Another day under my belt  this is day 5:T
I know this prob sounds petty but OH is really not being very supportive about my not drinking, the fact that I have now done 4 consecutive days is brilliant in my book and yet it has not even warranted a mention from him - am I being silly expecting praise?
!!
Well done Shoppy!!:T Obv I don't know what he's like but my OH is good at put-downs, but praise??:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I thought you were both trying to be AF or is it just you? We'll heap praise on you instead - soddim!
Would love to advise you ref AF weekend & totally know where you are at, but myself am not trying to be totally AF, just when I am at home on my own (wish someone would come round!:rotfl: ). I need advice on how not to go mad at OH's at the weekend - I want to have a "civilised", fun few drinks & not get !!!!!! faced, & not be hungover on Monday.
Hi Lurkio - welcome back. Forgot to mention before - I actually went to Pompeii last year, & we all talked about you!! (being an intellectual type of family....) Good luck on that wagon.
Hopefully this will be AFD 4 though I forgot a wine order I placed ages ago (er, bargain....) is due today so 18 bottles of temptation arriving later...wanted them to go to OH's but could not get separate del. address so straight in the car! Think I will be OK as long as nothing Significant occurs.
See y'all later.0 -
I am here and will be back at lunchtime
Just received an email that made me laugh from Amazon recommending a book to me.......do I have a reputation then:rotfl:

I think someone at Amazon must be reading this thread, Jo! I just thought though, now that Ive looked at that Amazon page it may recommend similar books to me!!!
I know what you mean, Shoppy. I can go alcohol free during the week but find Fridays impossible! I don't know what the answer is and I keep asking myself why I want to drink when it doesn't seem to be doing anything for me any more apart from making me tired and headachey! I don't think I'll have any today (had Malibu's last night) and hopefully will feel brighter tomorrow.0 -
OH is going AF too but so easy for him, he only really drinks a lot cos I do!! Men are not very good at praise really are they!!
I am going to try really hard not to give in this weekend - 18 bottles - I would never manage to ignore them  :rotfl:0 -

:rotfl: Thanks Molly :rotfl:
Seriously I don't know what I would do without you lot on here, when I suggested to OH once about me going to AA he said he would be upset if I felt the need as it would mean that he was no good at supporting meI can't believe that really as he always harps on about me quitting - you would think he would want me to get support wherever I can???
On a more positive note, my clothes feel looser already, I think I am less bloated too Molly:rolleyes: (charming OH!!) I usually eat supper when I am drinking - well OH calls it my second tea cos it is usually the size of a full meal:eek: I have been trying to be really good during the day and not be drawn to sweets and crisps, been eating fruit and snack a jacks - love the salt and vinegar ones0 -

no we're not good at praise....!
18 bottles...sheesh....that's a lot of raffle prizes! For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

with the best will in the world, partners can't compete with the knowledge of some of the AA people - most are experts at not drinking and know so many tricks of the trade.....they know more about both sides of the fence and can tell you stories that would put you off for life.....a partner should be happy to see you do what works for you as long as it harms no-one. He should not feel a failure in any way that you feel you need to go. He has a huge role to play in this and without Mrs Bis, who knows where I'd be BUT you need to try and find a mix of what works for you - your OH does not have all the answers. If you can, get him to PM me any concerns he might have as I was very surprised when I had my first meeting...I really did expect a room full of guys who had just fallen out of the pub. I didn't expect a room full of detemined individuals who really wanted to help me - a stranger....who they owed nothing to...
you've got to find what works, simple as that. good luck. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
.
Elantan you are conspicuous by your absence - hope all OK.
Good luck all.
hi wine box thanks for the thoughts to be truthful with you hubby and i have been sorting things out we are talking again but not in the same room ...i think it will be a while and alot of changes either physical or emotional will have to take place ...will keep at it though0
