a. Could I transfer funds from one to the other?
b. Without having to use the 'linked account' procedure, thereby creating a 2 x 3 business days transfer clearance delay?
Now the answer to b. surely has to be a 'Yes'. If you have more than one account with any bank then money shouldn't have to go 'out' of the bank and then back 'in' again to move it from one account to another.
Good luck with itConjugating the verb 'to be":

Yes. Please see ICICI Positive Feedback thread. (It's very short!!)0 -
My experience with ICICI.
Opened Hisave acc with £10.00 In july, after about two weeks I was able to log on, no problem.
Decided to test the system and transferred £4000.00 from my linked account
Halifax current account.
£4000.00 showed up next day in my Hisave. Fast! I thought.
Checked my Curr/account, money not transferred.
Waited, for 4 weeks,no change so logged on to my Hisave. Big surprise, Interest added to the balance and a transfer of another £4000.00 appeared.
Great! Now I have £8000.00 Plus interest but my Linked account still waiting for the original £4000.00 to be debited.
Well, Apparently there is a serious glitch with the ICICI system so I though it will get sorted because Banks don't make that kind of serious blunders so I just waited to see if my current account has got any demand for the original amount transferred. No. No change.
Now it is 3 months since opening the account and the balance is showing £12000.00. Rich beyond my dreams. Linked account still showing the £4000.00 not yet debited.
Time for action, MY first call to the customer service. Explained what is happening to my account and I was told some one will contact me within the next two days. No call but £4000.00 from my curr/account disappeared and showed up in hisave as transfer and the balance now is £8000.00. Confusing?
Time to activate a trigger. decided to take my money and forget the Hisave account so made a transfer of £3000.00 to my curr/account. Success, transfer was made and showed up in curr/account so it is time to get the remaining amount which is the Original opening deposit £10.00+ balance £1000.00+ Int- earned for the £4000.00). all went well except there was a demand for £4000.00 from my cur/account the very next day by Icici but the £3000.00 was not cleared therefore there was not enaugh fund to meet their demand and transfer was refused and I got an e-mail notification from halifax stating that I will be charged £39.00 for their costs.
So next day I had the £3000.00 as available so I set up a transfer of the £3000.00 back to it's original destination from where it was withdrawn, another bank account.(not within Halifax).
Since Icici did not get the first £4000.00 demanded they made another demand the following day and the money was transferred, that means, Now I have no £3000.00 for the transfer that I made to it's original destination bank.
Made a frantic call to the Icici to get an explantion to this unauthorised transactions taking place and the usual reply that some body will contact me within the next two days.
got in touch with the other bank asking them to cancel my transfer request but it has already gone throught the system and it is too late to do anything about it now was the reply.
No contact from Icici and that £4000.00 did not show up as credit in my account but the balance now shows as £4000.00 plus interest.Confusing??
So I thought I will transfer £1000.00 to see if it works, nope, a box came up saying "fund is low". I am in trouble. there will be a demand from the other bank for £3000.00 and I have no fund to meet that request.
Another notification from Halifax stating that I have to pay £39.00 for failed transfer due to lack of funds.
Total of £78.00 I will lose, Thanks to Icici and their system.
Wrote a letter asking them to refund the above amount. I shall wait with eagerness for their response.
Will post with the next episode.0 -
This is quite similar to the situation I had (but with larger sums involved
). Trying to collect money from people far too late like this is not on. You should be able to complain to your bank about these transactions, which are covered by the direct debit guarantee. I currently have no direct debit set up with ICICI and plan to do all future transfers in by BACS.

Perhaps it might be an idea to call in to your local 'big' Halifax branch and talk to a 'Manager level' member of staff?
Whilst there you could sit down with him/her and look at your entries on their computer screen so as to explain things more clearly.
At the same time, you could get them to knock off the two £39.00 charges too.
Concerning ringing the FreePhone ICICI Call Centre in Mombai, India:
After suggesting myself to a very nice lady how "I might as well just as well send another cheque for £10 as it's neither here nor there, is it?", I personally think there has to be a problem talking to the Indian Call Centre Staff.
Why?
Well, after putting the phone down, I remembered reading how the call centre staff only earn about £150 or so per month. Such a flippant comment from someone in the UK about '£10 not being a lot of money', must really annoy them, I should think.0 -

I dont think so, they may only get £150 but that buys a lot in india!
Also they dont get 150 pounds thay get it in their currency so it may sound a lot more0 -
Yes, but don't forget they work for a large bank so they will know the exchange rate. On second thoughts, maybe not!!0

LOL. I get the impression most of them don't even know the day of the week.
Anyway I'll shut up ICICI bashing as it's off topic will likely be removed anyway.0 -
ICICI
The Nightmare continues.
They are now taking over 2 weeks to answer a email enquiry.
They are not answering 'Mails' sent via your account page.
The CEO has not answered a letter containing complaints about length of time it takes to transfer money and calculation of interest sent weeks ago.
I'm keeping my money elsewhere.0 -
