Evening ladies :hello:
Gosh it's cold and windy here, nearly got blown off my feet walking home:shocked:
I had a packet of go ahead biscuits his afternoon:o My tummy feels a bit 'offy' and I keep feeling empty
I made egg florentine for tea with SW wedges. I topped it with a bit of cheese but weighed it - 40g and it was very strong cheddar so even though it was a small amount it was tasty
I'll save my yoghurt for later and might have a couple of muesli ryvitas if I feel nibbly.

Hello newbies

MrsM and Taplady - I love Bakewell tart (not the pud) We go to Bakewell regularly and I always have a piece with a cuppa! We buy our bread flour from a mill up the road at Rowsley.

Frogga - 10A's  Who's a clever frog!!!

Newly wed - glad you've been paid, hope mine's in the bank tomorrow please, pretty please!!

See you tomorrow folks :A

Hello again everyone. Thanks for all the useful info re sausagemaking, mincers etc. That will come in handy. I think I shall make a batch as described with grandma's mincer and take it from there.

Foodwise today? Hmmm, well following the funny smoothy this morning.....

Didn't get a snack this morning as I was fetching MIL from the hospital after her cataract op. All went smoothly. Settled her in at home and asked if she would like to eat with us this evening. It turned out that she was on cold chickeen, sauce and veg as left overs, as we were. So I took her leftovers and made a very nice chicken in mushroom sauce with bubble and squeak, comprising... her cauliflower in sauce, mash and carrot together, my cabbage, my boulangere potatoes and the remnants of Sat's mixed roast veg! Was great! Not repeatable of course!

Lunch was chicken broth with a few left over baked beans lobbed in. I'm sure I had something else but can't remember what it was! Whoops!

Only had half a snack this afternoon.. part of my chocolate allowance. WIll finish that tonight.

I still don't thik that I'm losing weight, but at the moment, working on keeping a stable blood sugar is my priority. It seems to be working in that I'm not getting very hungry or as tired. Still got to work at it a bit though, still learning what is high, medium or Low GL. This is really important for me, as every spring, when I come off my winter medication (I have SAD) I put on weight when my appetite returns. THis year, I'm hoping to be aware that it might happen, so when I start to reduce meds I will be particularly aware of what I'm eating..... sorry .. rambling!

Evening ladies

Glad my finger crossing worked for you Newlywed :D its a miracle your money cleared early -that normally only happens on those rare ocasions that you still have some money left from the previous month..when you are skint -the banks usually mess up , cash points are empty etc...sooo :j

Rockie..where abouts are you??? is the mill Cauldwell by chance? I used to get mine by the sack from there, but when we went over xmas -they were shut.. so we popped into Chatsworth farm shop...please tell me you have been there  .... when we 1st went the prices were rather  ..but when we went the last time -on xmas eve... we noticed that the prices had hardly shifted..so when you compared them to the normal shop prices..they weren't that bad....and on xams eve they were virtually empty and had plenty of fresh stock left :T
I would love to move into Derbyshire when we move home.... but i think we would have to go for something on the outer edge -if its cheaper:p .... we spent a lot of our childhood weekend out there and i still love it:D

Hope you can get your card back in the morning Toni.... we seem to be having some right problems and upsets on here don't we  still we will try and pull each other through :D
fingers crossed for your weigh in ;)

right i will get off again...have a good evening all -have to watch "life in cold blood " with David Attenborough... its all about fnogs today... so going to be watching lots of your relatives frogga :p

keep at it folks..we are getting there:j

• evening everyone

Queenpig - big hugs. try to find things to focus to help you thru but don't spend too much time distracting yourself, otherwise you skip bits of the process, then when you least expect it will hit you even harder.

Purpleivy - that dinner sounds great! Gotta love bubble & squeak. I was just also thinking i really fancy cauliflower cheese but I've never made it before, I'm sure MRSM posted a recipe on here somewhere, will have to look for it.

Anyway on to the dreaded weigh in...............(drum roll).............
I LOST 1 1/2 LBS!! :rotfl: :T wooo hooo!! I'm also very pleased as I've just discovered raspberry sorbet is only 95 cals for 1/5 tub, quite good for a pud!!
YIPEE!!
Have lost over a stone since 1st December now! Gonna work really hard now til Good Friday (although my weigh in will not be til Tues after) to lose 7 lbs.

Well done all the losers!

• Evening all and well done you toniwoty!

Been good again today, didn't eat anything in work apart from what I took in with me and tea was another chicken dinner..... not quite the same with no roasties but I did feel angelic!:A

Can't remember who wrote what now (sorry!) but.....

Re the heavy drink thing - fluid is heavy so best NEVER to get on the scales if you've just had so much as a glass of water (no point causing unnecessary misery I say!)

Re the cheese thing - use strong stuff so you won't need as much and grate it whenever possible, looks like you've got loads more then! Also don't be misled by the half fat stuff, I discovered there were actually more calories in that than full fat mature chedder!

And finally re the leftover Quality Streets - those orange and strawberry creams are my favourites! Good job I'm still feeling enthusiastic about this or I might have to go to bed and dream about them.....hmmm, still might actually!:D

Well done you losers! You'll all laugh at me, the newbie. I kept thinking that there were a heck of a lot of members of the WI on this forum and in this thread, that was until I realised!

• Purpleivy - That's brill, made me laugh. I can never work out abbreviations either. Takes me forever to make any sense of them.

Toniwotty - Look at you, how fab is that? Big pat on the back :Tto all the losers.

WI on Monday and have lost 8lb so far so I'm pleased with that. Weather has been so foul that I haven't been out for a walk, jog or body attack. Would like to do something this week just to destress never mind anything else. Oh well, we shall see what I can fit in.

B - 0
L - boiled eggs and wholemeal toast
D - cheese sandwich and piece of gingerbread

Nighty-night all
