Seller wants feedback withdrawn
Comments
-
As a potential future buyer, I just want to see honest feedback and in this case I wouldn't want to buy from this person. Some people seem more concerned with keeping a 100% positive record at all costs (to other people) rather than actually keeping their buyer happy.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. You are particularly unpleasant for reasons I can't fathom. I can see that you have plenty of experience of that
I chose no to get into an argument with a liar.
If you think that 3 weeks to send an item that is not as described and unusable and a lie makes for an adequate transaction, then we have very different standards.
My point is not whether it was an adequate transaction or not, it's about the ability to communicate to resolve problems, rather than leaving a neg and stamping feet on a forum.
And why do you think I am lying? I'm happy to admit that I think you are an idiot - my opinion being based on the evidence I have seen. Why is your opinion of me a liar? What gives you that suggestion?
The reason that you think I am unpleasant, is easy to fathom. I have questioned your reasoning, and you have taken umbrage to that as well.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
stevew8975 - i can see your point, if a seller sent me a phone that was locked (described as unlocked) with the wrong charger i would email them and try and resolve. having said that it isnt a good seller that makes false claims and sends the wrong things and also lies about having sent the phone. so even if the seller then resolved i wouldn't give a postive feedback, maybe neutral. the feedback system is there to protect buyers too and i would want to know if a seller had behaved this way. in all likelyhood the seller knew the phone wasn't unlocked. the only excuse is stupidity that they hadn't bothered to test it with different sims. if you cant test if for sure you can't make the claim that it is unlocked. bad seller that im afraid. you say the buyer has spat his dummy and waited for attention !!! well actually all he has done is left his veiw of the transaction. perhaps he doesn't want to go through all the hassell of holding a useless sellers hand through the ebay process and getting them to fix what they should have the basic mental capacity to get right in the first place. perhaps he just wanted to leave feedback saying what happened so other buyers would know that if they deal with this seller then expect to have to sort lots of problems out afterwards. you also say he has taken umbrage at the seller trying to make amends, but all i can glean from these posts is that the seller wants the neg removing, i can't see any offer of making amends from the seller???
i bought a phone off a terrible ebayer, it arrived v badly scratched, no software for the phone or charger for the headset. it was sold as being used but as new. i would never have bought it with all the scratches on it, not wear and tear either but really bad. i contacted the seller, he wouldn't let me refund and return (i didn't want it it was awful) or refund any money. so i left a neg. but he just left one too claiming it wasn't scratched!! we take quite a risk buying on ebay, i was going to go via ebay/paypal but the guy started getting very abusive and saying he would take me to a small claims court, at the end of the day it wasnt worth the hassel over 70 quid.
it always amuses me that sellers get abusive on ebay. you never phone a reputable company to complain and have the person on the phone tell you you have 'spat your dummy' out. it just shows how unprofessional some ebay sellers are.
stevew8975 - you are very defensive of the seller, i can only assume you often sell on ebay and often send out the wrong thing or put untruths in your listings and that you think this is acceptable so long as you are given a chance to fix the situation afterwards. i don't agree, if you cant send an item out on time, with the right charger or unlocked (as the listing stated) once you have excepted the money from the buyer then there is something wrong there. maybe not a negative but even if resolved then a neutal explaining what went wrong.0 -

Steve - not you the liar.... the seller!!! he doesnt want to waste time arguing the a seller. he waited THREE weeks for the phone for goodess sake, are you by any chance the seller in this case??? i can't see anyone else having any defence for the person!
i think steve you are an IDIOT, read above, he didn't mean you were a liar but the seller.
if you read the posts on this forum from the buyer he is asking us wether he should remove the neg, not asking us to sort the phone out, he isn't moaning about that but wasn't sure what to do about the feedback.
i feel sorry for anyone buying anything from steve on ebay as you have demonstrated here that all you care about is if the buyer contacts the seller, you have no concern over the sellers level of service. if you compare the two things which is worse, a buyer not emailing the seller or the seller lying, taking 3 weeks to send a phone out that is not as described. do us all a favour steve and get off this forum and please stop selling on ebay.
im going to look and see if stevew8975 is an ebay id now and look at all your neg feedback!0 -

if i had made an honest mistake and sent a buyer the wrong item i would hope the buyer would give me a chance to resolve the matter rather than just leaving me negative feedback!
i think it should be acceptable for sellers to occasionally make honest mistakes providing they are willing to put them right. we are all only human after all.
i recently sent a buyer the wrong size item by mistake, she informed me of this, i apologised and upon receipt i gave the buyer a full refund plus her return postage costs. she left me really excellent feedback and emailed me to say how well i had dealt with the matter. that is how it should be done.
had i ignored the buyer/not refunded/taken ages to refund/not refunded return postage then a neutral or negative would be acceptable0 -

I think OP meant that they didn't want to get into an argument with the 'lying' seller, not you. I may be wrong but that's how I took it!
**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

No I wasn't referring to you as the liar.
But am happy to take your word for it....
I posted on here to ask what other posters would do, considering what has already happened. Not to rant.
It is quite clear to me that you can't read what is posted. No wonder you make the wrong judgements.0 -

i agree pinkgem, and i always do contact the seller, but i have to say after 3 weeks waiting for the phone and all the other problems with it i dont think this seller is a good one like you are.0 -
One mistake possibly. 2 huge mistakes and a lie....hmmmmmif i had made an honest mistake and sent a buyer the wrong item i would hope the buyer would give me a chance to resolve the matter rather than just leaving me negative feedback!

I ahve to say that I have delt with problems on ebay before, always following the right channels and solved it.
I guess by the time the phone finally arrived, I was getting really !!!!ed of.
Maybe I should have contacted her, but the fact is, I DIDN'T.
It's done and in the past.
After a few days, had I received a message from the seller with an apology, maybe I would have re-considered. It never happened.0
