    Evening All :hello:
I've been busy sorting out the end of the spare room that I've decorated and finishing off the shelving in preparation for doing the other end. I've done so much liftin, shiftin and varnishin that I've sprained my thumb - oooooh it's sore

I was a bit naughty last night....I finished off my easter egg:o It's been in a box at the back of the fridge since easter but because the fridge is nearly empty I spotted it :EasterBun

I've been good today, Eggs, mushrooms and grilled polenta for brekkie, jacket with pasta n sauce for lunch and quorn sausage, potatoes and onions baked in stock and broad beans for tea. I'll have a yoghurt in a bit and maybe some fruit. I might have a glass of wine purely for medicinal purposes of course!

Well done to the losers :T

    Welcome newbies:wave:

    See you tomorrow ladies :A

Hope all the poorly ones are feeling a bit more chipper now. My SIL was laid low with that awful sicky bug thats going round so I feel for you Toniwoty, not nice at all.

Have eaten exactly as planned today..well almost. After I had my turkey schnitzel I was still feeling a bit hungry. Now these days that is a cause for great excitment to me because I no longer ignore a sign that more food may be needed. :D
I decided to be good and leave it half hour to double check but ... I was still hungry. :j :j Off I toddled to the pantry to find my lovely crackers and on route I picked up my HM hummus from the fridge. :T (funnily enough the hummus that I thought a bit strong for me when I made it seemed perfection tonight after being frozen  )
Anyway, had a delicious carpet picnic and thoroughly enjoyed it all the more knowing that I wasn't eating unnecessarialy. :D

OH and I are watching 'come dine with me' and one of the 'cooks' has just been stating to her guests that you can't eat so and so if you're losing weight. OH was scornfully telling the screen that 'of course you can you silly woman.. you can eat anything if you watch your portion size.' :p
Ohhhh by jove I think he's got it. :rotfl:

Better go back and keep him company on the sofa. Actually fancying another coffee so will go get round him. :D

Just spotted your Rockie. Wow! You still have chocolate eggs in the house after all this time...you are too good. :p

  • Have been almost good today, Early lunch of the veggie sausages in the HM tomato sauce (I tend to make big pans full :o), then only a pear 'til my mother's roast beef dinner/tea (think I hit the fruit and veg 5 a day for once!). And a little chunk of dark choccy.

Have some dried beans simmering ready to make a stew-y type thing in the slow cooker tomorrow. Also baked a banana tea loaf (courtesy of be-ro book) - my thinking is if I get a sweet craving this will hit the spot without the additives etc and saving some cash and plastic! Have cut it up into little chunks rather than slices..
Also did some exercise!! This being my main weakness. Have a selection of DVDs so did 20 mins yoga and 40 mins dance, plus the walk uphill for my sunday roast :p

Plan for tomorrow is porridge or smoothie for breakfast, HM onion & pearl barley soup for lunch, sandwich after work, then two gym classes - step and aqua aerobics. Then a bowl of stew-y stuff when I get in :D

    Wish me luck :rotfl:

    Hi all,

Huge congratulations to the losers...keep it going!

    Today I ate:
    small helping porridge made on water with good handful dried mixed fruit cooked in microwave, sliced banana, spoonful sugar, milk, coffee;
    4 delicious sausages;
baked salmon, broccoli, baked spud, 2 large fruit scones with butter, water.
bowl of chorizo and chickpea soup ( Rachel Allen recipe)

Off to Cork for a funeral to-morrow, by train, so will be eating as well as possible.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

I'm wearing a pedometer to gauge how many steps I'm taking each day. I'm quite shocked at how few I do at the weekend. My weekdays range from 5,000 to 12,000, but at the weekends only 3,000. BF is here at the weekend with his car and during the week I walk everywhere. Isnt that a shocking variation? Does anyone else keep tabs on their 'steps'? I definately need to do more exercise!

    Morning everyone,

Today i will be mostly eating:-

    BF beef spread on toast
    Lunch beans on toast
Dinner Chilli con carne & jacket spuds

I might have a snack or two later, it depends what we have in, i think there might be some frozen scones in the freezer so i`ll be having a poke about in there when i get home later, i also need to do a new freezer inventory as there are far too many mystery containers for my liking at the moment.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning everyone,

Looks like it could be a good day today. Just checked the online weather and its actually creeping into double figures. If we get the promised rise to 16 by Thursday I shall be a very happy bunny. :D

Woke up feeling starving so thoroughly enjoyed my Readybrek. ;) I honestly think I must have been 9 or 10 years old since it was the norm to be hungry at breakfast time. Generally in later years I was still stuffed from the night before. :o

    Food today:
    Readybrek (as mentioned)
    Hummous spread on toast
Blue cheese & walnut pasta with roasted herby tomatoes & mushrooms

Snacks - Red grapefruit, apple and orange.

