Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like it's heaven on earth."
Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!0 -
Taplady (()) - how awful for you - I have a little scottie who is 11 and I don't know what I would do if I lost him.
I don't really like chocolate all that much - it's not something I ever crave. I like sweets like jelly beans, wine gums and toffee (especially thorntons) better, but my real cravings are usually for cakes and pastry things and BREAD - I LOVE bread - crusty bakery type with loads of butter. I am also seriously addicted to peanut butter, so I try never to have it in the house, else I just eat it loaded onto bread WITH butter and either jam or honey, or I have it mixed in with vanilla ice cream - is it any wonder I'm fat????
Anyway I had a piece of lean sirloin steak for my tea, with that raw baby spinach, cherry tomatoes and a small jacket potato with a little cottage cheese on it instead of butter, followed by strawberries which I was going to have at lunchtime but didn't. It was very nomnomnom - the steak was gorgeous. I never usually buy steak as it's too expensive but I think that I will start to get it once a week, as it's not that dear and both DD's don't like it so it would only be one small piece.
Have done an internet sainsburys shop so I don't have to go in there tomorrow and be tempted by all the cakes in the instore bakery. My sister is coming for tea tomorrow and I usually do a big spread but I have decided that I will just do a roast chicken dinner with lots of veg, and make a hm peach and blackberry sponge for afters with some hm custard. That way I won't have any cos I don't like it that much, but even if I have a bit it won't be too bad as the sponge is fat free and the custard is made with skimmed milk.
Hope you all have a lovely evening. - Mrs M - did you look at the aerogardens?Jane

We had steak yesterday recovering and managed to get some really lovely scottish steak reduced so will be having it the next 2 fridays. (my lads don't like it either.:j )
Well I'm over the moon because I've finally got my blood oranges.:T :T I bought a net of oranges yesterday for 19p reduced, was in the middle of making orange and chocolate muffins and suddenly noticed the tell tale speckled skin. Cunningly disguised as 'sweet sicillian oranges' they were my beloved blood oranges...sitting right under my nose for an evening without my being aware. And all the sweeter because they were so cheap. Am a happy bunny now...and they were dark, dark red too. :T Oh its the little things that make my day. :rotfl:
Okay, gotta get off cos Jude Laws on the tv.. its a trade off because Cameron diaz is in the movie too, and Kate Winslet , so other half has some eye candy too.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Hi Jane,,
Looks like a good plan and you're starting to take control and do what YOU need to do. You don't have to ride roughshod over everything/one else, just make sure your needs are catered for. It sounds as if you are putting coping strategies in place as well. Want to help me?"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Pauline, I think you sound as if you are doing really well! You sound to be mega organised (unlike me!).
Your weekend sounds fab - when you were describing it I was reminded of that film "The Big Chill" . The mexican theme sounds lovely - I don't like refried beans though - yuck! I do like pinto beans before refrying though IYKWIM - I always use them in chilli instead of kidney beans.
hope you all have a great time - mind you I bet you will be exhausted at the end of it. Are they all sleeping at your house?Jane

There's a family of Mum/Dad/Daughter staying. Mum& dad in the spare room and the dd in with my dd. DD's b/f will go on ds's floor. The dad and his son live locally and will [STRIKE]stagger[/STRIKE] walk home. Not sure how many from the other family.. Probably the couple, maybe their dd as well. They only live at Macc, so will drive home as they have something on on Sunday morning and have to be back.
There was a time when everyone stayed! There were 13 altogether and all stayed. A bit cramped, but we always had a lovely weekend.
I haven't found pinto beans yet, so will use a pack of mixed beans that I soaked and cooked last weekend, Canned refried beans are revolting... well my dh eats them...
People always think I'm organised.... but it's a facade, a myth, an illusion LOL!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Mmmmmm, just had low fat vanilla icecream for pud and it needed something extra so mixed two tsp cocoa powder, 1 heaped tsp cornflour, 1/4 pt skimmed milk, bit of vanilla essence and sugar together and hey presto - chocolate custard type stuff nomnomnom (I didn't have all of it, that would have been greedy;), plus I'm not supposed to have cocoa - oh well, a little bit every now and again ....)0

We used to call that Humber Mud, round here I guess it would be Mersey Mud!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
