Hi owens3116 - How many people are you feeding with your slow cooker?
It's just me and my OH in my household but I bought a Russell Hobbs one from Sainsburys for £25 and it is a dual pot (instead of one big pot). One 2L and one 4L. It's perfect for making two meals at once and freezing loads of leftovers. I know it's more expensive but, economical if you're making two different meals at once?
I can only find it on Amazon at the moment for £35:

If I haven't converted you- I know a few people with the Morphy Richards ones and they are good, from what I've heard.

I originally got a 6.5L as a present but it was FAR too big so I changed it for the dual pot. I did a whole chicken in my 4L side last weekend and it was gorgeous. Veg was cooking on the 2L side and all I had to do was roasties and yorkshire puds in the oven. SO EASY!Official DFW Member 716 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Owens I've got the one you posted - cost me £30. It's just the right size to almost do a meal for 4 when it's fairly full or for 2 if you half fill it. I love it - and especially the fact that the dish goes in the dishwasherworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

When you say it has seen better days, exactly what is wrong with it? I only ask, because I much prefer the older low wattage ones. The selling point used to be that they were as cheap to run as an electric lightbulb. That is no longer true, and although they are still economical they are a lot higher wattage nowadays.
My daughter had a awt one, 4.5l and 160w, shw got it 15monthys ago for a wedding present, I went to buy one last week, because I was impressed with hers, I liked the ovel shape for doing large joints of meat. The new one was 220w. It went back, and we swapped. Hers is better for my size of house, and my 135w, 3.5l one is better suited to the 2 of them.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0