The lads won't touch my pasta tonight as they hate blue cheese so they're having pasty instead. Don't know what they're missing.

Well, Mondays 'muck out' day so I ought to get stuck in with the washing and hoovering. DS2 will be up shortly so I can whip the sheets off his bed and get him set on with his work.

Must get a loaf of seedy bread done with my last lot of dried yeast. In the interests of economy (no pennies in purse :o ) I've bought fresh yeast so will be hand baking this week.  Not sure why this feels me with trepidation as I made my yeasty things by hand for years, knocking out a weeks worth of bread every Monday when the kids were little, but I've got soft and love my BM. And I've grown lazy. :p Still, might help the bingo arms with all that kneading... altho Delia does a very good 'no knead' bread that I used to like. Now which book was that in?

Right decided, another cup of tea is needed to fortify myself for the Monday madness that will soon descend. Enjoy you day girls and all the best to those that weigh in today. ;)

    Morning folks :hello:

Cheerfulness - I only had the egg left 'cos I'd forgotten it was there! I' don't eat chocolate very often but when I do I usually eat a lot :o It was really good, dark chocolate so it was good for me wasn't it ;)

Skintscotslass - I average 10-12,000 in the week and usually only get to 5,000 at the weekend unless we go out for a 'proper' walk but I guess it averages out.

I was good last night, didn't even have my glass of wine (I fell asleep):D

Today I've had boiled eggs with soldiers for brekkie and have egg and cottage cheese salad for lunch. I have fruit with me for the nibbles. Tea will be decided when I get in depending if OH is in or not.........currently in dispute over the hours/travelling in this new job so not sure what's 'appenin'.............

yes MrsM, he might end up wearing it  :D

Buswy again today, hoping the boss is back to give me a lift...

    See you later folks :A

    Morning all

Just thought id have a break from the garden and post before going back out and get some more done :j Its lovely n bright out there but a bit windy... im trying to figure out where to put all my tubs n troughs.... thinking about what needs most support etc.... me thinks me gonna have too many plants n tubs :rotfl: ..... still even if some end up in the middle of the patio area..i don't care :p
    1. Had an apple n yogurt for brekkie
    2. lunch is leftover pasta salad... made too much for hubbies lunch
    3. Huby has requested spaghetti bolognaise ...don't fancy it so im thinking of roasting onions, sweet potato n parsnips for me nommmmmm hubby doesn't like sweet pots or parsnips..so they are mine...ALL MINE :j
I was going to pop out for a few bits -but figured i would make the most of the sun and get in the garden..and nip for the bits tomorrow if i feel like it...
Have a kilo o courgettes ... so i think tomorrow im gonna make a courgette quiche and have spotted a recipe for courgette teabread that looks reallly dark n sticky... so im gonna have a go at that tomorrow too :D will report back and post the recipe if its decent ;)
Don't actually NEED anything so if i can hold out for a few days until i need fruit it will be a bonus :D

Cheerfulness... isn't it weired when you feel actual "hunger" :o like you, i was so used to getting up still stuffed from the day before  .now when i feel hungry its still quite a surprise :rotfl:
I always make my bread by hand and i mix it leave it to rise, knock it back, tip out and shape and stick in the tin... so very little actual "kneading" at all and it never fails me :T ... I wouldn't go back to a BM ..mine is boxed up in the basement ;)

Skintscottslass... loads of us were using pedometers to see how we were going.. i very rarely use it now as i know pretty much how many steps i use for the walks i do regularly.... home to supermarket, home to garden centre, home to 2 supermarkets and the trip round the golf course... i know that both supermarkets and the golf course is well over 10,000.... garden centre about 5,000 and 1 supermarket about 7,500 :rotfl: saddo :p

Anyway folks ..has anyone thought of what the next challenge date was??? was it the 1st official day of summer?...

well i had better get back outside and see what i can fit where :o wish me luck :rotfl: ..
good luck to anyone weighing in today....
have a great day..and i will pop back later... keep at it folks:D

Hi rockie...nearly missed your post... hope OH gets to keep his dinner on a plate ;) does sound like a devil of a job he has... but it puts money on the table doesn't it !!
I know 1 of my brothers works his n*ts off for not very good money but he is a serious grafter and realises that providing for his family is the only thing that matters... an if that means doing cr*ppy then he does it ...
Hope your OH finds something better soon.. its much easier to get a new job if you are in work isn't it ...

I can't remember what the suggestions were for the next challenge date.
The current one finishes offically on BH weekend so that around the 4/5th May. Not sure when the 1st day of summer is. My diary say the summer saltice is 20th June and midsummer 24th June.

Depends what we fancy.. a longer 7 week challenge or a couple of quick short ones... ie end of May BH (3 week challege) followed by the June one (4 week challenge). I'm easy either way. ;)
