    Aww thanks MrsMc. :o

DH has just been going over my maths in my 'weigh in' book... I'm sad and have a weigh in ledger besides my Grocery challenge ledger and my food diary  and he has discovered that I've lost 2st 2lbs so I'll have to update my sig. Have gone from 22st 5lb to 20st 3lb.

And whoever mentioned about a lb a week equally nearly 4 stones a year has my undying gratitude. What a lovely way to think of it and I could certainly live with it if thats how its to be for me. ;)

That would be me who said that :rotfl: ... when you have loads to lose its so much easier to have smaller goals -and be able to achieve them than set big goals and feel bad if you can't quite do it..only took me 35 years to think of that :p
You are doing wondefully ... give yourself a big pat on the back :T

BigMummaF... Let us know if there is anything we can do to help flower ;)
We are always here -no matter how you are feeling....
You will soon be back in the swing of it.... be kind to yourself and have a lovely weekend :D

    Hi All,

Had my weigh in yesterday and I now weigh 12 oz more than I did on Feb 1st!! I am going to have to start being even stricter I think and up the exercise. I bought a pedometer yesterday but it doesn't seem very sensitive. It will only count every other step so I suppose I just double that. I haven't tried it out on a proper walk yet just round the apartment and up the path to get it calibrated.

OH has a bad cold so I left him in bed all morning and sat curled up in a chair with a book once I was up, waiting to get bathed and dressed when he finally stirred. The good weather is finally back. It's brilliant sunshine and 22C with it predicted to get even warmer by Tuesday. No excuse now for not getting out for walks on the beach.

DS finally got home at 8.30pm last night, about 28 hours later than he should have been. You are right, Cheerfulness, it is his wedding in November that I am looking forwards to. Congratulations on your weight loss by the way, and to all the other losers.

    Food for today.
Breakfast: Muesli with raisins and skimmed milk
Lunch: Bowl of Right Balance cereal with skimmed milk. Pineapple juice.
Snack: Coffee and one tiny biscuit.
Dinner: Minced beef with mushrooms, peas, mashed potato

Hope everyone manages to stick to the straight and narrow over the weekend.

Feel sorry for me... feel very sorry..... I'm making rich fruit cakes! Keep licking spoons (not putting them back in of course!) 10" golden wedding is in and smelling fine, 9" for dd's 18th is ready and simnel is nearly ready. 6X8"oval. This is because the last 2 will then fit on the shelf better than a 7" round and a 9" round. Best air freshener there is, wish I could bottle it for when we've had fish or curry!

    Hi all,

I have had a bit of a busy day. Up early to watch my daughter compete in a gala so just had a HM smoothie before I went then after the swimming I went straight to Tesco and arrived home about half an hour ago starving!! So I've just had a cheese toastie which was lush  Tonight maybe sushi and salad not sure and depends if I'm babysitting

Steps yesterday a mere 6500 but I did 14000 the day before and I was tired so I excused myself ;)I have only done 5000 today so need to get a wiggle on to double that  I only managed that amount as I marched up the high street of the town the competition was in to find a Halifax as had recieved a cash emergency text from DD1 who is away at University:rolleyes2

Well done to all, and MrsM I may not have 4 stone to lose but you encourage me no end:A

Benthosboy... Sorry it was such a drastic event that lmade you lose the weight in the 1st place..but hopefully, once things settle down and you get to grips with that cooking for 1 -you will soon start to eat better and feel much healthier ;) , you will soon be looking a sprightly 42 again :p

    evening all

Not been a good day for me...started the day with some dried dates and cranberries, then two slices of brown bread with butter and honey...have since had hm turkey/veg soup, one quarter ham salad sandwich, hot cross bun, thin based hm pizza, another hot cross bun and six Roses....my brother gave me a box which I thought I had hidden, DD2 opened it and that was it, been dipping in most days since.

Did lots of cooking today...6 pizzas, large pot of 'bacon stew'....ham, carrots, onions, parsnips, sliced potatoes and chicken cubes...will be Monday's dinner and soup for a couple of days afterwards...can't survive this time of year without my soup 'fix'. Not had any more than 2 glasses of water...will try to remedy that before bed-time.

Congratulations to the losers and don't forget everybody....we shall overcome some day!

  • Hi Everyone - have had problems with my computer so haven't been online for ages but got it back this week and have just spent an hour or so reading the thread to see how you are all doing. Wow! - everyone seems to be doing so well and you all sound so positive and focused - it has really cheered me up. Wish I could say the same about me but the last month or so I have eaten sooooo much and now I have the reward that I weigh more than I have EVER done (don't tell anyone but I am almost 23.5 stone:eek: )and have even more to lose! I was so desperate last week that I went to see a surgeon about getting a gastric band fitted, but he wouldn't do it because of my binge eating tendencies. He suggested that I have a gastric bypass instead, but that is a huge operation with risks and it also costs £10,900 so I would have to get another mortgage to pay for it. He was really persuasive though and all the case studies he showed me of people who had lost 12 stone or more in a year made it a very tempting option. He said that he was certain that I wouldn't ever lose weight without surgical intervention. I left it that I would go back and see him on 3rd April and let him know my decision. In the first place I don't have £10,900 ( I had real difficulty scraping together the £200 for the consultation!) and in the 2nd place what I really want is to become all focused and determined like you guys seem to be (and I am also terrified of having such a big operation as people do and have died having it). So I've decided to REALLY try and reduce my portions and not binge for the next month and then hopefully I could be on my way to "naturally" losing the weight and saving myself a load of added debt. I will try and post every day but I feel a bit ashamed because I don't often have anything positive to add the way you guys always seem to have and I don't want you all to think I am just this annoying person with no will-power.

So - today so far I have had about a zillion calories but I will just be having a cup of tea with skimmed milk and no sugar for supper so that is my first postive action after the last month's fiasco eating wise! I also bought a pedometer (v. cheap in lloyds pharmacy - on offer so moneysaving too) and today have done 4000 steps, which is actually very good for me because the yesterday I did only my normal activity and did 1250 steps - so I guess that is positive too. Third positive thing is that I did a Tesco shop and only bough fresh healthy natural foods - no ready meals, sweets, biscuits, ice cream or the like - the kids were disgusted though and have gone to bed early in protest, but hey their eating habits are in need of a makeover too. I know that it is possible to lose alot of weight (Mrs M is my heroine) so I am going to make March the month that I finally get to grips with this eating properly lark.

Sorry for the long post and hope you don't mind me coming back on board.
    Jane
