Large bras - cheap and work?

Another vote for Bravissimo. I thought I was a 34D, and always had sore shoulders from the straps- went to Bravissimo and found out I was 30F.
My mum is 70 and has a small back and big front like me, she was measured locally and the bra she was sold made her bust look like 2 potatoes in 2 sacks! Took her to Bravissimo, she got a lovely lace balconette bra by Panache in a 34H and she now has a better silhouette than a lot of women half her age.
But- as reccomended before - don't forget to try brastop.com when you know your size, there a huge savings to be had.0 -
Well I've just got to post on this thread.
I too have dreadful trouble looking for 'hammocks'. 34FF or G depending on the make.
I tend to stick with Rigby & Peller ( ebay ) Fantasie, Freya, Panache and now considering trying out Vanity Fair. Does anybody know about VF hammocks?
I also recently purchased an Anita maternity underwired white bra code: 5135 which retails at £35 for £6 on ebay. I didn't realise it was a maternity one, but it looks like a normal bra and holds them up well. Great under T-Shirts.
Apart from Bravissimo, Figleaves and others previously mentioned here is a couple more links to peep at:

I would go to a specialist shop first and try some on . Take a flask with you because you will be hours.
Don't be coerced into buying the dreaded Doreen.0 -
I'm a 34G and cheap bra wise, I found matalan to be good, there is one specific bra in the D+ range that I do not know the name of, but it is lacey (but soft stretchy lace iyswim) and goes up to a G cup. These were my fave bras for a few years and only £7. Try them on though cos a lot of their bra's are horrific, it was just this one type that I found to be great.
Also the Katie price bra's in Asda are good, if you go for the full cup style, the other ones are useless as they give me double boob. Only about £14, but sometimes in the sale. Asda also do their own range and they are in the sale at £5 atm, they looked comfy, but I didn't try them on.
I also like bravissimo for fitting, but do not get on with the Freya range at all, they rub me under the arms, not sure why, but the £22 bra I bought in there has been worn twice, and as I have washed it, I haven't bothered to take it back.
I've just bought a hotmilk maternity/nursing bra and I have never known comfort like it! I'm in heaven right now! Lol!0 -
I went to Evans a couple of weeks ago at Fosse park , their is now a measuring service, the lady there measured me and I was shocked I had been wearing 42E bras when she measured I was a 46G, yes Ive had to throw about 10 bras away , she did recommend though a fuller cup, because I will have them down to my knees if I carried on, I bought 2 simple bras for £20 a special offer they are white and black not too awful old fashioned, Evans have 20% at moment on their site on the bras and the other she recommended is a plunge bra that are £30 for two and quite fashionable, red and black , have a look you will be surprised, try and get measured before your buy too.Debt £10k , HMRC £3K old debt £4k Jan 2021
Had biatric surgery was 135k 2016 now 97kilo 22.1.20 up to 106 kilo 12.1.21

I'm betting M&S have measured you wrong! (They reckon my sis is a DD but no way in hell, i'm a GG and she is the same size as me.)
I use Josh Lingerie in Kent who do a good range of styles and prices for big boobs, my day to day bras are £28 each, not too horrendous and I can say i'm kept firmly in place and they don't give me back ache! They are a full cup ctyle though.0 -
Been reading this with interest, I am desperate for a good bra. I have recently had some of the Katie Price and Asda padded ones which have all given up the ghost. I have been impaled twice this week with wires poking through into my boob!
I think I will try Bravissimo too. I am always wary to go and get measured as I was afraid they would try to get me into a Doreen pointy 1950's style bra, as even though my boobs are huge I am one of the few who are happy with that and want a bra to show them off and give a good shape, not just a Rawhide Bra (Head em' up move em' out). You can stand there and agonize........

OP, sorry but after extensive trying and buying over the years, I cannot find a large bra that is cheap and works. Maybe you can find one initially, but once you've worn the expensive ones, I've never found anything cheap that will match up in terms of fit, shape and support.
I must mention the Panache Confetti bra to anyone looking for for something feminine in larger sizes. I am a 34G and am AMAZED at this bra. It is the most delicate and pretty big bra I have ever worn. It holds you very securely, so is not totally the most soft and comfortable bra but the support and shape it gives me is amazing and belie it's flimsier appearance. The cups hold the boobs securely and it brings you in at the sides, but you can wear it under low tops. It is balconette style, so it doesn't give that pushed together look, just a fab, firm, youthful, up-front, hoist-'em-high, get-a-load-of-that cleavage!!!
There are some excellent reviews on figleaves site.....it's well worth a try if you are looking for a feminine and sexy bra in a big cup size.

Kandipandi, BTW, I've never found any pressure in Bravissimo, in it's their interests to bring back the enjoyment and pleasure in bra-buying for big sizes and give you lots of options to encourage you to spend!0 -
Bronnie that confetti bra is beautiful. Im sure there is a Bravissimo near me I will head into town after payday (that old chestnut) and indulge my boobs!:D
I just want a bra that i dont have to tug about with all day, when i am in t-shirt the neck ends up stretched like a cowl neck as my hands are always in there fiddling with straps positioning etc!!
Excited now - gonna have a snoop around their site, thanks. You can stand there and agonize........

Been searching ebay for the Anita bra I was talking about.
I suggest you go one cup size bigger in this make. I'm usually FF but the G fits wonderfully.

Not the best of pics there. But the seller has it in black too.
The Rosa Faia range is good too. Wish this was in my size...

If you go to Bravissimo, go on your own on a dedicated bra shopping trip! The first time expect to be there for at least a couple of hours. If you can avoid busy times it's much better.....they do have queues for fitting on a Saturday! Take you time and try on lots and lots! Fit varies so much, even within the same brand, so try on all their suggestions! Different bras suit different shape boobs.
I always try to match the bras up with plain silky M&S knix. Unless it's for something special, the matching briefs are hideously expensive!!
HTH and Good Luck!0
