Oh dear sorry about the lenses Shoppy. I keep trying to think where else you might have put them which is a bit pointless! Spare case? Tissue in handbag? Down plughole? (sorry) Have done all these. Last time we were on boat & I had had a shed full of wine I couldn't find mine the next morning, had lost the case as well! - eventually turned up in my glasses case which is a perfectly logical place to put them....just a shame I forgot......
In fact apart from the rows with OH I rarely do silly things when I'm drunk, it's just that I don't know what I HAVE done. Phone conversations, texts, emails.....:o all quite sensible stuff until someone wants to talk to me about what I said / wrote. "wot?"
If I have started drinking cos in a bad mood with OH (I am noticing more & more lately that my irritation with him, usually unfair & unfounded, is my most common trigger, I need to think that through some more) I have locked my mobile away in the car to prevent me sending regrettable texts later.

Today is the start of my GIT campaign; I need to decide if he really is one!:rotfl:
Actually it is Get It Together.

I noticed I had some serious drink cravings on the way home, even though I worked through my lunch and left at 3pm I still wanted a drink...if I was still drinking I would definately have started at 3.30pm when I got in

    xx

Yeah I wondered if going back to work might make it hard cos that's what you were doing last time you were drinking.

Eselt, I'm so glad you're enjoying life meds free...I actually thought but didn't wanna say that some say - me included - that Campral isn't actually that strong and sometimes it's all in the head like a lightly medicated placebo iykwim...I'm glad it's helped you and it certainly did no harm but I think you need to give yourself a pat on the back from far far back rather than the last 3 days :)

Hi Jo, I think you may be right- I don't feel any different at all- perhaps it was all in my head and I just thought I needed meds because I just assumed I was so weak I couldn't do it on my own? I suppose thats what drink does to you in the end-strips all your confidence so you think you are useless and irresponsible and unable to do anything for yourself because you are out of control. The best thing about being sober is getting your brain back and being able to think, reason and problem solve again- plus you are more tolerant and less irritable, and you have more energy (physically and mentally)- it makes it much easier to keep off the booze if you are thinking straight and have more inner strength.

Hope everyone is OK this evening- particularly Elatan- sounds like you are having a rough time of it ((hugs)).

    Well done!:T :T :T

Brave you for going to a class too! Im too scared. Ive bought books and magazines instead and am doing it that way. I wish I could join online but its £60 and too expensive (don't they realise some people are too shy to go to a class?)

I find it hard not to drink (although I haven't had one now since Friday) and I wouldn't want to join a class for that reason. If my alcohol ruined the diet I would feel ashamed to go to class and say so. It would only be alcohol that ruined my diet because once I make up my mind to diet I can do it.

Its a shame you are too shy because all the classes that I have been to have been really friendly.
As for the alcohol, and putting weight on etc we have all done that. There is no shame in a gain.
Alcohol is more talked about than food in our class.LOL;) And it can be incorpoated into your diet at Slimming World.
(sound like an advert now:D  )
    Good luck whatever you decide.

  • Hi everyone - ominously quiet on here??

I am on day 4 today, so far so good! I have to admit I have already started having cravings  but am having night sweats and had palpitations for a couple of days so MUST keep AF!!

Spent last evening laying down a new floor in the kitchen after a flood due to a leaky pipe last week so that kept me out of mischief:D

    Hope everyone is ok today?
