Hi everyone; just sat back down with a coffee having prepped for tonight's stew, made several phone calls, DH called back because the skip that should have been delivered on site this morning at 7.30 did not arrive; turns out they got the details wrong so DH is hopping mad because he's got himself and two other men standing around waiting for it. It never rains but it pours with us.
Still, that's nothing compared to what SMOKY, DONNY and PENPIN are going through; I'm not going to complain.
PENPIN - I think you should complain - it won't help you healthwise if you have to worry every time you go in that they'll get it wrong. They really should take more care; as it's happened a second time you have every right to complain. It's your health and your life, after all.
I was going to say something to LOOPYLOU but I've forgotten what it was! I'll have to edit this post once I've read LOOPY's again.
I have just switched from B Gas (both gas and electricity) and been assured I'll save almost £300 a year plus I get £30 back at some point - the cashback is not immediate. I hope B Gas lose loads of customers from now on; they certainly don't deserve any loyalty. They were shoving up prices like crazy all last year and blaming world energy prices and global warming (the usual excuses, the ones the Government use when it puts up petrol) and all the time they were feathering a great big nest. As my DH puts it so eloquently 'it's all a load of b******s!'
Anyway, I shouldn't be sat here - I still haven't started sorting out my office so I'm going to get a wiggle on now!
See everyone later.

LOOPYLOU - I remember what I was going to say now! All the people making snidey remarks are probably spending money that isn't theirs and being too concerned with their possessions - at the end of the day, you will be the one rich in both family and financial peace of mind. You carry on, girl - you're one of us and I think it's great that you are living the OS life from so young an age. You'll teach your family wonderful values about what really matters. I have always found that the people who laugh at my OS ways are the ones who lead shallow lives.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

I changed from Atlantic to BG for our electric just before Christmas, I think I will be changing again, what a cheek............all that profit and they still put up prices..........worst thing they ever did was to allow the utilities to float.....
Re: Northern Rock.....friends of ours had all their savings in there and went and bought more shares when the price dropped............they are now wiped out!!!!!!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Not sure what we are doing today, but I would like to get out for a walk, we have another film to watch this afternoon.
Got something with chips tonight, have got sainsbugs delivery coming too.
Donny hope you DH is ok, how worring for you all xx
Smokey hugs to you and DH.
Lilibet, hugs to you,
Pen pin, you must complain its just not good enough xx
kathy, a huge part of my job is chasing people for invoices payment etc, most of them are completely incompetent, is a really nice change when you get hold of someone who knows what they are doing, its sad really that incompetence is now the norm.
hope you all have good days xx0 -
Good Morning All
Still a sickie here. Feeling slightly better, still weak though, so today will be spent doing the washing & resting some more. My DD will be spending the afternoon with my mum.And DS is going swimming.
My dog has finally been discharged from the vets. OH took her last night. All is well. The ulcer has gone, all treatment to be stopped. The cloudy patch on her eye, may still be there for a while, but hopefully in time, it will clear up.
Donny-gal - so glad you managed to get the doctor, and that DH is in the best possible place now for treatment. Mum always says the Spanish dont mess around!
Charlie's mum - i totally agree ref the profit margin at british gas. Why dont they give some of it back to their valued customers. Im with e-on, and looking to switch from them. But to whobut I know it wont be to BG. After watching Martin "It pays to watch" last night, it is time to switch! (i missed it last week) so he may have told us to do it then, lol - Im always behind the times!
scuzz - sounds like things are moving fast, hope it falls into place soon. She should be happy with the items for her birthday. Its not the value, but the thought!
Loopylou - take no notice of the comments, they are just jealous! I thinks its great that the younger people are living OS ways. Im slowly approaching 35! And still have lots to learn to be fully OS. I do try my best, cooking, cleaning etc. Wish I was green fingered to grow my own veg! Well done you! Keep up the good work, and in time, your lovely chidren (when you have them) will appreciate the effort also.
taplady - hope your head ache shifts!
(((hugs))) to smokey & hillstep
Catch you later

Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Morning everyone,
Big hugs to Donnygal and your DH - hope everything turns out well
Penny pincher - hugs for you too, i would seriously speak to someone about what has happened, if there is a next time who knows what could happen.
Smokeybabe - (((hugs)))
Deleted_User - they will envy you in the long run, i have people who stare at me in disbelief when i tell them what i spend on shopping, they are convinced we must be eating carp when in fact we eat much better than they do. It makes me smile to see them nip out for a sandwich for lunch and come back £4 or £5 lighter and in some cases much more, if they didn`t do that then they wouldn`t need to work long hours.
I worked out what i was spending for lunch each day and it came to a fortune, i`ve not done that since i started coming on here and i have learnt so much in a short space of time from all the wonderful people here.
Do what works for you and what makes you happy.
I`m off to sort out the kitchen now as it dosen`t look good
Have a great day everyone!

IKWYM about the £4-5 lighter! At the beginning of Jan I realised for several reasons I should know how much I spent at the supermarket. Have never had any idea at all, as I never had a regular shopping plan, although I have had phases of menuplanning in the past, esp when losing weight. I used to shop when I had to, as I didn't enjoy it really, so lobbed in any manner of thing that might be useful. Stuff was living in the freezer and cupboards too long. You get the idea.
The only problem really is that I am really 'enjoying' the home made stuff too much! I am capable of baking far more than we can consume! I find it very therapeutic.
My kitchen looks pretty good, dining end too. I was expecting a client at 10am and having to work in this area at the moment meant that I had belted round and had a good clean up. I hope she's all right. Don't have a mobile number to call her. I've taken the time to catch up on a few things. Meals now planned for next week."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Hi Guys!
This was another local hospital. The one that made the mistake in my Warfarin dosage was another hospital and this one was in the A&E dpt of another...if that makes sense. I am going to make a formal complaint, just dont know the best way forward

Morning all,
Hugs to Smoky, PenPin and DonnyGal...hope the news is better soon for all of you.
Scuzz...how exciting, your own place at last! Good luck with interview.
Hugs to anyone else in need or want
Busy, busy here to-day...DD2 and baby Aoife came home yesterday afternoon 36 hours after birth, couldn't persuade DD to go to bed but she didn't have a bad night...woke at 3 and then 7.30...SIL and big sister are now in charge and Mammy has gone for a rest. Off to airport in a while to pick up DDIL and DGD2 and then collect DGS at 3 from school...he is 7 to-day and will no doubt be exerting his authority! OH is cooking so it is ham and cabbage with mashed spuds...no point in asking him to attempt anything more complicated

Good afternoon!
A flying visit from my hols in Florida! How are you all?? Must admit I have not read any of the daily threads since I've been away but I've been thinking of you all lots! Still being ol' style over here watching what we buy, comparing prices, making home made meals, turning the chicken into stock etc etc! Luckily we are away with my parents and my dad is the original ol'styler so doesn't think we're wierd and is happy to eat our 'leftover' meals etc etc.
Of course I'm not totally bonkers we have enjoyed meals out as it is cheap here (relatively speaking) we ate in a chinese buffet 'eat as much as you want' so 3 courses with a huge choice for us all (6 0f us) was about £20!! Bought our Busch Garden tickets the cheapest way, buying things from the dollar store (they are fab!) and kids loving the pool, my dad and I enjoy walking to the beach and collecting fossilised sharks teeth (very cheap!)
Sadly whilst we have been away our rabbit had 5 babies and my friend looking after them has been very traumatised as they were all dead. She thinks it was due to the cold so all a bit grim! At least the adult rabbit seems to be ok.
Anyway hope you are all having a fab February, will try and catch up again soon
Hugs
