ok, deep breath, I'm back (again!) but I haven't had a drink in 4 days! Went out on Friday night wit the girl for my birthday, had a bit too much and felt terrible the next day. I obviously cannot control myself once I start so am going to give it up completely. Have a night out with a mate on Friday night but taking the car so won't be able to drink. Also, am doing a 5k on sunday so really can't drink..0

Hello all, not been here since Friday so trying to catch up. Not a good weekend for me despite me feeling so strong beforehand - had far more wine than I intended though maybe less than if I hadn't been trying at all. A bit less. Maybe. Blank blank pathetic after 1 day without a drink! Work today is HELL the phones have rung 400 times & the noise is driving me bonkers so i can sort of feel I'm likely to give in today as well aaaargh.
Jo funnily enough I was pondering this "back to day 1" thing while I was away: I'm sorry to hear you are, but I don't think you should say that cos it ignores what you already achieved. I would say you are on day 14 and so far have been successful 12 out of 14 days (or whatever the exact numbers are) and have saved £x pounds.
My major achievement today is to order the Allen Carr book off Amazon. I found the smoking one inspirational (3 yrs & 3 months....believe I may have mentioned that a dozen times) though I feel it will take more than a bit of reading matter to sort the drink thing out.
Had better go away for a while is too busy in office to be posting! Don't want to leave with P45 in hand! Probably back later betcha can't wait.0 -
 Well I've not been doing so well honeys.
My son brought home a load of booze left over from a party and took to opening me a cold bottle of lager while I've been cooking dinner - always my vulnerable time.
I've been working in a pub surrounded by the stuff, and something about sunny weather and socialising makes me thirstier - and not for tap water!
and also, I can't quite shake the idea that it's churlish not to drink at special occasions. I hate to be a wet blanket.
I'm going to try harder though - partly because I went to see my regular beauty therapist today (to see if I can have a fake toenail made for my big toe that doesn't really have one any more . I know.Ewww!) and she commented on my skin. She said "Are you over-doing it again Jack? Cos your skin's gone a bit down hill again and it was lovely last time I saw you."
Now I *am* working ever so hard at the mo' - but I suspect it's the drinking that's made my skin look about ten years older than it did a month ago!
Must Try Harder huh?

had emaill conf from amazon for allen carr book order, est date for dispatch 28th May (I also pre-ordered a bk i read about over weekend, to get free postage). now, i am the world beater at reasons not to start at day 1 today because because, but even i do not see the sense in gaily (?) pouring chardonnay down my neck for the next 3 wks cos am waiting for a book to arrive. hmmm.
discovered today that all my summer clothes have mysteriously morphed in to a size smaller than I am (in some cases, 2 sizes). have just spent money i don't have (hoorah for c cards) ordering emergency size bigger clothes online (cheapo tchibo), jesus this is NOT what i want!! i hav had some wine tonight am sorry all to be so feeble, someone else posted on here should they not post as they are still drinking & I feel same way, am i in way of people trying properly? i am not taking the p**s out of this thread at all i just do not feel able to get started.
Gosh I'm sorry, what a self indulgent sorry 4 myself post. Move onto the next, NOW!0 -

Although I posted last week, I knew that I had already planned/agreed activities which included alcohol over the bank holiday.
But I`m back, someone suggested that I abstain & thats a blooming good idea, which I can do MOST of time, but weekends are my weakest point.
DS is with ex, I return from 2nd job after 7pm & to be honest I really really feel like having a drink! I cant arrange to go out as I`m so knakkered, plus friends are couples & do couply things most weekends.
Any suggestions???Living debt free, since Sept 08 & Dec 10 :wall:

Hello all- long time no see hey !!
Was in Devon at the weekend, had a lovely time and hardly any booze- just a couple of G + T's over 3 days. Seem to be able to stop after a G + T and definitely can't after wine so thats a good thing..
Anyway- got called back about the external job and had an interview yesterday- GOT THE JOB !! Negotiated to leave here on Friday and get my redundancy money too- so no more car loan- officially debt free now !! (apart from mortgage of course)
So anyway life is good- drinking under control and have a new job !! going to take a couple of weeks off too in the sun.
Haven't read through all of the posts but well done to all of you :hello: :grouphug: :wave:MTC's NO MORE PIES MEMBER NO 202 !!!
now lost 1 stone 9 pounds- size 8 !!0
