So sorry about your wine....just when you were looking forward to a glass....
MarieWeight 08 February 86kg0 -
Morning everyone,
What a shame about your wine shawtj2.. I did that with a bottle of red once and the cat was all over it like a rash!
Just a little loss of 1lb for me this morning but I'm still overjoyed because it now means I'm officially a 19 'something' now. :j :jI've waited so long to be able to say that.
DS1 was saying the other day that he hadn't really expected me to keep losing after the 3rd or 4th week (when I normally pack it in) and that he's shocked that I've been losing for 11 weeks. What really made me think tho was that he asked me what had changed and I told him I had do it this time or I'd eventually get very ill. He said he knew and then looked so serious when he said, 'don't stop doing this, will you mum?'
I don't think that I realised that he knew how bad things were getting for me healthwise and that he was worried. Gave him a cuddle and told him he had nothing to worry about. Well, I've got you lovely lot to keep me sane when my self confidence faulters. In truth too, I'm finding this quite easy and I'm in no hurry to shift the weight... a gradual loss suits me just fine.
MrsMc - hope hubby got back okay. Am guessing by your absence on here last night that he did.
Recovering- requested the Little Lady agency book from the library and it should be here by Monday. :j
Rose wood - hope you're feeling a bit better this morning.
Food today:
Weetabix
Cheese and biccies with tomatoes
Veg spring roll with steamed veg and noodles (didn't fancy yesterday)
Snacks - orange yoghurt, apples, dried apricots
Well, that just leaves us one more week till the end of this GF challenge. Hasn't it gone fast although it was just a 3 week one this time. That leaves me 2lbs to lose then next week. We shall have to see..might have to do a spot of gardening and spring cleaning to get some exercise.
It also just leaves me 1lb to lose to get my next reward from the lads, (the PJ's I've already bought..)
Have a great weekend with lots of fun and plenty of rest everyone. Then we'll all be set for our final push in the last week of this challenge. We can do it girls! :beer:AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Morning all! Weigh in day was yesterday, but it was a Frantic Friday, so no time to post.
Very pleased to report that DH is storming along and has lost another 5lbs this week (11lbs cumulatively) and I've shifted 2.25lbs (6.75lbs cumulatively). I'm within striking distance of where I ought to be now (actually below my three-children-ago weight. Hurrah!), but DH is in for the long haul - 1st 10lbs to go. I know we can do it if we stick to eating a) OS b) sensibly but sometimes it seems like very hard work.
Good points - 1) the 'diet' has accidentally changed our lifestyle so we have our last meal of the day around 5pm (children permitting).
2) This means we are both mostly asleep by 10pm, and DH hasn't been staying up til daft o'clock on the computer and we are all ready to go much earlier in the day.
3) DH is happier in himself and with himself
Bad points:
1) I'm really fed up with eating hessian. High fibre is all very well, but you need sugar to make it interesting...
But enough maudlin self-pity. We're getting there, and that's what counts. So, today's menu:
B - fruit, raisin bread & jam (children), bran flakes & milk (us)
L - open sandwiches on HM granary bread (Hurrah for my new breadmaker)
D - HM spaghetti & meatballs with gravy & veg (children) or HM tomato & veg sauce (us).
Snacks - fruit, HM yoghurt.
Hope you all have a good and successful day.

Morning all,
Cheerfulness- what a sweet story about your son, thought I was going to well up there, big softy that I am. Congratulations on being in the teens:j:T
I was unwell yesterday afternoon resulting in a 3lb weight lose this morning but It's not real or even my weigh in day and now I've kept down a cuppa probably gone:rolleyes:
So my steps yesterday only 4267, fairly unlikely to do 70000 this week!
B- digestive bikkie (being cautious)
L- ??
D- still got the prawns to use may have a curry
Have a good day all

