I have decided to eat a bit healthier from today as well which I think in theory will keep me away from alcohol more, do you know how many calories there are in a pint of lager!

Last night I tried to divide up the evening saying 30 mins for bath, 30 mins talk on phone with friend, 30 mins on net (which turns into 1 and half hours at least usually:p) so I'm keeping myself occupied and away from the idea of drinking.

Well it worked yesterday so I will try it again tonight.

I have no cash in my purse to buy any alcohol so that helps too!;)

(I'm glad AA is working for you Graemecarter.)

  • Been silly here too, had a few lagers Fri, Sat and Sunday. Again it's nothing heavy, just a couple, but I don't really need them, just want them.
Jo, I watched you beat the nicotene demon, almost with ease, and hope you are still proud of that acheivement.
Because nicotene isn't 'mind altering' is alcohol easier to give in to ?
It's the other way round for me.
Anyway I'm up for an AFD today.

I'm struggling already, hope going to Brownies tonight will help. Now we all know it's many, many years since I was young enough...but it means I can't drink until 8pm cos am driving, so really hope craving will have passed by then. Afraid to say, if was not needed to drive tonight, would probably give in, totally pathetic. I find day 1 the hardest as here's nothing to build on & it's just too easy to put it off for "just one more day"...and then another 10 years later....

    Good evening my friends,

Jo, I see you're not online - hope your hands are busy doing something other than pouring a drink, keep strong and also for you Winebox, you're right about the first day being easy to sacrifice - easy to put off drying out until tomorrow.

115k. I think healthy eating would help too - you're taking care of yourself and also there's a link between a good diet and improved mental health, which can only be helpful.

Got to go and put dinner on but will check in later,

I think that's right Biscotte. I do start to feel better and to sleep better within a few days of healthy eating.

My hunger pangs are taking the edge of my alcohol cravings at least.:o :p

I don't think it was almost with ease DC! Quitting alcohol is much much harder in my opinion.

    On the wagon tonight :D

Thanks to you all for your ongoing support :)
