Well enjoyed my steak & chips last night & we shared a bottle of red wine. Had a few cans but feel fine this morning-Is that good or bad:confused: ?!! No-one got in tough to go for a beer in the end which did surprise me,but made it easier not to gve into temptation too:D !Off into town in a minute to spend £25 M&S gift voucher that my Brother & his OH bought us for Xmas. Then this afternoon we are off to a new Chinese restaurant as my Mum is treating us as we bought her a Chinese takeaway last week. It is an all you can eat buffet so we'll make sure we get our money's worth:D ! I'm driving too so won't be drinking until I have a couple of cans later. Back later, all the best!!
Well had a cracking meal at the Chinese restaurant & we're still full from eating at 2pm! Had a couple of cokes & a lager shandy, but my Mum & OH had quite bit of wine! Had a few cans to finish the night off,but not many as at work at 6 in the morning. We both won't be drinking much at all tomorrow. All the best!!

    Hi all,

Hope this finds you all well.

I fell off the wagon in spectacularly unspectacular fashion on Wednesday, after getting grief from some of the guys from my new job

I ended up drinking about 10 pints of Guinness, followed by God knows how many double vodka and tonics.

Thursday was my day off, and I carried on drinking from about 12.30 until around midnight.

Friday and Saturday I was meant to be back at work, but I stupidly didn't go in, as I felt so anxious about the cr*p I was getting from the work colleagues.

So..I sensibly carried on drinking all day Friday and Saturday, and this time, over 10 pints of Guinness again together with lagers and double vodka and tonics. Crazy :o

I also got through around £150 in 4 days, which I can ill afford

Having had phone calls from my boss and an email too, I've replied with an email, explaining just how rude (it was bordering on passive - aggressive subtle bullying..) the guys were on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. I asked him if I could return to work on Tuesday after having a chat face-to-face Tues morning with all of us sorting it out, so I just have to keep my fingers crossed now.

I've felt so flippin' ill since last night, having spent pretty much most of the day in bed.

I'm now worried that I've lost my job / will have to deal with the third degree if / when I return, and all the while feeling anxious = craving a drink to relax..therein lies the problem.

Thanks for letting me offload a bit on here.

    Take Care,

    Leigh.

    Hi Leigh
been in that sort of situation myself before I vowed never to work for anyone else but myself 4 years ago. If the job is so stressful it makes you ill through bad feelings at work or making you drink more to get away from how you feel, believe me mate it's not worth it. I gave up a very stressful management job where I and others were bullied and abused daily and became a self employed decorator. I may not be in the money but it was the best thing I ever did. I am in no way suggesting that you should give up your job but you obviously need to make changes somehow. Don't stress yourself out about Tuesday - go and talk to your boss about it and if you start to feel pressured in the meeting, imagine the boss behind the desk in a nappy, wagging his dummy at you - it really makes you feel more confident

    JWBF xx
  • Me too Leigh.
I used to get bullied at work for years, was in a £25K year job with BT, now in a £9K a year cleaner/caretaker role in a school. Now kicking myself now for not taking the plunge earlier. Life is much much much better now! Better skint and happy I reckon.

PS. 18 days for me and not a drop in sight. Did have a bit of a craving yesterday after a busy day but got through it.

Apologies for my absence for a couple of days - really busy weekend !

Hope everyone is Ok - will take me ages to read and catch up!

Morning all- back on the no drinking again- abstained yesterday but still feel a bit rubbish from the night before.

Leigh- I feel for you and know what you mean about drinking to make you feel better regarding the stress thats going on. However it will make you feel better to have a clear head tomorrow- and today. make sure you write everything down you want to say before the meeting that'll make you feel more in control too. Hugs to you...

Have a meeting about a new job today at work (company's been taken over so my job is changing) then an external interview tomorrow AND wednesday so a pretty important week for me. Definitely need to keep a clear head and stay focussed !!
Have a good day all ;)
