How old is too old to have a baby??

Me and OH are the other way round, although he's only 3 years older than me, he's wanted children since he was 19 (his mum had him at 18 and his nan had his mum at 19!). He's very worried about being an 'old dad' and as he never had a father figure in his life to play football with etc, he really wants to be able to do all this with his children. I'm 23 now and he's 26, we've been together for 7 years, living together for 3 and are getting married in June. I've got a career which is really moving forward but I know that once I become a mum I won't want to continue working full time. I've agreed that we can start trying next year, which means assuming that we concieve within 6-12 months, I'll be 25 when I have number 1. We have always planned to have 2 children approx 2 years apart!
It is all a bit too planned out for me and I'm fully aware that things that are planned out usually have a habit of going wrong!!0 -

Haha, it's not me that made the plan, I'd be happy to wait another year or so but we compromised! He's been nagging me for about 6 years so we had to agree to something!! We got goldfish about 5 years ago and then when he started nagging again we got 2 puppies last year. I think that they're filling the void for him at the moment and taking up a lot of our time

Don't know if anyone has already said it, but consider how old you will be when child is 15, also are there likely to be any grandparents around? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

Me and OH treat our 5 year old pedigree cat like a baby. :rotfl: We bought her a new litter tray thing with a roof and she was too nervous to go in so I have been carrying her to it, and waiting for her, and when she did her first poo in there, me and OH clapped her! :rotfl: I think she will have her nose severely put out of joint if we ever get lucky enough to have a child.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -

Personally, I think it is irrelevant whether you feel "ready" or if you are an active person or if you look young. Biology will dictate when you become "too old" to have a baby. With every passing year, your fertility continues to decline. It is not a stable level until the menopause - it is decreasing every single day. Of course, I wish all the would-be moms well and I hope they are lucky and blessed with children. However, I would tell any female friend or relation who asked my opinion to start trying for a baby as soon as they got married. You see, you generally don't know it's too late until it actually is too late. (I would also add: there is nothing wrong with adoption. You don't need to get pregnant to be a parent.)0
