    Morning folks :hello:
Not too bad last night, I got the munchies but I had my HM roasted carrot and parsip pate on a couple of crackerbreads - really tasty :T

Got up early this morning (couldn't sleep) and went for a swim before work:j
I had soaked oats, yoghurt and berries for brekkie, I've got wild rice/rice salad for lunch, loads of fruit. Tea.......not sure yet but might involve squash as I've still got a huge lump left in the fridge so maybe rissotto??

Thank to Toniwoty for the chart :T  :T

I feel better this morning than I have done for ages :D I think it's because I finally got my house straight yesterday after all the mess of decorating. It looks nice and clean and tidy now :D I told OH it had better still be like that when I get home:rolleyes:

    See you later folks :A

My way isn't very technical :o I would use Powerpoint, draw the table then save the powerpoint slide as a JPEG then upload it to photobucket.

 THAT is a NONE technical way of doing it?????...jees give me a pen n paper anyday :rotfl: ...you lost me at "powerpoint" :o

    Morning folks :D

Just back from my wander... could have managed without as i didn't need any shopping but its lovely out and i needed the exercise ....so the only food i got was a box of 7 corn equilinia.. which is basically a mix of rice, spelt, oats, barley, wheat, wild rice, rye... all obviously in their natural state.. thought it might be a super healthy base for a rice type salad with dried beans etc in :A :rotfl: .... Its uncle bens so i bet you can get it in the UK.

On a non foody theme i picked up a new squeegy for the windows €1, 2 hand mops €1(a bit like the old fashioned string mop heads but smaller) and a kind of brush on a telescopic handle..its a bit like a rubber scrubbing brush but you can use it on tiles, outside and carpets €2 ..... can see me burning some extra wobble off if i attack the carpets with that :T all for €4 :D
oh and i was a wee bit naughty... i spotted a lovely wooden -what looks like a mini shopping basket , with a removeable cotton liner -and its for putting bread/rolls on the table(€7)....and a lovely long thin wooden holder for a salami, with a lovely special knife to put on the table too(€4)... I am a sap for anything like that :p ... so I can see some greek/mediteranian type meals coming on.. sat outside with fresh bread, oil n vinegar, greek salad, salami and lemon potatoes nomnomnom:D

    Sorry ...back to normal...
    meals today:-
    • brekkie-Had a huge chunk of galia melon (that is the one thats all rough outside and orange in the middle isn't it?) if not then i had cantaloupe :rotfl:
    • lunch -I didn't get to my soaked oats -so i might have them for lunch followed by some fruit or a yogurt
    • dinner -hubby has requested jacket salad..again :T but i think i might pass on the jacket and just have the salad..probably with tuna
    • snackies -fruit/yogurts
Did the salad last night using loads of leaves out of the garden :j .. had so much more variety.. including, watercress, baby spinach, mizuna, misome, komatsuna and giant red mustard... plus some others that i forgot to lable :p It was lovely -and so much more flavour... soooo glad i got carried away with setting the salad stuff as lettuce is rocketing in price  rocket! ged it? :rotfl: ..sorry :o

Have to report that the size 18s i got that fastened across my widest poing "as i have a high waist"... now reach up and fasten around said waist....:j hmmmmm so perhaps i don't have the high waist i thought.. it was just that the fabric had such a long way to travel "up n over" my belly it couldn't make it  .....they now come about 2.5" higher up :p

Suzid.... my hubby loved being in the Faulklands (before he met me obviously ;) ).... and as you say... better there than Afghanistan/Iraq ...just warn him ..hubby reckons the penguins stink to high heaven :rotfl:

Girl least likely to -how long has your OH been out of the army? doesn't he miss it at all? ... I love it... mind i wasn't as keen when hubby got sent to the gulf 4 months after we got married  ... still I am glad he went when it all kicked off and they were on full alert so to speak... it seems a whole lot worse now they are mainly there to peace keep and hand over

Well sis couldn't have her chemo last week as she reacted badly to the new one again.. but when the doctor came to check her they had set the pump up and she was suposed to have 1ml per minute... and in 5 mins they had pumped 29mls in  only 6 times bl**dy faster than they should  its all in her notes and she tells them as they know she reacted badly to one kind before... so not only did she think she was dying, feel like cr*p all weekend..but she didn't get the treatment that her specialist says she can't wait for  .. right rant over :o

On the better news front... my lovely nephew has just landed himself a job that will mean he gets to travel the world.. and his starting salary is £30,000 and he is only 19 :j ... woooohoooo there are no flies on that lad.. he is allready thinking 10 years ahead and to the promotional chances etc..which is why he is leaving his current job...

Frogga... you aren't allowed to sulk :naughty: ..Im sure you will catch me up and no doubt overtake me at the rate you can shift it ;)

right i had best get off and get the windows done..
    have a great day everyone...
hello to anyone not mentioned and congrats to any losses i might have missed

  • Hello everyone and well done to all the losers! I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday but the eating was pretty much to plan. Bought some asparagus as it was bogof but when I got it home I realised it was imported from Peru - I thought it was the British asparagus season ATM but I haven't seen any in the shops yet:confused:

I STILL haven't got TOTM so my mood is not great, and I have fluid retention - I hope it gets sorted before Friday so I can at least show a small loss.

I bought an ice cream maker for £14.99 in Costco yesterday and am going to have a go at churning some yoghurt into ice cream once the bowl thingie is frozen. I love ice cream and reckon this might be a good compromise but we shall have to see how it turns out. I also got three lovely retro mixing bowls - a giant one, middle sized one and normal sized one - in lovely cream ceramic for £3.97 for all three in Costco - I couldn't believe it - the look like the Nigella ones and they are a fortune! I also bought bagels:o but have been very restrained with them - had half a one for breakfast this morning.

