She just doesn't like the look of it :rotfl: some people are very fussy. I prefer the fact with it that you can start it on the hob but she never uses hers that way

I use the MR 6.5 litre one because I wanted a huge one.

Oh, another thing, sure she got hers in Costco, if you have a card or know someone with one, they might be cheaper in there.
One day I might be more organised...........

Yeah like Makro, dunno where else there is one, we have one in Gateshead we use. Saying that sometimes by the time you pay the petrol etc it isn't worth the saving.

I would swap if I could fit the huge briskets etc I do in it, they just about squeeze into mine with not much room, the oval shape I find useful, so don't think I could manage with the other one.

I got this exact one from Costco a couple of years back (stepson broke it just before Christmas). It's okay, does what it's supposed to do, but I wouldn't get another one. I found it hard to get excited by it because the base is so narrow, and soups/sauces tended to get stuck in the bulging ring. I now have a huge oval one instead which is far more practical. There's no way you'd get a whole chicken in it; the 'wide' part actually isn't that deep, so all the sauce would sit below unless you're talking about cubed meat or portions. The narrower part which extends down inside the silver base is maybe 15cm in diameter.
  • I LOVE MINE.
I have the large Morphy Richards one.It is shiny chrome look on the outside & a large ceramic removeable dish & clear lid, ideal for easy cleaning.
It has 3 settings. It is large enough for a family of 6+ & is great for stews, soups, chilli's,spag bol,& loads of other things.
I was in TJ Hughes last week & saw them for £20 which I thought was a good price.
  • I really need to get a grip on this and decide what to get !:o
on the plus side the crockpot can be used in multiple ways, on the downside i`m not convinced it`ll be big enough to cook a whole chicken or a joint of meat! On the plus side the morphy richards will certainly hold more, seems to have more heat settings, and looks nicer, on the downside it cant be used on the hob for browning off or in the microwave for re heating !!!
    decisions decisions !!

The Morphy Richards one is £17.99 in Amazon at the moment, if that helps make the decision easier?
