  • keep at it Jo, you are doing so well - maybe you need to treat yourself to some lovely drinks - fizzy pop, juice, posh cordial (elderflower is very nice if you like that sort of thing) or fizzy water and get some ice cubes in the freezer - I am currently getting through huge glasses of cordial made up with fizzy water and loads of ice and its very good!

Hang in there Jo, think of us all willing you to stay sober! Can you change your routine round a bit to do something different during your most difficult time?

It's been a hot one here today. Thankfully one of the few times I don't feel like a drink is during the days when it's hot so a good day for me so far:j ! Unfortuntaley, I know the evil monster will be waiting for me later this evening so it's only a temporary reprieve!

I'm quite pleased with how things are going so far, I'm not drinking 2 days in a row now and generally am having 2 AF days together. I've not been over my limit for weeks either. I'm so glad I went to the treatment centre, I know what I'd be like today if I hadn't....yuk:eek: .

Also, a bit scary but a friend who does not know about the drinking said to me today the he thought I'd seemed happier over the last couple of weeks. I didn't think I'd given anything away but I suppose the effect must be there even though I didn't realise it:o .

Anyway hope the rest of the day goes well for you all and see you soon.

    Ali x.

Hello Folks, I haven't had a drink now for almost a month (I haven't really counted - as that would be admitting it was important - if you see what I mean). I think I have a very addictive personality - always all or nothing? So now that I have other things if not sorted at least managed I needed to tackle this one. Other things I need to do too - the weight - but I'm starting to think that comes from the booze? In the last month I have lost my appetite? I'd like to think I could have a social glass of wine - but it just doesn't happen like that? Last time I bought a box of wine thinking yes this can last for ages....oh sure sure...Himself went to the pub and I drank way too much then tried to cover it up - slurring words etc (his testimony - me still thinking I had hidden it). It left me so disgusted with myself I wanted to knock this on the head for good. Going away soon and a bit concerned with what to do - people have always known me to enjoy my wine etc - think I'll say I'm on tablets (which I am loads of them another reason I really should not drink). Take anti-d's and the max dose of painkillers every day (prescribed). I have a med condition. Ok well hope you are all good and sorry its turned into a rant. You know what I love? When I wake up in the morining & I'm not embarassed by something I did/said last night?
    goodnight