    Food today:
Breakfast - half a toasted bagel with jam
lunch - chicken salad with coleslaw
dinner - not sure yet - might do a coronation chicken thingie with leftover cold chicken but then again I am getting a bit sick of chicken!

I bought some Branston chick peas in marsala sauce in the supermarket the other day and they are really nice - low fat too! They were by the baked beans and TBH I picked them up because I thought they were baked beans - only realised when I got home but I will definitely get them again - they were 47p on offer which isn't bad either.

Superspam - sorry about the X factor audition - I think it is all a fix anyway!

Cheerfulness and Taplady - hope is all going well with respective DS's

Suzid - the Falklands is a better option than Iraq or Afghanistan, but it's still a long way away...

Purpleivy - what are you filming for the BBC and will we get to see you on Telly???

Hope you are all having a good day - it's nice and sunny here today, which always helps (unless it's too hot and then I go into "fat woman in a cardigan even though she's boiling so in a very bad mood" mode!).

    Hi All

Well done on the losses Lainz and Droopydrawers, and thank you for the table of weight losses Toni.

After having a really good day yesterday I then spoilt it by eating a HM scone dripping with butter. OH came home and decided he didn't need a meal so I didn't cook after all. I had half a pizza and a frozen yoghurt and then later on the scone - which I'd made for DS and he hadn't eaten. Anyhow I froze the last scone for him another time so that I'm not tempted. Hopefully I can walk it off before Friday's weigh in.

I had an early walk today as OH was out early and I was supposed to be doing an afternoon's teaching at my old school. I'd arranged to meet my friend for 8.30am so continued with the arrangement even though school have now changed the day to tomorrow. We couldn't go for one of our really long walks as she needed to speak to various workmen but we managed just over an hour's walk and I always do an extra 15-20 minutes to her as have to walk up to her house first. As it didn't seem long we've decided to go again early afternoon, which will give her chance to sort out her workmen and me to get back when OH is due around 2.30pm.

I've been busy baking this morning as I found various bits and pieces that needed using up. I've made OH some mini jam sponges to have with the custard that needs using up and put the left over double cream we had into the sponge so that I'm not tempted by any more. I also made him some individual fruit jellies to use up some tinned raspberries that I'd opened the other day. I have scraped the bowl out for the sponge but won't be tempted by the cooked stuff.

RS - I freeze my yoghurts. I just dish out a helping into a small plastic dish and pop into the freezer for a couple of hours. It tastes really nice and is a good substitute for icecream. I've been using Lidl's fruits of the forest yoghurts and as long as you don't leave them in too long they are fine. If you do you just have to wait for them to defrost a bit first - it doesn't spoil them.

B: Muesli with skimmed milk and raisins.
Snack: Banana sliced with drizzle of double cream (!!)
L: Probably just stewed rhubarb and a dollop of Greek yoghurt after scraping out the mixing bowl!
D: Lamb leg steaks, new potatoes, peas, roast butternut squash, tiny helping of left over cauliflower cheese (basically the meal we were going to have yesterday).
    Snack: Orange.

    Have a good day all.

    Good Morning All,

Me and OH are having a good go at losing some weight starting today, so i've decided, if its ok with you ladies, to post here daily, which will hopefully keep me motivated enough not to eat stuff I shouldn't.

    Food for today
Half a banana on walk to work (too ripe!)
    B: Wheetabix and semi milk
L: Pasta with sweetcorn and two slices of quorn sandwich stuff chopped up
D: Quorn pieces and veg stir fry with rice noodles

Walked 1.9miles this morning (20min mile :o) and got another 2.18miles on the way home! Also going to try my new yoga book out tonight, wish me luck!!

BBC Manchester are coming to do a sound recording (I think, we've been told what to wear, in case they film as well!) of Man Utd anthem, something to do with the footy. Will let you know when I do!

    Hi to all

Thanks for the great welcome. Went to my weigh in last night at WW - lost 4lbs this week. What have I done different? Got my pedometer out and made sure I walked over 10,000 steps a day. It was a hell of a struggle but I did it and the difference it made was brilliant.

Going to be a testing time as no weigh in next monday due to bank holiday. Hope this thread will keep me in check.

Wanted to share a few tips that are really helping me at the moment. Quark - oh my I pray to this stuff now. On it's own it's well, GROSS! However, here are a few receipes that are really low in fat.

    1/2 tub of quark
    half a finely chopped onion
    chives (fresh or dried)
    dash of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of low fat mayo.

gives you a rich, creamy dip that for fellow weight watcher members is 1.5 for the whole thing. Great with carrots sticks and bag of low fat crisps.

    something sweet?

    1/2 tub quark
chocolate options (made up with just a little of boiling water to make a paste)
    bit of canderel.

mix together and it's like a chocolate yoghurt/mousse. Good for dipping strawberries/bananas in.

    Hope this might help someone.

20lbs lost in total, many more to go but hey, one day at a time.

    Eaten so far

    2 oatbix, skimmed milk

salad sarnie, yog and snack a jacks

    chicken chow mein for dinner

pint of beer a must as the sun is out - it's law you know!!

Oh and thanks for the idea for meal for my mum!!

  • Afternoon all.

:hello: hello to all newcomers and returnees.

Well am still not 100% - didn't fancy brekkie again today which is most unlike me. Did eat dinner last night (meatballs) but only small portion. Am currently eating a chicken salad bagel :D Have to say GLLT I don't like this not wanting to eat business - I lurve to eat (hence the big bottom:rotfl: ) And yesterday afternoon I refused chocolate:eek:

RS - those chickpeas sound lovely - will have to check them out.

Was thinking today that this time last year we were in sunny Italy for a wedding - oh to be back there. I know the sun is shining here but it is sooo cold.

    Enjoy you day all
