Morning all  Hugs to all of you feeling ill this morning
Hugs for smokeybabe - thinking of you both
Hope your op goes well chocolate.orange
Pen Pen best of luck with your interview
Stefejb - hugs for you and your DD
Ronankfan - your cake sounds cool!
It's freezing her in Oxford too - and as my bus pass has expired I cycled to work. It was nice to get some exercise but I can hardly feel my fingers now! Still, it's bright and pretty (until you open the door that is - then my smile is only fixed as my face has frozen :rotfl: ). Half term here too.
Stuck at work until late today (now there's a suprise  ) but I have lots of little things to do. I went back to the careers service last week and they have told me I need to find some work experience if I want to change fields - even if it's just the odd few days here and there, which is logical but I just don't know where to start. I need to get moving though as my thesis deadline is looming and whereas I can take holiday now, time will get tight in the autumn.
I have to list so stuff on ebay later. I've been meaning to do it for weeks, but I've decided try and pay off what is left of my student loan as a challenge... It's not that much compared with what people borrow these days and I've been paying it back on a voluntary basis on and off since I graduated, but it will be nice to try and clear it completely.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
morning all!
day off today!:j so far have been to the docs for my Depo injection and also been with DH for his results. He has a prolapsed disc which is pressing to one side on the nerves. The doctor is referring him to the back surgeon to see if they can do anything for him. At least we know now what the problem is.
Later am off to get my new nails done, am nervous about showing them the state of my hands and nails but I dare say they've seen it all before!;)
Catowen :hello:
PenPin and smokybabe (((hugs)))
Good luck to chocolate.orange today!
Have a lovely day all, back later xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Good morning:D
Shez, no fog here this morning ( and I was out at 6.45:eek: ) but it was extremely frosty, and took about 10 minutes to de-ice the car. Cue frozen fingers, so when i got in the car I had to warm them for a few minutes before I could drive. It's beautifully sunny now, but not that warm yet.
I didn't get to have breakfast yesterday, but on my return from the gym I've had two yummy scrummy, ultra fresh new laid eggs and toast:D Thank you PenPen and Mouse:kisses3: They really are sooo delicious.
Aussie, hope the storms don't hit too hard. You'll be setting up a cottage industry soon, tissue box covers today, tomorrow it could be little hats for condiments:rotfl:
Chocolate orange hope the op goes well, and you make a speedy recovery.
tru, well done on giving up the ciggies. It really is worth it, healthwise and big time moneywise;)
Not sure what I'll do today, but in amongst it all, my BM will be going on:p
Enjoy a happy Monday all,
CM x
Oi HJ! How come you mess my posts but Penny says you mustn't mess with hers and you don't:pAre you turning into a big girl's blouse:rotfl:

DD is back to school today so it is quiet! DH is about to set off for a meeting and DD(18) is coming home this weekend in advance of her 19th birthday.
Might get her to fit in a quick shopping trip with her little sister and me as she needs new cothes and will trust her sister's opinion over mine.
DD(22) might try to get home if she can get cheap travel from Oxford.
Have been glugging home made elderberry as I had a sore throat a couple of days ago and I want to nip it in the bud.
Just about to make DH a sandwich and might put chicken in the slow cooker for tonight.
If I can find my recipe from the Tightwad gazette might use the cooking apple for apple and cinnamon muffins for later.
Going to have a nice hot cup of tea and glug some more elderberry.
See you later and big hug to everybody ill or in pain.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

(((Stefjb)))
Was most put out this morning when couldnt log on but at leas its back now.
DD has gone back to school today - DS has teacher training day but is currently round his friends and OH is at work so the house is empty - bliss.
Have cleaned kitchen worktops and had kippers for a late breakfast. WM is on and nearly finished so will empty that and refill in a minute. At the moment I am in my office and think will give myself 2 hours in here, hope to get a lot done.
Have tweaked the menu plan already this week and am having pork chops tonight.
Have a good one

Afternoon all
Fingers crossed for you Pen Pen.
Still thinking of you Jayward, Smokey, JackieO & Mrs Mix.
Big hugs for Pen Pin, I've had pleurisy & it's really painful.
Redruby, hubby & I are having lots of special times, lol.
I had some news yesterday, it seems my Ex & his wife are having a few problems, he's reverted to type & is trying to get control of her money & is drinking too much & becoming belligerent. I will offer her advice if things get really bad, but will wait & see.
We went to the new Mr T's that opened near us last week, it was nearly empty, we only spent £5.67, we just wanted to have a look & see how big it was. I usually shop online but it will be useful to have somewhere that big so close.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

back again....
Fog has cleared now and the sun is out!:D Been to the JobCenter for my usual cheery visit with my advisor:rolleyes:
Shepherds pie is made, and tried out the new USB turntable and recorded one LP onto MP3:j I shall be able to sing-a-long to my old tunes in the car now! (prob with funny looks from other drivers!:rotfl: )
Glad that Dusty Springfield won the One and Only on sat nite, I loved her! made me look for my Dusty cd!!!
Managed to get DD's "pound puppy" at last for her birthday - its obviously a 1980's revival toy!
Just about to look on ebay to see if anyone has one of those Little Tykes Easels - they are about £50 to buy! but they are good cos they are plastic so you can keep it in the garden (the last one was wooden from ikea and has fallen apart with the weather!:o )0 -
Well hello everybody :hello: long time no see etc etc.
In work today (boo hiss) but feel awful. I'm still battling a cold/'flu virus that has been giong 'round and 'round our office (thanks to one person who brought it in) and spent yesterday in bed. Still, at least I wasn't on ebay.:rotfl: Didn't make my sandwiches this morning (although I did bring my fruit and drinks) so have had to spend £2.05 on a panini but I guess at least it's warm and I'm not. Would have done them but OH was muttering that we were going to be late again (no prizes for guessing who it is who has their coat on first. Honestly, when I'm off work he still manages to be late so I rest my case M'Lord). Not really been up to much lately although we have booked a holiday to Egypt for the end of March. Also counted the money OH has squirrelled away from his driving for weddings job and it looks like that will pay for a week (or maybe two) in a cottage in Norfolk this summer! Result! Tonight I will be baking as I have double bought carrots as I wasn't too well when I was shopping so forgot I had some in. So carrot cake it is then and I think I'll also do an apple strusel cake as I found a load of ground almonds bought on reduce to clear a few weeks ago. As this will be a first I'll let you know how it turns out. Mr Rage and I have given up chocolate and crisps for Lent so the cake tin needs filling! I've also faxed a letter to my bank refusing to pay a £28 fee for going overdrawn 80p. I never go overdrawn - in fact it's been so long I can't remember when I last did but I seem to remember I got my fees refunded on that occasion. My bank used to ring you up if you were going overdrawn for a measly sum but all they seem to do know is ring me up asking me if I want a mortgage(three times in one week is the record). Anyway, the account that they're going to take it from today is the one I closed on Saturday :rotfl: . I've also told them that I'm going to close some other accounts as well - my savings one for a start as the rate is pitiful. Let's see how they like that:D . Right I'm off now. Enjoy the rest of the day peeps!
RageBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Shez... Early learning have this one which we have (in obligatory pink) and it's great.0
