Well so much for my tidying up the kitchen sentiments, all I've done is sit on the laptop (not literally  ) and order pizza and stuff my face.
Right, feeling guitly now, gonna sort the kitchen out.
Any muskahounds around today?

Wow, hello and well done to Bones and Sue, I'm very impressed. 115k, good luck with the AFD today, and everyone else trying for one today.
This is a long post - sorry! I am feeling in a good place after last week. I had half a glass of red wine and 6 AFDs last week. I plan to work out the last time I didn't drink for a week as it was in 2000 or 2001 - need to find out when a friend got married as it was the same week. Their kid was 8 this month!
So, for me Day 3 was the hardest of the week by far and Friday night and Saturday were the next hardest.
Positive changes include clearer skin, better digestion (on a healthy diet regimen too) and no heartburn/indigestion. And I haven't woken up at 4am feeling dreadful, which was a frequent occurence for me and I can now see is 100% related to my drinking although have been denying this to myself for a couple of years.
Other changes - it's been odd going to sleep rather than passing out. I have done way more tossing and turning than usual when I first go to bed. But worth it for the not waking up in the night!
I found it very hard going to pubs and restaurants and not drinking. And the interaction with some of my friends feels a bit different while I'm being quieter and sober with them.
So this week I am planning to be alcohol free all week through until Monday morning. Not sure what my plan is after this two week diet ends as I'm taking it a day at a time at the moment.
Tough things coming up this week - pub tonight, pub Thursday and big party Friday. Most worried about the party on Friday, if I can get through that then I can make my first whole alcohol free week in over six years.0 -
Congratulations WBF and good luck for the coming week
Since this thread started it's amazed me how many 'normal' people have a battle with alcohol...there must be some of my friends, coworkers or family struggling too but I know nothing about it, just goes to show what a taboo subject it is..DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Muskahound reporting in, AFD for me today I have just discovered how much I really have to do - arghghgh.
Hope you are all good. Feeling dreadful still, grumpy (probably stress) and just so tired.
Hope you are all good, Jo catch you later on? HOw many other muskahounds are about? Hope the cupboard tidying goes well ..........chuck the beer BTW..................Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Just wanted to add how unique and important and valuable it has been to me to have a place to be honest with others as this has really helped me start facing up to things myself. I am starting to tear up catching up with the thread over the weekend when I read Fay's thank you about being able to be honest here. Even a week has been a journey and I expect there are may slips and falls to come!0

Just reporting back to say that beer is chucked :T :T :T
It exploded all over my hands and it stinks!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
[STRIKE][/STRIKE]Yay - Well done Jo! Maybe we should all cover something in beer and then we can sniff it later in the week when we feel weak. Although I don't want to go to the party that smelly as it's not ok to smell of old booze until the middle or end of the evening. And you should probably wash your hands soon so this isn't a flyer really.
I'll try and become a muskahound the evenings when I'm at home. For some reason I either drink in the evening and am too embarrassed to come here or haven't [STRIKE]wasted [/STRIKE]spent as much time on line when it's going well.0 -
Lol, that reminds me of those drinkaware ads where the bloke is getting ready for a night out and tips curry all down himself and rips his shirt then they say, you wouldn't want to start a night out like this, so why end like it?
