Morning all,
Quick update on the bread saga of yesterday. Rose nicely and cooked fine but I now think I know why it hadn't mixed properly. The loaf is the size, consistancy and weight of a breezeblock   !!! No wonder the poor machine couldn't cope yet the recipe was in it's own book. Very odd.
Anyway yesterday had usual oatabix breaky, 1/2 tin of baked beans on doorstep of HM bread :rotfl: and fruit with yogurt. Tea was Gordon Ramsey recipe potato wedgies with poached egg. Didn't need a snack as tummy still weighed down by bread!
Today usual breaky and second dose of beans on toast for lunch with an activia yogurt for pud. Tea will be a stir fry with noodles as I want to get some pepper seeds to try and grow.
Beautiful day today so out in the garden this after to do as many of the jobs as I can, though the forecast for tomorrow is good too so should get lots done.
Hope you're better soon toniwoty, offspring can be so kind sharing everything with us  .
cheerfulness the 2 shorter targets sounds good to me as they're quite close to my usual weigh in days. I leave it in your and MRSM's capable hands.

Hi All,
Everyone sounds very cheery and purposeful this morning so hope it all pays off. We were up a bit earlier than usual to take DD to the airport. Ironically, after a weekend of non-stop rain it was lovely this morning - much to her frustration. I actually got up at 6 am and wrote my article before going back to bed for an hour and got up again at 8.30am.
We only have 5 days left here so we are crossing our fingers for hot weather for the last part of our stay. We have various tidying up jobs to do and meals involve finishing everything off and emptying the fridge and freezer. Hopefully, I have judged it right and we won't be left with anything but will not run out either!!
I've already done around 8,000 steps this morning, walking from airport to car and then up to the library and back so it shouldn't be too difficult to make it up to 10,000. I did loads of walking yesterday, around 20,000 steps I think, which should help the averages.
B: Fruit and fibre mixed with muesli and served with skimmed milk. Pineapple juice.
L: Left over kedgeree from Friday night. Banana.Last of the tagliatelle with cheese and mushrooms. Raspberry yoghurt.
Snack: A Coke at the Marina in Gibraltar before we came home. Orange.
Have a good day all.

Forgot to say that I'm trying to chew more, tho not compulsively to a fixed amount---just till it's chewed beyond tasting recognition:p And I have to say that I'm enjoying my food more by doing it too...
Did anyone see that bit where Paul McKenna had about 8 volunteers & blindfolded them before putting a full english breakfast in front of them? They were left to eat until satisfied & ALL of the 8 left a noticable amount on their plates, admitting that would not have been the case if they'd been looking. You've obviously not seen my belly... :rotfl: :rotfl:
Point taken though. Might give the chewing thing a go. It would help if I had a table to eat dinner on instead of my knee, but hey ho
I'm also looking to replace my knackered / cracked crockery but how huge are "modern" dinner plates    the ones I had as a kid are about 2/3 the size, and they're what I'm after. Smaller plates = smaller portions! So if anyone has any recommendations...."She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"

It is beautiful outside now. The sun is dazzling. Just dashed in for a quick update before I get my gardening gloves on. :j
Just cooked up a load of mixed beans that I had soaking overnight (cheap and cheerful food  ) and asked DS2 to look through a cook book and choose something for me to help him cook tomorrow.
He picked Rich Bean Mousakka. How lucky was that! :T Actually a complete shock too as mr healthy he is not.
I'm happy to do the little challenges if everyone else is. Maybe when everyones been in later and added their input we can finalise the next date. Do love having something to focus on.
Right, off to make a big mug of tea to take out with me in the garden and start clearing the patio ready for all my lovely veggies. And I think I may do some pricking out, my favourite job of the season. :j Well...other than eating my home grown goodies.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

