ISOM, re the smoking, go take a look at the link I just posted to a vid over on the quitting smoking thread, that's enough to put anyone off. I don't really enjoy the AA meetings round here much, they are all supportive don't get me wrong just not people I want to share with. I've got a counsellor appointment re-booked for sometime this month (gotta check when...), so I will see if there's any local authority group meetings going on.
I'm not really down about last night cos although, yes, I did drink. I did it socially and didn't feel the need to go down to the offy and buy more to drink home alone. But as it's the second mulligan I've had in 3 days I'd better go back to day 1DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Thanks NTC
I think you should post on here whenever you can rather than lurk and read in silence. Get involved in getting the quitting/cutting down vibes and you might find it easier to do, rather than doing it alone with no support. Nobody here will judge you, we haven't had trolls 'yet' but if they turn up, just ignore em
Keep posting, daily if you can and get some inspiration, and give some to me cos I bluddy need it right now!

Hi all, well I was a
boy yesterday:o ! After just having 1 or 2 cans a night all week I really let myself go. Went to the local for dinner with OH,DD & my Mum. OH & my Mum were on the wine, whilst I was drinking lager. My Mum paid for the food whilst we paid for the drinks. Spent way too much but my Mum gave us some money towards the drinks, but I didn't want her too as I feel like a charity case but she insisted,we will buy her some flowers as a Thank You. Anyway we stayed there for a few drinks & should have called it a day at that, but I didn't call it a day & had a few cans when I got in. I walked my Mum home & by this time common sense had gone out the window & I went to the local Working Mans Club with my Dad. So basically I was on the p!ss from 3pm til midight:o ! Felt really rough today & been asleep most of the day. OH at work tonight & tomorrow & there's plenty of beer in the house, but going to try & stay off it all week. To think though that I used to get into that state every weekend is frightening. I absolutely hate wasting days through having a hangover. As I said before we have a wedding do to go to in a couple of weeks, but shouldn't overdo it there, but I know that my Cousin's stag day at the end of the month is going to be the big test. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Morning all
Needless to say, still day 1. I feel like !!!!!! this morning, it's all very well having a drink at the weekend like I did on Friday when I can sleep in till 9am and miss most of my hangover but doing it on a night when I've gotta be up at 6.45am
I've noticed lots of differences today, shakes back again, fingers have started itching incessently which is where I get excema so I'll probably be getting that back today. I don't feel as organised and I'm struggling to remember what I've got to do this morning. Luckily for me, yesterday DS said he wanted one of those Dairylea lunchable box things for lunch today with crackers, ham and cheese. It's also got a drink and yoghurt in it, so all I've got to do is grab is out the fridge and shove a couple of bits of fruit in it. If I had to make a sarnie I think I'd give up and go back to bed
I didn't drink cos I was in a bad mood yesterday, quite the opposite in fact....lovely weather, cleaned/hoovered the car out, whilst the neighbour (my childminder) was doing her garden, we were chatting, kids were playing out the front. I finished the car and was exhausted and thought, 'I know what I fancy'
Ah well, today is back to the old routine and I remember all too well how good I felt not drinking the past couple of weeks so hopefully I should be firmly back on the wagon this evening. I will no doubt be on here moaning
Molly, wow, your sun is shining a day earlycongratulations for hitting such a milestone today! Please don't ever lose sight of that now you know what it feels like
God, I better get ready for work, look at the time AND I'm hang-over'ed :undecided
