Good morning Wendy, glad the Zafira has gone, I bet that's like a weight has lifted off your shoulders. I know you didn't get what you wanted for it, but it had got to the stage where you just wanted it gone. Have looked at your SOA and the only thing that I could see to cut back on was your donations to charity and maybe cutting back on the sky package (doubt if I'd be popular with your OH).

I'm off to work now but will hopefully catch you later.

    GR x

Car not gone they rang up at 4 (due round this evening after 5.30) to say they have found a car for same price in Somerset with less miles. I have lowered the price on Autotrader and my reserve on ebay (one watcher so far!!). Lets see how it goes.

Spent £13.75 on eye test which I can claim back from work, £3.60 on icecreams becasue DS was really good waiting for me to be tested and being tested again himesef including stinging eye drops. Then just to add I had my eyebrows threaded so he waited patiently for me. Not bad for a 5 year old.. By the way threading was REALLY PAINFUL! but worth it very over due. Next time I try to get around to a wax much quicker although it will probably be another two years.

DS choose glasses for the first time (he wasnt very impressed bless him) but I couldnt find any frames I liked and since my lenses are £120 alone I cant afford to spend much. I will have a look in Specsavers or does anyone know of a good online shop?

Thnaks for your comments GR. You are right about Sky way too high but a battle with OH im not strong enough for. Just rang sky to cancel movies and arts channels and got £40 off on 1st Aug if I keep it all until then. So £40 (£20 for two months) for a quick phonecall.

Should cancel to charities but I feel so bad that although I have debts I do had a good income and should help a tiny bit £5 a month isnt too bad and will be first off the list if things tighten.

Spent a bit too much on myself today well I did have a horrible smear test this morning so I deserve it a bit. Little and not too often is ok but its a bit too often at the moment.

Good to hear that ou are having some treats for you too! Having eyebrows done makes you feel better!! Can relate to ikky smear - had mine a couple of weeks ago & thankfully all clear!
The issue is probably more the family en masse I suspect so how about setting a family challenge with cheapish reward at the end? Just a thought...

Good idea I might recruit the kids to see if they can find anything they are willing to sell and put that towards holiday spends. I wont increase the budget but the more we can raise the better.

DD1 told me off for having my eyebrows done because it cost too much lol!

Just though I might put a sheet up on the board listing evenyone's non essential spends such as treats so they can see where the money goes.

Ohh glad you got the all clear

Hi Wendy. Sorry to hear about the car. I would have been so annoyed. Maybe they're DFWs like us!
On the bright side at least you might get more for the car than what you were letting them have it for, fingers crossed.
    Keep well.

  • Nowt really to report today same ol same ol really.

45p choc £10 for guides cooking stuff that should have come to £2 so waiting for the change from OH.

Had mini row with OH. Work have been giving me more complex visits so I said if I keep doing them ok I should ask to be put up a level. No real extra to what Ive been doing. Hes not happy saying it will be too much and hes still not happy about me staying overnight this year.

Feeling happy today and quite productive at work. Need to keep it up as loads to do in the next two weeks.

    Night all

  • Well the latest in the car saga is a £140 clutch bill for cavalier is now £240 because there may or may not have been an engine change for a newer model engine? Why was that not picked up at the accessment I paid for??

Revalued the Zafira on Autotrader and its seems my price is more than fair so has improved the working tech speck wise on the ads and will just have to be patient Not my strong point I know.

Work is manic so I should come off here and log on upstairs. Will find time to watch apprentice though!

Had two calls from the last lot interested in the car offering £2k. I said no and that if they could find a car for that price in as good condition then go ahead and buy that one! Wondered what happened to the great car in Somerset??
