    Morning Peeps,

Not such a sunny morning here, but that's not gonna dampen my spirits! :D

Welcome to the newbys :T Good luck to you all.

Can't stop thinking about Tappy. Can't wait til it's me at target. Reckon I'll be there by the end of the summer holiday's or at least by Sept 10th, which is the day I go back to work. Can't wait.

Have a good one all, keep your chin up if you're struggling. Just take a look at Tappy and realise you can do it ~ I wonder which one of us will be next? ;)

Im going to try and be more positive today, my meals are:

    b-muesli
l-mackerel pate and oatcakes, smoothie, yoghurt
    d-veggy/bean casserole, mash and peas

    s-2 oat biscuits, grapes

Ive already planned for tomorrows lunch so I cant go off the rails (ive got a day off which is always bad) and ive saved a few oat biscuits and grapes for snacks so im prepared.

I probably wont get on here much over the weekend or tomorrow. So at the weekend the meals will be:
b-hot x bun or crunchy nut cornflakes
l-soup or stew and possibly one lunch out
d-carbonara tomorrow (valentines dinner) then probably chicken risotto and fish at the weekend

Ah, so this is where you are all hiding!!!

    :T :T :T :T TAPLADY:T :T :T :T

Since my last post I seem to have had a weight loss 'lightbulb moment'. I don't know how it happened but a calm acceptance has come over me. The only person who can influence my weight is me and I have a choice - eat whatever I want and accept my weight will go up and up, or accept the fact that I will have to watch my weight and exercise for ever and not keep looking for the next miracle diet to 'fix me' then go back to my old ways.

So the last few days it has been much easier! Reading all the positive comments on here helps a lot and I am looking forward to learning lots more low fat recipies (thanks MRS M)

    Morning all, well done taplady!!!

Determined to be good today - have no money anyway and 2 weeks left till payday - how did that happen  Seem to have used all the gas money, all the electricity money, £30 more petrol than usual already this month but not gone anywhere extra  and don't even have enough for the next two weeks

The money doesn't seem to be stretching as far as it should for Gas, Elec, Food or Petrol :(

So snacks today are two apples.
Lunch is jacket spud and beans
    Tea is salmon and veg.

Morning everyone :D ....especially the newly super slim taplady :p

Back from a 1.5hr wander...picked up a pedometer jobby-that seem to be all singing-all dancing.. just have to figure out how to programme it as the instructions are 8 languages....no English :rotfl: still im getting used to that as its pretty much the norm out here..portugese, polish, russian, greek and the likes...but no bloomin English -its like a credit card and does all sorts...so should help -once i sort it out....about 2009 :rotfl:

lugged home a big white cabbage...got to 7lbs on the digital scales before declaring "overload" :rotfl: , carrots, onions....guess who is gonna be eating loads of HM coleslaw
Got some plums and some more tubs of cream cheese with garlic n herb whilst its on offer -especially since hubby has developed quite a liking for it  -not bad at 80c for 300g ....i panic when i start using the last tub as its something i use most days :p
Oh and got hubby a tub of walnut ice cream.... well i hung my nose over the various options for a pud tonight -before accepting that hubby never eats a pud straight after his meal anyway..and i wasn't much bothered either as i have my fruit and yogs...so i got him the ice cream instead..as he loves it, and i shall pinch 1tsp out of his dish as usual :rotfl:

Newlywed ... i think a lot of people are finding this month harder than January..on the Grocery challenge quite a few people have mentioned it  i guess its partly because in Jan you are using up xmas leftovers etc.. and then the gas n electric have gone up and not forgetting the food increases that are still happening in the UK  .
I saw a thing on the TV the other day saying that food and services had gone up, but it wasn't all bad as holidays and flat screen TV had come down  silly us ehhh we should all just go on holiday then come home and watch nice new TVs--- :wall: ..... mind we might need to pay the electric to be able to watch TV. I can't believe they compared the 2... Ok we can cut down on what we spend on food and most of us on here obviously have -but if your budget is as low as it can go what else is everyone supposed to do when prices keep going up:confused: ..right i will get off my soapbox :p
Anyway -lets hope the rest of this months passes quickly for you..

The_Cat..... welcome to the club :T .... its actually quite a relief when THAT moment comes isn't it ;) .... Ok NO quick fixes... but that also means NO going without :j ... and no losing loads and gaining it back with VAT, only to try and lose it again and off we go in that familiar loop ....