Morning all
Cheerfulness ... don't know what you mean:p
MrsMc - hope hubby got back okay. Am guessing by your absence on here last night that he did.
Yep hubby made it back... a right grotty pile he was too... mind he had been living in the woods, sleeping in a hole in the ground with a bit of canvas stretched over a rope ..in the thunder and hail storms  so it was down into the basement to get his kit into the washer and into the shower..although a pressure washer might have been better :rotfl: .....
He has just tootled off to camp to "liberate" some tent pegs so he can anchor my 2nd tent/coldframe thing down... i need the room... have carrots, peas, potatoes, onions, beans, beetroot al in the 1st one and cucumbers in the spare bedroom that need more room :rotfl:
Hubby has also noticed how little milk i have used whilst he has been away... which proves that i sit waiting for him to make me a cuppa :rotfl: ... didn't like to tell him that most of the milk that has gone, has been used with cereal.... mind...somehow -now hubby is back..i have got my "tea belly" back
i just don't think to make one very often
:T :T :T :T :T on the loss as well.... wooohoooand bless you son -what a little love
..and what an incentive to keep on going for you
I think our families get so used to the diet attempts.. a few weeks and we throw it in as we have been trying to do the all or nothing approach.... i think my hubby is in trauma.. thinks i have been snatched by aliens -as this time its just so straight forward...
Mrs Cupier.... well done on your loss and hubbies too .... men seem to decide ok im gonna lose weight and just "Do it" don't theyIm sure part of it is that they don't generally YOYO like us ladies.... so well done to both of you :T
I think today is going to be a "not doing much" day  .. although we are planning a trip round the golf course at silly o'clock tomorrow morning -which im looking forward too....
Haven't even had my brekkie..but its too late now.. so will wait for lunch
meals today are :-- poached egg on toast (made a new loaf yesterday;) -have cut right back on bread so i should enjoy this
)
- hubby is having duck n pancakes( i froze last time i made it him) and im doing him special fried rice... not sure what im going to have yet
.... might have roasted sweet potatoes with peppers, mushrooms and some chicken..
- snackies -as always, jelly, fruit or yoghurt
Hope everyone has a great day
and hello to all those i have missed-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 - poached egg on toast (made a new loaf yesterday;) -have cut right back on bread so i should enjoy this

Well done Mrs (and Mr!) Cupier, and to you Cheerfulness.... bet that pound loss actually felt like a lot more with the huge boost it's given you being in your teens again - well done you, keep it up!:T
Happy to say the Easter eggs are still intact in the car boot!:D
Had porridge for brekky today, lunch will be soup. Haven't decided what I fancy at the Italian tonight yet but do know I'm going to be good today to leave plenty of room for it whatever it might be!0 -
Hello and :T :T :T to Mrs C, Cheerfulness and Saversarn (and anyone I might have forgotten) on their excellent weight losses! Glad hubby got back okay Mrs M. Cheerfulness - glad you managed to order the Little Lady Agency - hope you like it!
Mrs C - what kind of breadmaker did you get? I keep hankering after one, particularly as we get through so much bread for packed lunches and DD1's bf who seems to be able to eat a loaf at a time when he's here. He lives in a student house and I swear that he never eats at home and fills up like a squirrel when he is here!
I haven't had any breakfast as I woke up a bit late and had to be at the hairdressers for 9, so I am looking forward to my lunch. I am going to make a big salad with cold chicken and won't have any bread to try and keep the carbs down.
Dinner tonight will probably be roast chicken and veggies, followed by sf jelly and yoghurt - or I might do the yoghurt with options thingie.
I spent alot of time thinking about the weight loss surgery thing last night and in the end I e-mailed the surgeon and said that I wasn't ready, at this time, to have a gastric bypass operation. I know that being overweight brings health problems and is ultimately life limiting and I have kids to consider, but that is a vastly different concept to grapple with than having elective major plus surgery with a real mortality rate, however small. Not forgetting the £10,900 cost as well!
Anyway on with the OS eating and smaller portions! I am trying this week and next to concentrate on just eating healthily as poss at mealtimes (without eating anything in between), without doing too much about the portion size, and once I get that under control I will start cutting down on the amounts. I think trying to eliminate the erratic eating AND reducing portions is probably too much and will result in failure so I am going really really slowly this time, in the hope that I will see sustainable changes.
Anyway hope you are all having a good weekend. DD2 has a sports party this afternoon so will now go out an get present and card for the birthday girl - I usually have a stock of presents and cards in but haven't got any left - Must start replenishing stocks!
Queenpig - still praying for your friend - hope you get better news over the weekend.Jane

Well done losers, everyone is doing great!
I've done my walk, so many joggers out today, probably because its lovely and warm. Made me feel very smug as I was out every day last week in the cold and rain :rotfl: . Weigh day monday, I definately feel fitter so hope I will have lost a pound or 2.
Food today:
B. - 1 x shredded wheat and semi skimmed
L. - apple and yoghurt, maybe a roll if we have anything for me to put in the middle!
D. - Dads birthday so we're having a steak dinner  Am slimming mine down compared to everyone else! I'm having grilled steak, SW chips, mushrooms and onions (cooked in frylight).
Have a great day all and pull out the stops for friday's challenge deadline :eek: Total debt £21,000 :eek:Weight loss to date - 2 st, 2lb:j0 -
My knees are still dodgy from three weeks ago & I'm missing my walks out with Pup:o
But something must still have been happening to my 'derry-air' cuz I've had to move my driving seat forward to reach the clutch properly:p

Congratulations to the losers and well done for trying to everybody else.
Very tired this morning....broken sleep last night as I was babysitting DGD3 and she was hungry! Up late so just had 2 pears and piece of banana that some of the children left, then had some homemade tomato, veg and bean soup...we are having bacon, cabbage, spuds and turnip for dinner, might have sugarfree jelly later on if needs be.
Have a good weekend all
