  • OK, I have really oily skin, and am currently on antibiotics for my acne. I use L'Oreal Pure A moisturiser (nice and light, helps keep oil down, not £17). I also take vitamin supplements; the first one is 'Selenium with vitamins A, D, & E', and the second one is a Co-Q10 supplement. Both are fantastic for combatting anti-oxidents, and vitamins A and E are great for problem skin. Boots are doing three for two on any of thier own-brand vitamins!
Beauty is only skin deep? My a**e!!! Are you spotty like me?!?! If it's not that serious a problem consider taking the Dianette contraceptive pill - it was something my doctor was pondering, but she decided the acne was too serious - AND CONTRACEPTIVES ARE FREE!! WAHEY!!! :T

Please tell me I've talked you out of it, I'd feel soooooo proud!!!!

Ask for a free sample or tester first- sometimes the claims are all hype!
Then you can make an informed decision to invest £17.99. If you just buy it it might be useless and money wasted...
    just a thought!

Its an online site so I'm not sure if they could get me a sample, I could always email and ask I suppose!

*sighs* I do take a multi vitamin everyday. I'm not as spotty as I used to be thank good, its just that my skin is soooo oily. I did try Dianette when I was younger but a couple of hours after I took it I used to be sick!!! Had to come off it in the end.

I'm not talked out of it yet. I still feel the urge!! :o

    OK, tough love time:

Take a look at your signature. Can you afford to spend £17 on what really will be a waste of money?

I used to spend an absolute FORTUNE on Clinique products for oily skin (£13 for soap, £13 for toner, £17 for moisturiser), and it got me absolutely nowhere.
If you're really desperate to buy it do some research online first, have a look on ciao, or just stick "[insert name here] moisturiser review" into Google and see what comes up. Just make sure you don't read the reviews on the site of the moisturiser manufacturer!!!!

  • I don't have a number... Is it 'cause I swore on my post:D I didn't mean too. but it really is cold....;) Only spent £5 today as I met a friend for lunch. She offered to pay - should I have let her?

    Yes!
Me & my friend do this quite often, when one of us has money and the other doesn't, stops you becoming a hermit when its a week or 2 till payday!

  • Morning fellow spenders. After feeling all smug yesterday because I only spent £5 - even though I was at Oxford St, I am now surrounded by the spoils of last week's internet shopping. 2 orders from Boots - and 1 from Whsmiths. Uh-oh! Hopefully today will be another cheap one as there's lots of cleaning to get done. Hope you're all resisting temptation. :D

resist the urge!!! your bank balance will thank you for it.

Or send yourself on a mission to find this cheaper, maybe a opened but unwanted tub on Ebay? remember the magazine was paid to review the product so will make anything sound good!

Don't be gullible, any range will sound perfect for you on paper.

Resist the urge, repeat after me!!!!

Re the need to splurge when paid, i absolutely do that!! i have a self imposed hardship so i feel the need to reward myself, although my shopping of choice now is household food shopping, it's still not exactly healthy on the bank balance.

Also, i did have a fairly poor childhood, lots of hand me downs etc, which on the one hand makes me open to charity shops, freebies etc, but on the other hand wants Erin to have better....

    such a great thread.

I get paid on wednesday next week, so i expect you lot to talk me out of spending!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Yes, that'll be the true test of our resolve, and our mutual support on this thread! Payday for many of us at some point next week I expect  !!

I think I need to get it in to my head that if I don't have a big splurge at the start of the month I'll have money to spend throughout the rest of the month. It's sounds so simple when it's written down, but putting it in to practice is a different thing entirely for me.

you lot are me - with one difference I am just really crap with money, my childhood was good money wise I have no reason except bordom stupidity and a little bit of feeling sorry for myself for this spending - that and am convinced money spent on the internet doesn't really count..................

I was doing ok with the money thing but work really got on my nerves so I spent loads, then the fact that i hadn't lost any wieght got on my nerves so I went out bought new clothes...... some of which I am returning!

and then this week? I spent a stupid amount of money on my pets, then stupid money in Woolworths to make the kitchen look nice......... and then forty quid in Morrisions, not a remotely careful shop.

I don't spent anything extra for about a month and then I got nuts, I want I want I want !!

and I am dreadful on Amazon. the credit card on there is always such a suprise.

I am off to get the paper in a bit, just for the exercise really since i haven't left the house due to deliveries (spending on line) but they are all here now.

Any how confession over. will subscribe and hopefully shame myself in to stopping spending......

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
