Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 21st February 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Ok so I'm cheating - not been to bed but just wanted to wish SHEZ - A very happy birthday.:bdaycake: :EasterBun   _party_
Hope you have a wonderous day!!!

Morning Pooky and all to follow,
Thank goodness it’s Friday! One more night of work and I’m off for a week! :j I’ve managed to knock my sleep pattern out again so I’m shattered and really looking forward to a lie in at the weekend.
Today I need to spend the morning doing some baking. Ds1 has given up sweets, chocolate and fizzy drinks for lent and as ds2 idolises his big brother he decided to join him. Both of them have been very strict about it and I admire their determination but it means lots of baking and extra time in the kitchen for me making extra sweet and savoury treats and snacks to fill them up. Actually I’m enjoying trying to find different things to make for them but so far twink’s Hobnobs and Aussie’s Anzacs are still the favourites. Thank you both!:T
This afternoon I need to get ds1 sorted for his youth club weekend away, do a bit of shopping, make chicken fried rice for tea and then after work tonight I intend to slob in front of the TV with a very large glass of wine.
Happy Birthday Shez, I hope you have a lovely day! :bdaycake:

Morning everyone
Happy birthday to Shez - 21 AGAIN!!!! Have a fantastic day Shez.
Pink, can't you just nip out to the home bakers and buy some goodies and then use the time saved to get 40 winks? Nobody has to know......
I managed a trip to the dentist yesterday - she put a patch over the broken edges of the tooth so that has helped a lot. I've to go back in a few weeks for a proper repair job.
Smokey, I am thinking of you and your OH.
Donny-Gal - what a shock for you and your OH. Likewise I am thinking of you both.
Lillibet, don't wear yourself out!!
Triage - that didn't sound too clever. It does sound like it could have been a panic attack. Weird things panic attacks, they can come on even when there's no obvious stimulus. I'll echo what the others have said and suggest you give your GP a visit just to rule out other possible problems.
Thank God it's Friday - havea fab day everyone.

Morning Pink, Snowy and Pooky! And a Huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Shez:bdaycake: I hope you have a fabulous day.
Not much going on here today, thank goodness it's Friday. DD23 cleared out her room AT LAST yesterday so the washing machine is in for a big shock today. I usually get the towels and bathmats etc done on a Friday but there's no chance I'll get near the machine today. Oh well. I suppose tomorrow will do although I usually try not to do domestic chores at the weekend. Mind you, the ironing pile already almost reaches the ceiling. Sigh.
Breakfast today will be a smoothie I think, I have a tub of frozen fruit which needs to be used up in the freezer. Not sure about lunch and then fish with roast veggies for dinner, yum. Am doing quite well on my eating out of the freezer week although now I have to refill it again!
Love and hugs to PP, Lillibet, Beemuzed, triage999 (sounds like a panic attack to me too, hun, OH used to get them) , kyle and anyone else feeling poorly or sad.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning everyone and a Happy Birthday to SHEZ - have a great day.
Massive (((Hugs))) and thoughts to SMOKY,DONNY and PENPIN.
Well, I am managing to get to sleep without too much of a problem these days; I find not having caffeine after about 7pm has really helped, but I keep waking up early - between 3 and 4. I'm trying to look on the positive side - it's so much better than not being able to get to sleep in the first place and it gives me a chance to get on the comps thread, hunt for knitting patterns and so on and I can mooch about on here without feeling that I should be doing something else instead! I also find I can last a bit longer during the day without feeling the need for a nap. So, there's a good side to everything!
Today's plan is to go to the bank to sort out the wages for the sub-contractors and to pay some bills; pick up some more printer paper, ring-binders and punched pockets, do my food shopping (will come to quite a bit this week because I have more or less run the freezer and cupboards right down), treat myself to a mooch in the wool shop (as Dorcas would say 'It's my one weakness'!) but not for wool; I need some very narrow pink ribbon to finish off a doll I'm making. I will try very hard to walk straight past the wool section! I also want to have a rummage round the charity shops (another 'my one weakness') and just generally enjoy being out. I have been very disciplined in buying just milk and newspapers for most of the week but I'm feeing a bit stir crazy now and need to get out and spend just a bit of money!
I cleaned all downstairs yesterday and should really have done upstairs as well, but I have decided to do that on Mondays instead because that's usually a quiet day on the work front. I find if I try and do the whole house in one day I end up cutting corners and feeling as if I haven't done a good enough job of it!
Well, yet again I've waffled so I'm going to disappear now. Hope everyone has a great day.
See you later.

Master Penguin becomes a Teenager today, too    We've bought him a rucksack to take camping with him (he chose it so I know he'll be delighted)
We're off to Newcastle after school (hotel courtesy of Mr T) and off to the theatre to see Noughts and Crosses tomorrow. DD loves the book and met Malorie Blackman (the author) when we went to the Party at the Palace, and she was absolutely lovely.
Have a great day!

Morning Everyone
Birthday wishes to to Shez and Master Penguin:beer: . Today would have been my parents wedding anniversary, strange how when you see a date it reminds you. They managed 60 years and gota telegram from the Queen:j
.
We both had a good night, I was a little more organised for me, and slept well, but I was tired. We were fast on when a nurse popped in to take his temperature at 6.15am:rolleyes: . Then half an hour later another one popped in to take another blood sample:D . I see on the sheet his is down for RMN whatever that means in Spanish. I will pop home for a shower and breakfast in a while, but I want to be here when the Doctor comes round as I have a few questions IYKWIM;) . Early morning mist here, so looks like a nice day in prospect. I asked if DH could have a shower, as he was wanting one, but they said later. Just on my first coffee from the machine. Not ideal but better than no coffee. Not a rip off either 0.55€ about 40p to keep me sane. He has had time to come round now (he does not wake up fast) so will grab another coffee and get back. I will pass your good wishes on, thanks again.
(((hugs))) Pen-Pen, Smokey, beemuzed, P-W (hope you get some sleep) and anyone else who´s not 100%.
Take care DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