Morning frogga... glad all is well with you and yours :D -you will be at target in no time :T

Rockie.... well done on all that walking.. i doubt i will reach that -even though im deliberately walking.. mind i suppose i could make myself walk around the supermarket until i have done a set amount of steps :rotfl:

Well this is my meal plan for today..
    1. brekkie -just had 2 big plums..but will grab some more in a mo
    2. lunch will be - salad with avocado ...oooh and HM coleslaw:D
    3. dinner-im doing pasta hearts for tonight ahhhh :rotfl: with a sauce of peppers, onions, mushrooms, peas, broccoli, salami, passata, and a dollop of cream cheese to "creamy" it -and as always will give hubby most of the salami ;) and i use loads of veggies so its quite good really, oh and im doing HM garlic foccacia -in the heart shaped tins :grinheart but i will only pull a tiny bit off as im not overly bothered about it...
Here you go another recipe... you can soon swap the veggie selection over.. we really like this one :D well actually -i love it :p
    ROASTED ROOT COBBLER RECIPE
    serves 4
    per serving :- 5.5ww points or -335cals
    • 8oz carrot -peeled and cut into chunks
    • 12oz swede -chunked
    • 12oz parsnips -peeled n chunked
    • 1lb leeks -cut into thick rounds -i prefer chunks of onion again ;)
    • 150ml veg stock
    • low fat spray -optional
    • a 10oz can of low fat condensed vegetable soup -campbells type stuff
    • 5.5 oz self raising flour
    • 2tbsp fresh chopped chives/parsley -or 1 tsp mixed herbs is nice ;)
    • 1.5oz polyunsaturated marge
    • 4tbs low fat plain yoghurt
    • 1tbs skimmed milk
    • seasoning
    1. steam or par boil all the veggies
    2. tip into a roasting tin with the veg stock and squirt with spray if using
    3. place in a medium oven and roast for about 20 mins -or until tender
    4. tip into an ovenproof dish and stir in the soup.. you may want to add a drop of water-depends how runny you like things
    5. mix the flour and salt
    6. rub in the marge to resemble bread crumbs
    7. mix in the herbs and seasoning
    8. add the yogurt and milk and mix to make a soft dough
    9. **roll out on a lightly floured surface and cut out and arrange around edge of dish **
    10. place in a pre-heated oven -gas 5 190c 170fan for 20-25 mins
Rather than roll out the mix i weigh it and divide it into 4 -well i want my full share :rotfl: and then break each piece into 2 and gently roll it in my hand and flatten slightly.. i find they stay lighter than when you roll it out :D

right folks i will get off now -bet loads of you have posted whilst i have been typing again :o ...
keep up the good work..and good luck to all those weighing in today :D

    Morning ladies :hello:
Did ok last night and stuck to plan. :D
Bit stressed today as OH starts his new job……:undecided

Brekkie – boiled eggs and dry toast, just had a banana.
Lunch is last night’s leftover stew with couscous, not sure about tea yet, I had planned to do egg, SWchips and beans but might think of something else
Exercise today is belly dancing at lunchtime  I don’t think I’ll manage a lot of steps today though as for once it’s looking like a quiet day in work :shhh:

the_cat - I had a similar 'lightbulb moment' at the begining of the week:D makes life easier doesn't it :j

    Taplady - well done again, I bet you're sooooooooo chuffed :T :T :T

See you later folks :grinheart :grinheart :grinheart well, it is Valentine's day.......

Thanks for the recipe MrsM - that sounds like a good plan for a cheap meal - just need yoghurt and psnips - and then something meat like on the side for OH :D

  • :iloveyou: :happyhear Morning all and Happy Valentines day.

    Taplady :T What an inspiration:j

Rockie well done on the walking 10k is quite hard to reach everyday- I'm an old hand with a pedometer and it takes great effort for me to get to 7k in the week although I can hit 14 or 15 at weekends. Without effort I could get away with 2k:eek:
Mrs M I average about a thousand steps every ten minutes so I'm sure your long walks are clocking up the steps and thanks for all the lovely recipes.
Frogga you are doing so well in FEB:A

Well done to the other losers and tryers
    Weigh in tonight
