  • It is 4 months since I opened the account. During that period I had sent 2 e-mails to accounts manager. Numerous phone calls to the free number and yet I have received no calls from the bank or reply for my e-mails.
Although their system has withdrawn £4000.00 from my Linked account. It is not showing up on my Hi-Save statement.
My account shows a balance of £4000.00 but when I try to withdraw, a box appears and it says "fund is low", In other words there is no £4000.00 with monetary value, just numbers.
It is 8 working days since the Money was taken out from my linked account.
    Statement says : Balance £4000.00
    Available balance £4000.00
This is the first and the worse bad experience I had since the Internet banking system came into existance. All other banks I deal with had never ever given me any problems whatsoever.
Icici Internet Banking system is completely flawed,as far as this new HI-Save account is concerned.
I have a current account with them just with the basic deposit needed to open the account but I am afraid to deal with it since the nightmarish experience I have had with my Hi-Save account. Until that is sorted I am going to leave it alone.
Did any body notice the statement that says you are only allowed to have linked accounts between two current accounts in GBP. Then How come we are allowed to have a linked account between Hi-Save and Current account? More Inefficiency?

    George,

Just a thought, but could it be that there is a minimum account balance? I know it sounds silly, but have you tried withdrawing £3999?
  • masonic,
First I tired to transfer £1000.00, result was the same "fund is low".
Just numbers with no value. Untill Icici system does a sweep and finds my £4000.00 and hooks on to it then drag it into my account, nothing much is going to happen.
I am sure the staff members are doing their best to get every bodies account working as it should be.
Mind you, I am not surprised, the extent of inefficiency this branch of Indian bank is suffering from because it is a well known fact that the country on the whole has a history of inefficiencies starting from the highest level of Government departments and their responsible, highly paid officials.
It is, I believe is a way of life to them in India. No research,No planning,No preparation. Just a colossal mess they dive into :o

I'm starting to form the same conclusion. The withdrawal problem sounds familiar though... hang on a minute... yes, check out #27 on this thread. It's seems it's happened before.

you do realise that you dont need to have a current account with them aswell. If you have an external current account, make that your linked account and transfer the money to that. As for emailing, check your personal email address and your online account messages as it varies as to which method they use to reply.
  • Progress??

Today I got an account access number for both myself and my good lady (separate e-mails) - account is up and running - BUT no password - await with interest (no pun intended) tomorrow's developments.

I'm going to be lazy now and admit I have not read ALL the previous posts BUT has ANYBODY made this account work and got the returns they advertise?

I've been an internet banker (correct spelling) since the days of First-e the internet bank - anyone remember them? Folowed by First Direct (still going well apart from ridiculous telephone security system). The way the new players are going does not feel like progress to me - surely it was better in the old days?

    Cheers

That was both unsolicited and an idiotic generalisation. That would be like someone saying that people in the UK are a bunch of thieves, based on Nick Leeson and the Barings bank fiasco - a stupid conclusion, and needless to say, factually incorrect.

While I do agree that everyone is entitled to his opinion (and frankly I don't rate the customer service at ICICI very highly either), one surely must exercise discretion while airing such generalisations in a public forum.

It would appear so. The interest is credited to my account (now gross, after battling with them over an R85 form). I guess I won't know for sure until I try to withdraw it all.

I agree. I think I probably have been lucky in my dealings with them, but given the extent of appalling feedback I've read on this forum, I'm not confident enuff to use it as an 'instant access' savings account in the true sense of the word, so any amount I transfer there, I have reconciled myself to the eventuality that it may not exactly be available to me in the two days time that they promise. I should not be unfair to them though, and must admit that the one sample transfer that I did attempt for £10 from Hisave to my linked account on a Monday reached my linked account on Wednesday without any hassles.

But then, consistency doesn't seem to be their forte, so it is not necessary that it'll always work...
