I take it we wont be getting a look at them!
I came back with three carrier bags for well under a fiver from a Christmas fete. I felt I had morphed into a Book VultureGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I love that feeling of loads of books!
I've just listed 45 books from the attic. There are about 30 that aren't really worth it anything so i have put them aside for the charity shop. That is three boxes out of the way.
I've asked the local boot sale guy (good friends with father in law) to see if he can get any books from the tip (i can't believe what people throw away!) so i will see what he comes up with.
I get a little thrill when i check a book i paid next to nothing for and it is listed at a substantial amount.0 -
I've got about 1,000 books to sell and some are listed on greenmetropolis and some on amazon. It's worth remembering to always list on both sites. Some people won't touch one or the other with a barge pole.
greenmetropolis is in it's early stages but i've still sold on there although not that quickly. amazon's quicker but i'm never sure if it's undersold. I think someone else pointed this out. but how do people manage to sell new books at 1p?0 -
Hi Mike - :hello: welcome to MSE and the Amazon thread (actually there is so much of this thread there's enough for a large sweater
)
You have a lot of books to shift! have you upgraded to the amazon pro-merchant subscription? if you are likely to sell more than 17 books per month it will save you 86 pence per book after that. It's half price for 3 months at the moment but you have to join before the 30 november.
I think that there are a few of us that sell on both sites but I haven't duplicated all my books I just have handful on greenmet but not sold any as yet.
I don't understand new books at 1 penny either - I can't see how it would work unless it's a 'new' book that was given as a gift and not read so it's not a proper books seller selling a new book but a private seller who just wants rid of an unwanted book0 -
I upgraded to Pro merchant. It was really easy!0

Exactly - no commitment other than taking each month at a time, your listings stay just as they are and it gives you a push to 'feed' your little baby business and keep it topped up with new listings as old ones sell.0 -

Me too, wasn't it just!
Will need to cancel at the end of the 3 months as I don't sell enough to justify the normal monthly cost of pro-merchant. Does anyone know if you cancel, does it take immediate effect, or do you need to give any notice. Or is it possible to specify a date in the future that you want it to cease?0 -
OK, so now I'm a pro merchant seller, how do I access the Buyer Waiting reports? I can't see where to click.0

Hi purple
I can't access this page, I have the link here
https://secure.amazon.co.uk/exec/panama/seller-admin/download/preorder-report
but I can't make it work, I asked on the amazon forum for help with it, it was suggested that I log out, then in and try again but it was no better, I emailled amazon to query it but didn't get an answer - I gave up.
As far as cancelling your pro merchant subscription, I think that you can cancel anytime and I assume that you just get the benefit till the end of the month that you have paid for then you revert to normal0 -
Well I bit the bullet tonight and listed a couple of cds I don't ever listen to- wanted to list a 3rd one but when I put in the title the version I've got doesn't seem to be there and it wants a asin (?) number - but I can't find where to find that on the product. Does anyone know where the number I need to find will be - or where I can find it on the internet?
We don't seem to have lots of books here at the moment that we don't want/need but I'm hoping to get a box of stuff from my parents house when we go down for Christmas - most will be mine - books I've left behind because I don't want - but I'm sure my parents will be able to add a few bits too
Currently selling stuff to help pay for our honeymoon and wedding rings for next summer - my parents are paying for everything else - but we want to do these ourselves.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
