Hello everyone.
Well done to you all.
Day 10 for me today.
As I work noon shift most days, my worst time is when I get in.DH is usually in bed as he has to get up early, so its tempting to just flake on the sofa with a glass of wine or a whisky, so I have started putting the kettle on for a cuppa and making some toast as soon as I get in.This takes the temptation away for me.
Keep it up everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!See you later.

Hello everyone - good to hear about everyone's successes (and hiccups!). I have failed miserably - no excuse except I;ve been very busy during the day and relaxed with wine at night. I can't see myself avoiding temptation either as we have things on tonight, Friday and Saturday and if I am honest I can't resist temptation - weak willed or what. So, I will try to be moderate and then start again Sunday. Fed up of feeling cr***y in the morning though!

Hi chaps, well done to everyone for what seems like a good few days!
I had a fairly good night last night - stayed off the wine and had three cans of beer instead...I don't know if that is actually better than a bottle of wine or not but it seems like a step forward for me! In my house there is no such thing as a 'glass of wine' its always a bottle!
Weekend starts tomorrow though, why does alcohol always taste better on a Friday?....£15k of unsecured debt.....oh dear0 -

Hi all and well done to all those who are doing well and do keep trying to those who perhaps aren't faring quite so well, it'll happen, just seize the time when it does.
Congratulations Mollypolly! Day 10 already! That is some amount of time under your belt. Hopefully, the longer you keep off the better it'll be, that's my hoping for you and everyone at least. I was so pleased to read about your success with the tea an toast, though even the name of the two conjures up something so very comforting and I love it.
Keep going Mollypolly and everyone! Best wishes and hugs to all.

Hi.
Thanks for your support Sue and everyone else.
I feel really great about doing this now.Its lovely to wake up with a clear head.
The weekend's here again now which makes it harder as 'Friday night seems made for drinking'.
I still feel positive about this though so will do my best to resist.
No...wont do my best... I Will Resist.
See you later.

Good morning fellow winos LOL I didn't post yesterday as was feeling guilty that I had two glasses of white and a glass of red on Wednesday night when I had sworn to myself I wouldn't:o anyway, last night I was really good and had a pint of tomato juice (yes, without the vodka LOL) and a few cups of tea and then an early night!
I am so pleased with myself today, have a clear head and feel full of beans:D
I am going to try hard not to have any tonight, even though it is Friday! OH and I have to be up relatively early tommorrow and go and get our travellers cheques ready for Lanzarote on Easter Sunday and then dropping DD and her friend off for bowling and we are going shopping for last min toiletries etc... will prob have pub lunch so maybe a pint with that  and then may just have to have a bottle of wine on Saturday night - well it is Saturday :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned?0 -
Hi all, well that's nearly a week without wine...but am a bit worried, as Friday night is made for relaxing with a bottle...however, have left my purse at home today so I can't go to the shop on the way home (and since I'm so lazy it's unlikely I'll want to go back out once I'm home lol!).0

hiya lovelies,
I haven't had a drink since the funerals - although I really really had the taste for it for days and days afterwards.
I'm sitting here with a huge mug of tea, and there's no booze in the house apart from a vintage bottle of champagne and my son's cans of lager so I'm quite safe for tonight.
My most vulnerable time is when I'm out. It always seems to lead to such an inquest if I ever say "no thank you" to a drink.
I've got a 40th Birthday Party tomorrow night, and there's not a chance in hell that I won't be drinking at that. I'll set myself a limit of [STRIKE]3[/STRIKE] 4 drinks though and try and stick to that.
My other vulnerable time is when I get in from work. It's only 4pm usually, but I probably already feel a bit tired and my day is far from over yet.
It doesn't feel so bad to be stuck in the kitchen peeling spuds, washing dishes and ironing if I'm singing along to my favorite music and I have a glass of wine on the go.
And it doesn't feel "wrong" to do that, I still feel a bit entitled to my little treat to be honest.
And at this point i can't imagine ever being teetotal. I can see plenty of opportunities to cut my intake down though.
Thanks everyone. :A This thread is a really nice place to be, everybody's SO supportive!