COMe on Helen, excuses, excuses. I'm sitting here with my hummus, carrots and cucumber, NOT at a table and chewing it into oblivion PMSL!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I’m back :hello: and thank you for the warm welcome. A little about me - since meeting my beloved Mr Maid 8 years ago I have put on around 5 stone. Until he came on the scene I had done really well and lost around 3 stone at WW. Since then I have lost some and gained some and, having recently turned the big 40, have decided that it is time to finally get a grip and do something about it! I have always done WW in the past and it does work, if you do it. But now I don’t want to keep going to pay to be weighed. I have my gym membership and don’t want to cough up for any more. I am hoping that by joining you lot I will get the support I need – for free, and with a laugh into the bargain (cos you are all mad!!) It is just me and OH, no wee ones (not blessed in that department). Cook most stuff from fresh and am a keen batch cooker and freezer user.
So – I start today, and what do I do – forget to weigh this morning. I prefer to weigh first thing (after the obligatory wee). There was a reason I forgot – tiredness. We got the message at 4.15 this morning that we are aunty and uncle again (for the 7th time – costs me a fortune), so I didn’t really sleep well after that. Wasn’t until I was leaving for work that I remembered. Will try harder tomorrow! Will think of a target when I have weighed.
Food today:
B Muesli with Skimmed Milk, Banana and Greek Yoghurt
L Ham, soft cheese and salad sandwich, York and Apple
D Meatloaf, new pots and veg
S Orange
Meatloaf is not very slimming I know but I had a recipe to try and as my plan is to just eat sensible portions and not cut out things I shall have a small piece with a few pots and lots of veg. The rest will make another meal and lunch rolls for OH. I am also trying to lay of the alcohol for a while – if I drink I eat – bad combination. The other problem I have is Twinks Hob Nobs – soooo nice. Made another batch yesterday and they are disappearing fast.
So - that is me - will be back to report on current weight and will look forward to the next challenge.MRSMCAWBER wrote: »Morning all
KentishMaid.... you made me chuckle last night ..... "BMI says i should be dead" :rotfl:
Well – that maybe a slight over reaction but it might as well say that!! Mrs M – you are doing so well – an inspiration to all. By the way – your hubby plays a lot of golf – is he ever at home?? Then again, mine is always in the garage “tidying” or out on his blessed motorbike. Bless em!Joined WW again!! in November 2010 - four stone loss so far :T

Hmmmm. Just got dragged to chemists because apparently today IS weigh day, and not Wednesday as I thought
. Anyway I've lost 1lb (well it should be 1.5lbs but I never count the ounces!). Bit..............dunno.........happy to have not put on as its TOTM...........I wanted to write TOTP for top of the Pops there
- anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, I suppose a 1lb off is one less to lose. And just you wait, next week I will have lost at least 2. And that ladies, is a pwomise!

Hey - a pound is a pound I say - and at least it is coming off and not going on!! Monday is not really the best day to weigh I don't think, especially after the weekend.
Keep up the good work.Joined WW again!! in November 2010 - four stone loss so far :T

Afternoon all
Back in for another quick check of what is happening ..not that im nosey -honest
Have got loads done..including transplant loads of trifids... well they are beans but they were taking over the spared bedroom... so OUT they have gone into their troughs and the fleece is attatched to the top -so i can tuck them into bed tonight... bet we get frost  ... im going to plant some more just in case they die ...but not yet as they sem to grow really well at the moment..those little blighters are over 2ft tall  .. thats the only problem...now i have made some gaps in the windowsills and stuff im wanting to plant more
Cheerfulness.. i love a brew in the garden but always end up with soil in me cuppa..so i swiped a nescafe insulated mug thingy one with the sip top...a grown up baby beaker really :rotfl: out of the cupboard.. must look a right tramp... plodding round outside barefoot, covered in muck n allsorts hair billowing in the wind clutching me mug in one hand and me trowel in the other :rotfl: not to mention chuntering to myself as i go
Nix.. well done on that loss... its 2 packs of lard :j
Kentishmaid....
My BMI was 49 when i started  so i know how you feel
We are similar to you... met nearly 8 years ago, married 6 this year and as yet..no little ones either... just won't happen -still hopefully if losing weight doesn't help (not that we know what the problem is -apparently we seem to be in the "unexplained" catagory)... then we are going to look into adoption/fostering... failing that then when we leave the army we are gonna buy a trike and grow old disgracefully :T
Yep hubby has started playing more golf since we moved out here.. but any during the week doesn't make any difference to me as if he wasn't golfing he would be at work -plus he is paid even if not at workand at a weekend i normally walk round with him on 1 day (need the exercise.... and the course is cut out of woods so its lovely , and then on the other day all the lads meet up for a game...plus it keeps him from lolling round the house under my feet :rotfl: . I only said the other day that now the light nights are in we can start going after he finishes work sometimes.. he thinks im being super lovely -when actually im after the extra exercise
BigmummaF.... 22nd dec is my birthday :j 34 weeksjust worked out that if i can carry on losing 1lb a week i will be down to 12st 7.5lbs and if i can do and average of 1.5lbs a week i will be down to 11st 4.5lbs... and my target is 10st 10... so i would be just 8.5lbs away :T oooh im excited now... thankyou mummaF...you have just super motivated me... gonna double the efforts now..
Girl least likely to
A couple of sausage won't do any harm... i had 2 slices of hm bread with bacon and tomato sauce on Saturday... and it was scrummy
What is it with us women.. we have this compulsion to "use stuff up" i had pasta salad for lunch because i made too much for hubbies lunch today... i wouldn't have chosen it..but it needed using up
Men look in the fridge and go for what they WANT.. well the ones i know dowe look at what needs using up before its past its best
On the "sluggish system" front.. have you tried some lemon juice in warm water 1st thing every morning ? that helps your system rather well
right i had better go and do some more...
have changed dinner to jacket potato with cottage cheese n salad tonight as i can't be ar*ed to do 2 things and we both love that anyway....hubby can have bolognaise tomorrow
hope everyone is having a lovely day with all this lovely weather :j-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
