Hello all, hope you've all had a good day. I didn't do AF day 3 yesterday but stuck to my (vastly!) reduced amount so still pretty happy. I've had a good day today but surprised by how tired I feel-perhaps my body liked the AF days and is objecting which must be a good thing! Anyway, hopefully a happy evening ahead and good luck to you all.

Er...not too bad as a rhythm guitarist, not lead though, ex OH did that- just used to do sunday afternoon blues/jazz and saturday evenings old punk and rock in local pubs and clubs. Still keep my hand in by jamming with mates, and teaching a couple of my 14 yr old sons mates ("can you teach me to play Linkin Park and Sweet Child 'o Mine"-aarrgghh!!!). Trouble is theres nothing I like better than having a jam, with a few mates and beers, and I don't know why but I feel awkward and self conscious now I'm not drinking so I've been avoiding it.

me too...still working my way up to that one although I've not done jamming for years anyway - could I do it completely sober? I was never wrecked when I was playing as I was always conscious that being out of it was courting disaster...and we had to drive the PA around....
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

  • Well, what a depressing day - rain, rain rain!

Never mind, hopefully summer will turn up soon

Booze free day 10 for me, feeling a lot healthier actually!

There are some events gathering on the horizon where it looks like there will be some drinking involved, so I'm clocking up as many alcohol free days as I can while I get the chance!

    Hope everyones doing ok

    :D

    Well done Fieldofdreams.
I have got a big family BBQ next weekend so really hope the sun shines and also hope I can remain alcohol free.
I am going to take some Becks No Alcohol with me just in case.

Oh yes you cant beat a nice bbq when the weathers nice!

Becks No Alcohol?? Ive not seen that on sale anywhere, I have to say that becks and budweiser are the main culprits when I hit the town

Is the no alcohol part clearly labelled? I'm just thinking it could be a cunning plan ( as baldrick would say ) when out so that one would appear to be drinking a beer without actually consuming any alcohol! :D

Yes.I really like it.I think it does taste like lager.
I buy it in Asda or Tesco... about £4 for 6 bottles(so quite DFW)
It says Alcohol Free underneath Becks on the front label.(Not very noticable if you're not looking for it though)
They do sell it in the club/pub my daughter works in in town.So maybe worth asking about when you are out. Then no one will know you are not really drinking.

    Its worth a try.
