I don't buy cheap cheese as the better the taste the less you need. And it always crumbles for me after being frozen.

And the blocks my mum buys for me are made on a local farm and are suppose to have a retail price of over £5.

    Strange that.

    Yours

    Calley

  • Does anyone know whether Brie freezes well? I have frozen some and am wondering what it will be like when I come to defrost and use it!

As title suggests, can I freeze either of these things?

Am about to do a shop which I want to last for the whole of next month.

I'm really trying to cut down and figure the less trips I make to the shops the less chance of unecessary spending (inevitable with 3 kids) :o

    Thanks,
    Al.

I freeze butter & cheese quite regularly. Butter is always fine & cheese is best grated & well wrapped. A whole block of cheese sometimes gets a bit of freezer burn around it's edges & goes a bit dry.

    Thank you Glad :)

Al, I've just merged your thread with an older one about freezing cheese that I'm sure you'll find helpful too.

You can, its not the best type of cheese to freeze tho, it will go watery.

If you store the unopened one in the fridge upside down ... you'll get a few more days out of them.
