I can't count them all, a lot of them are in my freezer with ufo's in ready for lazy tea times!!

I have never been one for shoes and bags and I really don't like chocolate much  but tupperware is not my only vice by any means (see my screen name :D) other shopping habits I should really quit are: magazines, black tops (O/H always says 'haven't you got one just like that'?!) silver earrings (usually hoop ones of differing sizes and patterns) and - wait for it - crockery - yes- plates, ramekin dishes, casserole dishes, fancy platters, chinese bowls and so the list goes on as my cupboards burst at the seams :rotfl:

    Heyyy :)

Sorry guys i was absent for so long (yes, it feels long, three whole days!!!!! actually 4) Maggie how did sunday go? tell us what you bought, i personally NEED to indulge in some shopping thoughts, even if it was somebody else's shopping.
And yes, it DOES COUNT! well done, I wish my amex could make me feel so annoyed that i would not want to use it, but since i used it so much, they kind of treat me like a VIP client, so i cant complain.... :rotfl:

Ladies and gentlemen, I have had an NSD on Saturday. NSD on Sunday. and NSD today! Which means, three days in a row which is by far my longest NSD period :j

Oh I did quite well altogether - some lovely scottish beef olives (which I usually don't, but their sausage is guaranteed non-reclaimed meat, and so lovely) which will do 7 dinners for £6 :),
Lovely brunch out with my friends,
the NICEST apple cake I've ever tasted (organic, 30% apple, just mmmmmmmh),
lovely free range organic eggs (the yolks are SO bright),
    and sweetmild cure bacon
    - all the more expensive versions of things that I'd not usually allow myself anyway

Also the slightly more expensive moisturiser in boots - Simple Age Resist with SPF - It's less than £7, but still more than 3 times the price of the cheapy, but it's AMAZING on my skin, I get blemishes every ruddy month and this is helping clear the scarring from that :T.

(I also got washing up liquid and laundry detergent, but as they were from the fairtraid shop, cheaper than elsewhere and are refillable for cheaper when empty, I'm not counting them a treat :D). I also got the bus home, rather than schlepping up the hill in the rain :D.

I've managed to pay off that money now, and my total debt is now under £2000 :j I'm so happy!

I've been a bit rubbish this week though, I'm two for two on going to the canteen for lunch - it's been so cold and cuppa soup just wasn't cutting it for me  It's stupid though, and not healthy either. Some one tell me that I'd be fuller, healthier and happier eating my well balanced and budgeted lunch please.

I'm going to go for NSDs until Friday I think - I need to get the shopping in for Mother's Day dinner on the way home from work on friday, and milk on the way home tonight, but other than that? I've no need to spend. Wish me luck!

This is such a wonderful idea. Let's do our "crap list". So far we have

    DVDs
    magazines
    canteen food
    designer coffee...

    I'll add
    diet coke
    chewing gum
empty notebooks i will never use but so beautiful
bracelets - i always buy them but never wear as uncomfortable... and buy them knowing i would never wear.. whats wrong with me
picture frames i won't use as my room flooded with picture frames but they just so pretty
decleor moisturiser for £35 when a £4 boots one would do
dinners in my fave lebanese when i cant afford
    diaries i'll never use
    tank tops

    :j

It's going to be quite a master list, hu? :D can I also add: Pointlessly expensive shampoo, when the cheaper ones seem to be better for my hair, anyway...

Spent £5 on mothers day card and birthday cards.
Had to buy a new duvet cover as ours gave up the ghost this morning when the frayed edges along the seems literally fell apart in my hands, god knows what my washing machine has been doing to it, but did notice half the pattern worn off as well, but was well behaved-ish and bought the 2nd fav choice as it was £7.50 cheaper than my first choice... Its now on bed, gleaming and new!

Expensive facial wipes. Buying Smart Price wipes saves more than £2 on most leading brands and they are nicer than a lot of the expensive ones!
Cheap and cheerful. Preferably free. :T LBM - more a gradual rude awakening.

  • Well, it's been a bit better this week. DH has been making my lunch - so I've not spent anything on food at work. Hurray!! DH also went to Tescos today and got 12 cans of Tesco Diet Coke (which tastes like the 'real thing' to me) for 1.99!!! Bargain - so I'll be taking those to work with me now too.

So, I think I'm starting to atone for last weeks sins!

    So, so right englishmac.
I rediscovered the joys of our local library last year.. it's small - but you can order books from all the libraries in the county. Fabulous money saving!!

May I add... libraries have phone books too - you can ring them or go in and look up information that you would otherwise have had to pay more for via Directory Enquiries.

Love this thread Del, and well done on making MSE fame!

Ooooh the sunday shopping sounds absolutely fab - well done. Just reading about that apple pie makes me hungry...

I am using body lotion as face moisturiser :o cheapo 200mil bottle for £4.55.. I know it's not best for my skin but hey I can't afford yonka for £30 per 30ml can I...

Yay your debt is under £2000 - lucky you!

Well done for taking the bus! Yesterday I even skipped the bus fare by 1.) walking from paddington to earls court 2.) getting someone to give me a lift home - at least £3.60 saved because I would have had to change twice anyhow. That's good isn't it??

I didn't do that well with shopping tho.. I dont even want to think about it as yesterday I had to buy essentials such as shampoo etc.

Good luck with your NSDs. :j I am doing one today, tomorrow, friday, and sat. Hopefully sun but might not as will have to eat....
