manage to get something else !!
Pay off is good also- could be a (good) few thou in the bank and leave as quickly as next week !! Fingers crossed that I get the job I'm going for on Wednesday- that'd be ace !!!

Thanks all- you people are all so lovely- it's starting to feel like the giving up smoking thread though !! (still haven't btw)
Lurks- hugs to Mrs L..... x
